I thought the same thing too when Sharon started with her speech. I just rolled my eyes and realized how stupid and repetitive this is. It's like a vortex that never ends. Sharon taking off her rings and encouraging Kathy to go after Phil made me laugh because the second Kathy's dumb ass does go after Phil, Sharon will want him back. Like I said before, it's the same song and dance with this show and I am growing tired.

I don't mind Kush as he's a stark contrast from all the other hardened brutes on this show, but I agree that he is a self-righteous, sniveling twat. I wish they'd write Zainab's daughter as Zainab's daughter! She should've been shrill and socking Kush repetitively before leaving in a blaze of glory. To see her succumb to him made me gag. Like Sharon, this will be a first of many antics of his she will probably excuse.

And Jane ... that b-tch ... I've never wanted a character to be killed off more than I do her. I don't give a damn how good or valuable Laurie Brett is, Jane needs to die. Since that trash has returned her toxic, dullard a** to the Square, she's brought nothing but misery. Watching her quiver over whether Sharon might still tell made me wanna scream. Then for her to further suggest that Sharon return to Phil after Denny gets better.... <_<

I don't see how DTC finds any of the content on this show compelling or its characters. There are only a small handful left on the canvas that I actually care for and the rest can take a flying leap. It's that bad.

I miss Zainab. She needs to come back NOW! Masood needs her. The kids need her. Denise sure as hell needs Zainab nipping at her heels....

To be honest with you I've never thought Laurie Brett was all that brilliant, and she has been mediocre to poor this past year.

Zainab was also pushed around by men under the surface. Shabs reminds me a lot of her. It's just at least I felt like Mas, pig that he could be, loved her. I don't see that with Kush at all. He's just needy as hell.

I hate that they have Ben posing as straight. With all the mouth and grief Ben gives Phil, he should just accept his sexuality. One of the many absurd stories on EE.

True but in the end, Zainab did find her spunk once she realized she and Masood wouldn't work. I wish Shabnam would do the same w/o having to leave the Square.

Peggy Mitchell news:

http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a780178/its-the-end-of-an-era-barbara-windsor-to-leave-eastenders-after-peggy-mitchells-heartbreaking-cancer-news/

Let the doom and gloom commence....

Phil is dying. Peggy is now dying. Fatboy & Charlie have died. Denny is laid up in the hospital. Talk about f-cking depressing. I guess DTC is trying to drive the sympathy card home for Phil, but again, I feel nothing. We've seen this many times before.

Where's the damn comedy/light moments on this show? Jesus....

@cassadine1991 Yep. I am not surprised. Ever since they killed of Pat, Barbara Windsor has seemed like she was over the show and definitely wouldn't return after that.

Plus, I doubt Ben will ever progress as a character. He'll blame the same couple of stories forever--the closet gay story, the murder story, or the angry son story. That is until a capable producer with capable writers are in charge again.

Umm yes, Charlie Slater is dead. Have you not been watching?

Superb work from Steve McFadden and Barbara Windsor in the episode. I appreciate her choice to end Peggy on her own terms. Barbara's always been capable of strong dramatic performances when given the material, so I hope she gets it here.

I don't give a sh!t about dull Gavin and his being yet another man to manipulate Sharon so we'll remember Phil isn't so bad. And while it was nice to hear Kathy talk about the old Phil, it's a shame this is the extent of her relationship with Ben.

Shirley, and that pretentious montage, stuck out like a sore thumb. She sucks.

Louise is going to be the latest excuse to recycle the same old Phil psychodramas. I'm already bored.

    • Not mad at Leslie Locking Eva out, I think it's important for the audience to see her on her own for a while. Curious how scrappy and savvy on her own. Yeah, I am with you there. It feels a bit hollow; maybe if she was talking to Martin and Kat I would feel better about it. There must be more to this story. Daphnee and Ambry owned this episode. Tugging my heart in every scene. Nicole process hurt and anger much differently than Dani though.
    • I also really enjoyed Eva's scenes with Kat today. They have an interesting chemistry. I thought it really did feel a bit like sisters at conflict. Especially with the way that Eva was trying to convince Kat to forgive Ted and them both coming to the conclusion that the man they thought was their father was different wasn't who they really thought he was initially. And the way that Eva broke down when Kat said that she was dead to her was emotional stuff. I really do think that in spite of their conflict/bickering Eva really would have loved to have gained a sister, along with a brother, father, etc... Also, I thought it was interesting how Eva kept saying that she loves Ted and Nicole. That and Leslie mentioning that Kat/Eva are almost twins really does make me wonder if Kat may really be her twin and Nicole's as well. I would gladly welcome that outcome, even if it takes a while for it to come out. At this point Leslie doesn't deserve Eva as a daughter as far as I'm concerned. And I would forward to a storyline where we found out that she's Nicole's second baby girl, and all the complex and ultimately happy feelings that would bring Nicole. Eva/Kat could still have a rivalry, especially if Nicole ended up doing some more bonding with Eva. And then we could get the rest of the family's reaction to that as well.

What you NOT gonna do to me!
    • Bravo to every single person responsible for today's episode. From the writer on down to Kraft services. Yall I'm getting emotional but I wish my granny was here to have seen this soap since she was the one to introduce me to this medium.

    • Everything is fraught with confusion. Why is Leslie pleading with the Duprees to accept Eva? She's not biological family so what is this? She's the product of an affair with their in-law so Leslie wants them to accept her? I'm getting GOOD TIMES vibes of Leslie and Eva minus the physical abuse.
    • Big fan of today's writing. In particular, I like EJ complexity, crying over Johnny and conspiring at the same is tough to pull off in the same episode, but it goes very far in explaining EJ's motives. I don't hate the idea of Cat and EJ, and I especially appreciate everyone trying to warn her, but she is sticking to the plan. Boy oh boy, when Brandon Beemer wears a shirt that matches his eyes, I get lost in the screen!
    • Yeah, I think that Leslie's speech would have had a bit more of an impact if Ted had been the Dupree's son, with Nicole being the daughter in law they loved like a daughter. But being that he's the son in law, and that Eva (at least not right now) isn't technically a Dupree, it doesn't hold as much weight. They aren't caring much for Ted right now and their feelings could be trickling down to Eva. Though, I do think they have some sympathy for her. I really enjoyed today's show. Loved a stripped, down hurt but still strong in her resolve Nicole. DD continues to shine and shows why she is IMO the heart of the show. I felt her words, and anger at Ted and how she broke down in Kat's arms at the end. She is just wonderful all the way around. I also loved the way that Anita read Leslie. She was spot on about her and how mishandled everything with Ted and Eva. And speaking of Leslie... I immediately thought the same thing once I saw that scene. That what she exhibited was trash behavior. I don't think she's a good mother. In fact, I think she's lousy. Granted, I have missed some episodes, but I haven't really seen her do anything to indicate that she really cares for Eva or her well being. All she's really done is try and manipulate/use Eva for her own agenda since she came to town.
    • I thought Brandon C was much more believable as Martin today.  Before, I watched an actor trying to portray a character.  Friday and today, I simply felt the character.
