It really needs to be updated. I like the current style, but there are so many cast members missing:

I think the last time anyone's shot was added or updated was in 05. They seriously need a brand new opening, this one is old and stale IMO.

Judith Chapman and Kristoff already appear in the opening. The last updates made were when they added Judith, and gave new shots for Jess Walton, Jeanne Cooper and I think Greg Rikaart.

The last update was June 2006. They added Amelia Heinle, Judith Chapman, Bryton and Michael Graziadei and new shots of Eileen Davidson and Greg Rikaart.

Judith Chapman and Kristoff already appear in the opening.

Chapman, St. John and Bryton's entire reels were removed when Davidson and Rowell left.

The show's opening is not like those of the others soaps that can just be easily updated without looking cheap...

I think TPTB have been more concerned with more pressing troubles in the production lately besides the opening...

i dont think the opening would be any ahrder than B&B's opening to updates. B&B has images over images over images for the backdrop, a blue hue over all of it, the black at top and bottom, then the char over all of that as wella s the actor/char name.

yr has a show shot overlayed by a closeup shot with white over it, ampo up the contrast, and the actor name.

openings are important to a show. if Y&R cant update at least once a year then drop it and just do the title card.

They don't even have to call in the actors to take shots as the ABC shows, ATWT, and B&B have to do. Just get some archive footage and scrap something together.

Umm, that actress in your siggie who played in Nip/Tuck last season was like sex on legs. She seriously had no inhibitions. But that Eden was so vacuous. I really wish Ryan Murphy gave her some layers and I hope the writers for 90210 redux give her layers too. Sure, 90210 1.0 wasn't the most high-brow show but those characters were a lot more realistic than any character on Gossip Girl or The OC. At least Brenda was a Beyotch for a reason, several actually. Blair Waldorf can't hold a candle to that girl. Here's hoping this Naomi character will not be the latest bland-bitch of the 21st century.

On my last cell phone I had Jess Walton in her most glamorous porn theme posing as my wallpaper... No kidding.

I think we won't get a new opening until they have to drop another version of the current one. Seriously, last time they were down to 3 from originally 5 versions before they updated it in 2006. Same thing with the porn opening which they never updated, they just put one version after another into the firdge after certain people left the show.

Please no porn opening!

Jill's porn opening hair toss must be LEGENDARY because it sounds like it's a favorite shot of all of ours. Why can't she grow her hair out like that again? Delicious!

I feel like Y&R, for all they try to do to recognize their talent, they sure do a disservice by neglecting the opening so much. Everything seems so deliberate on Y&R, can't they treat the opening like something other than an afterthought?!
