its a shame TV ratings are so low these days. Maybe when they get really low, they can transfer the soaps to The Internet and then continue the genre there.

A poster at Digital Spy is saying there's some big Emmerdale news coming tomorrow. I have no idea what "big" means -- it could mean Mr. Lucas from Are You Being Served? is Pearl's new boyfriend, for all I know -- but hopefully it will be a nice surprise. Perhaps they will have an episode where viewers vote on which men lose their clothes...

All the men? If you're into Alan Turner that's your business, but please, take that to the privacy of your own home.

Though, if it is something big, maybe someone is getting the axed. When was the last time someone was let go from the show?

That's why I edited that. I realized it would probably end up being Shadrach, Zak, Sandy...by the way, apparently you didn't see the scene in 2008 where poor Alan was in nothing but a slightly loose towel and Pearl walked in on him. That's something which you wouldn't forget.

It's from the Daily Star apparently. These are some of the Twitter quotes.

Have some very exciting @emmerdale news in tomorrow's paper...all you @emmerdalefans you will love it!!! I did when I found out....

It's going to be an amazing summer @emmerdale

Perhaps they stole from me and DaytimeFan and are casting Joan Collins!

I'm crossing my fingers. If soaps have taught me anything, it is to expect the unexpected.

I do like the fact that Blyth seems determined to keep Leyla/David active. It'll be good to hear about Leyla's history before she came to the village.

The only thing they mentioned about her past before now was that she had to work and work to send money home.

Leyla tells David that her mother is in a care home, and she is trying to earn as much money as possible to fund it along with her sister Alesha.

But is this supposed to be "exciting news?"

It has to be something else, something bigger...

We'll see...

It better be something else. Some nobody being cast, DOES NOT CUT IT! If I'm disappointed I'm blaming you, Carl (the messenger).

I guess it might be from the point of view of some of those papers. I guess it's my fault for thinking this might be more. If it had been something big it probably would have been mentioned on the site, or by Kris Green.

Looks like it's the sister.

Their character profiles are interesting. Apparently Declan arrived in 2009...

There are also way too many pictures of David with hair that makes him look like a surfer dude.

Matthew Wolfenden is a former gymnast and even made it to the British squad before a back injury forced him to quit. He originally auditioned for the role of Eli Dingle. Show chiefs called to tell him he didn’t get that part, but offered him the role of David instead

Imagine him as Eli! I'm glad that didn't happen.
