I was glad to see him again. I had a feeling he'd be back today, based on spoilers (and someone breaking an embargo) but it was still nice. And he really looked the part too. I'm happy to see him back with Ben. I hope now we get more exploration of his struggles and, as you said, drop the charges.

Last week was actually quite good. So long Pam and Les, props to the actors for creating one of the most believable couples on the show. When you see them, it feels as if they've been playing this couple for 20 years when they were relative newcomers. Claudette showed her true colors when criticizing Pam behind her back. Ugh. And on Thursday's show, I found her quite out of order to be all happy about Ben moving on. Yes, he should, but saying that right in front of the grandmother? A bit insensitive.
Babe calling Les a pervert is tired so at least that can end now. I wonder how she really feels about Tina and Johnny's sexuality.
Carmel is a character I'd take any day over Babe or Claudette, but she's getting on my nerves lately, trying to evict Masood from his home. I just hope they don't pull a Coker on her before finding a better way to use her.
I'm interested in seeing where the Lauren / Steven story goes.

Ian Lavender will be making a short return as Derek Harkinson. Derek was on the show in the early '00s as Pauline's close friend. He was also a father figure to a very out of control Martin. This was likely done to give the family an older male figure while honoring Wendy Richard's wishes about not marrying again (Derek was gay). After he was fired the character was all but forgotten, so I'm glad he will be back for a story with Martin.

I half-expected Lee to have taken some pills after his wedding to Whitney. All the "our boy has grown up so much" from Linda/Mick, Whitney looking for him then leaving for the bathroom. I just don't see the appeal of the Whit/Lee pairing. The only interesting thing is Lee's internal struggles.
I hope Claudette won't return!
Shakil is cute and different but I just don't buy him being into girls. Can they stop having Ben throw tantrums everyday too? The guy's a decent actor in everything but that. No to him throwing himself at Johnny. He needs to stay single for a while.
I actually miss Kat and I thought she'd have returned by now. I'll watch the spin-off especially with Fionnula Flanagan involved but I'm not sure it's going to work to have Kat and Alfie outside of EastEnders.

    •     data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAPABAP///wAAACH5BAEKAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAICRAEAOw== Janice Frame is Evan's mother. Janice & Mac were together. Janice was up to no good. Mitch was helping her. She was slowly, little by little, every day, POISONING Mac. She was almost successful. In St. Croix, Rachel & Janice began what was literally a physical fight. They fell into the resort swimming pool, continuing to fight each other. Somehow, I guess Janice had it on her, there was a knife in play but Rachel kept Janice from stabbing her & got it away from her & they continued to struggle until Rachel stabbed Janice, which was a death blow. Mitch did a 180 & helped Rachel get Mac to the hospital. He was so weakened by the poison he could not even stand unassisted. It took both of them together to walk him to the hospital but it did save his life.  The St. Croix remote was SO beautiful, but so dangerous & scary. Also action-packed.     data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAPABAP///wAAACH5BAEKAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAICRAEAOw== Hooray! Maxim's back
    • Thanks @skylark and @DRW50!

    • I do not think I have ever agreed with Vee. Normally I do not read him, Ignore ya know. For some unknown reason I clicked to read. And I agree 1000%. Now, this is so odd that I need to go away for a bit.
    • Justine had a lot of hooey in it, but she was an actual woman, not a guy in drag. She was a doppelganger of Rachel, French, having had a past history with Carl, etc. Two of the more outrageous parts-Justine bricking alive Vicky into a wall & Justine grinding the gears driving a big rig.
    • Hehe, twi/x actually x, formerly Twitter. Typically I find 2 sources for "crazy fan rumors" - the wrong parts of FB and x. Oy.
    • Not to hijack the thread, but was that character Justine? I just found this interview online with Logan and see what you're talking about - wow!   http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/chat85.html
    • My bad….ill fix that  Fixed
    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.
