I am happy if Chrishell is doing well. I will simply say 2 months of Mischa Barton felt like 2 years.

I'm glad that Cara and Remi have a storyline that is about them and not JJ for once. It's highlighted how strong both actresses are and I hope they continue to give them substantial stuff to do. Another highlight for me is Max Ramsey. He has good chemistry with Byron and Sadie and it's nice to see them in a new storyline. I also think they're doing a much better job with Chrishell Strause than they did with Mischa Barton. For one, she's a better actress and she seems like she wants to be there. I'm enjoying her chemistry with Holly and Nicollette and I love the bits and pieces they give us of her backstory. I'm not sure how long she'll be around but they appear to be using her time wisely.

I agree that Chrishell is being better used than Mischa, even if I grew to like her by the end.

Max feels very miscast to me. He's written as roguish but the actor is very emo. This leads to some somber and strange vibes. They should have cast the actor who played Sebastian.

I agree; if anything, Chrishell Stause would have been twice as effective as Reece Sinclair than Mischa Barton ever was.

Do we know how long Chrishell is on for?

Kinda weird to do this story with Mel, Toadie, Mackenzie and Haz off the show

I don't think she's right for what Reece was meant to be. I don't think Mischa was the main issue with that story's problems anyway - I think, like so much of the revival, any story that relies heavily on backstory is going to struggle.

The official YouTube channel has started uploading episodes from 2011. This season is prior to the 2012-2024 episodes on Amazon. They seem to be available in the UK as well, which they haven't been when previous seasons were uploaded to YouTube.

I posted about this briefly yesterday but forgot to update (for a time the first video went on private). Thanks for sharing. They are also available in the US. This is a smart idea, especially with the show going on break for a few weeks. I know some are upset at the lack of credits or recaps/previews. I suppose this must be some rights issue.

Good to know they're available in the US as well. Apparently the credits and recaps were there to begin with, but have since been removed. Rights issues sounds about right.

I'm still wondering why they're going to YouTube and not Amazon?

Amazon must have only bought the rights to the last ten years of the back catalog.

I don't think so, since they did those random "classic" episodes in packs of 100. Plus, their "live" channel had episodes from 2010/2011 mixed into it.

They would have bought the rights to the entire seasons from 2012 to 2022, and selected iconic episodes from 1985 to 2011. I don't think Amazon has bought the rights to entire seasons before 2022, which is presumably why the full seasons before that aren't going on there. Their live channel would only be playing episodes from 2010/11 which are already in the iconic collection.

My favorite seasons 2010-2012… I loved summer, Tash, Donna and them. There was so much going on. Miss those days

I'm a bit concerned now that we've still had no news on the renewal. Filming for the initial 400 episode commission is due to be completed by April. Presumably they still write 3 months ahead (at least they always did in the past from memory) which means renewal really needs to be decided by January at the latest. I'm wondering how close to the wire it is.

How soon before are other shows like Days renewed? I saw that it was renewed for its 61st season in 2025, and it looks like the renewal happened in November 2024, but I don't know when filming was due to cease for the last commission, does anyone know?

I'm not concerned; even Jason Herbison's words, concerning the upcoming anniversary, are quite positive. I doubt they'd commission a 2025 cast photo if they weren't continuing.
