Who are your favorite soap announcers?

There have been some really great soap announcers over the years (although, sadly they are completely absent today). I wanted to ask you who your all-time favorites were. If possible, try to narrow it down to just a copule of announcers.

In my opinion, AW's Bill Wolff and GL's Alan Burns were the cream of the crop when it came to soap announcers. Their voices were so authoritative and distinguished, even when compared to other legends such as Dan McCollough, Dwight Wiest, Hal Simms, and Macdonald Carey. Below are some examples of their work. (Unfortunately, pasting a YouTube "screen" was not possible, since embedding was disabled.)

Alan Burns ("And now...GUIDING LIGHT") was one of my favorites. So, too, was Bern Bennett ("Please join us again, for THE YOUNG...AND THE RESTLESS").

The voices of Bern Bennett and Dan Region always give me a little warm feeling inside.

And definitely Rod Roddy of "Soap" (and later "The Price is Right"). "Confused? You won't be after this episode of...SOAP! This is the story of two sisters: Jessica Tate...and Mary Campbell. These are the Tates...and these are the Campbells. And this is....SOAP!" And then the whole family just starts beating the crap out of each other!

Alan Burns.... I loved his voice as a child. It was an indication that you were entering another world.

In that second Alan Burns clip, is that Warren Burton in the GL opening credits?

My all-time fav from actual viewing is Dan Region of 1980's WORLD TURNS..."And now PART TWO! of...AS the WOOORRRLD TURNS!"

2nd place goes to Y&R's Bern Bennett...I always appreciated him "inviting you to join again for...THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS!"

Now from watching opening on the great WOST.org I now love Bill Wolffe, who was always sure to remind viewers to tune in again for "the CONTINUING story of ANOTHER WORLD!"
