Wow, that's like asking a chocolate addict what's their favorite See's candy!

I can't even think- for me it's a tie between the Kelly/Morgan/Nola triangle, the Douglas Cummings storyline, and Beth/Phillip New York storyline.

Well personally for me the best storyline that I've witnessed in all my soap watching years would be the AIDS storyline on Y&R from 1995-96. It was so well written, and beautifully acted. I really felt that everyone involved in that storyline brought their A-game. Tonya Lee Williams deserved an Emmy for her work in that storyline. The way Olivia confronted Keesha will stand out in my mind forever, because the character of Olivia usually didn't get to be so ballsy, but it was very appropriate for what the character was going through at the time. Just a great storyline all around for me!

The Nancy Curlee one-two punch of Bridget/Nadine baby segueing right into Roger vs. Bridget vs. Hart vs. Dinah for the baby.

And everything that went along with it.

Now THAT'S an umbrella story.

Daytime? Has to be the Jenny Wolek/Katrina Karr baby switch on OLTL. A simple action (Marco and Karen switch Jenny's baby, which had died in the nursery, with Katrina's) ends up affecting practically everyone in Llanview.

And primetime? When Val's babies were kidnapped, on KNOTS LANDING. Again, one action (in this case, a misunderstanding), which ended up with almost the entire cast having something at stake.

Daytime: Days Of Our Lives. The Three Prisms.

That was the best story I've seen, and that show hasn't come close to that story since.

Nighttime: Dallas. The Battle For Ewing Oil.

One season of complete hell for the Ewing family and everyone connected with them.

I think the best story I ever saw on AMC was the Fall of the House of Cortlandt. Palmer was married to Natalie, his son Ross liked her, he got drunk and raped her, Palmer saw and assumed it was the run of the mill tryst, threw her out. Ross's daughter Julie also saw and ran away from home. Julie's mother ran after her and promptly fell down the staircase, and in one episode the entire clan got blown to bits dramatically.

Also, Adam Chandler trying to buy Channel 5, only what he didn't know was evil Palmer had secretly financed him to bankrupt him and then at the elaborate costume party Palmer unmasked himself as the owner of not only Channel 5, but of basically Adam, and then at the same party Tad broke Dixie out of the asylum and they returned to the party just as Brooke discovered who the father of Dixie's baby really was. Adam went on to have a stroke and who should happen to find his still body in the floor, but meanie Palmer, who instead of calling for help proceed to stand over Adam and gloat and laugh in his face.

    • Anyway...they literally mentioned the secret room today on Days and yes, this show needs a Kristen lesbian story lol.
    • Yes, they did a 'premiere' of Maggie's death episodes at the ArcLight theatre in Los Angeles, arguably then the nicest movie theatre chain in the USA. Plus, Suzanne and Deidre were in a ton of scenes together during this time. Whatever happened between them happened after 2004.
    • There are episodes with Jenny (Mary Ellen Stuart) that she was in pre-writers strike.. and I know that she lasts until at least August 1988. It's a shame that the show didn't try pairing her with Rusty since the two had more chemistry than she had with Ross and that he had with Rose.
    • Was that when she put on the"Slut of Springfield" red dress and made a complete ass of herself at the CC, so of course Alan fell madly in love with her on the spot?
    • Oohh...now I'm not sure. Long did come back in '87, didn't she. She broke up Ross and Vanessa almost from her first minute back. Van and Ross are at the Country Club when Josh dumps Reva. And Reva dramatically drapes herself on the CC stairs.
    • Glad you enjoyed watching. Yes, Michael seems like fun. I am always interested in more of these niche talk show appearances.
    • Thanks for the tag @DRW50
    • Upon reflection, I think you're right, their chilliness toward each other was more recent. She said women on the show in 1984 were not supportive and she still stays away from them. She seems friendly with Susan Hayes so Deidre is the only woman still around from those days, though I guess Kristian Alfonso and Leann Hunley could also qualify. And it might be someone long gone but who is still present in Suzanne's social circles.
    • I don't know.  The animosity seems to be more recent than the mid 80s.  When Maggie was a victim of the Salem Stalker i remember reading an interview with Suzanne where she said they aired the episode(s) surrounding Maggie death in a theatre and made a big deal about it.  Suzanne was very upset about being fired and Dee comforted her and said that they were making such a big deal about it because it was Suzanne/Maggie.  I cannot find the article but I will keep trying. That said Suzanne's comments on Soapy about how some of the female cast members treated her during her illness was disappointing to hear to say the least.
    • Anyway... Kristen should have a prison lesbian story arc. And then come out and become obsessed with Marlena so we can move her on from the Brady nonsense. Is that secret room still in the DiMera mansion?
