Live episodes cost a lot of money, I think the one EastEnders recently did for their 25th anniversary cost over a million pounds according to Santer and Yorke.

I think it's kind of cool that Marquess wants to celebrate Hollyoak's anniversary next year during its 16th anniversary, and not this year during it's 15th. Very fitting for this show.

Yes, shirtless Darren is ALWAYS welcome. I hope this means there's more to come with Marquess

Ugh, I can't even look at Josh now. He's so freakin' ugly. It's blinding.

Mercedes is such a selfish cow.

Kris is still amazing. God, I'll miss him.

Hmm, Marquess said he'd be taking Darren in a new direction, right? After tonight, I got the feeling (dream/wish) that the new direction would be RHYS! INSTANT GOLD! I would not be able to control myself.

I thought the actor was OK, although that might have been because he replaced Sonny. I liked some of his moments with Hannah.

Of the family I think Danny and the girl who plays Lauren were probably the best actors. She's been in so many bad stories, although I liked her with Gaz, even though Lucy Allan made them both so vile. The stuff with Lauren and Newt always seemed a bit off to me, I mean when the show moved beyond them being only friends, but then it seems like the show gave up on Newt a long time ago. Is Newt still on the show? He doesn't interact with any of the teens.

Newt is still there, and he's no longer the goth-type he used to be. He and Ste work at that diner place the last I saw of them. They were both after some girl. Marquess is getting rid of him soon though, though Nico claims he wanted to leave...

Lucy Allan screwed a lot of these characters up and altered them beyond recognition...

Hollyoaks got some good ratings on Monday - 1.24 Million.

Sure its not much but judging the terror ratings they have been getting recently. This is a big improvement.

Monday`s episode was decent enough as it was.

Jake & Loretta are getting some focus next week. Hyping up the exit i guess.

Thanks. I'm glad Jacqui will have a lot to do. That's funny when Jorgie says she had no idea she was going to be in Hollyoaks Later until DS told her.

I know some in the comments are saying that her being the killer is unrealistic, but I don't care that much in this story because the whole thing is absurd anyway. At least there will hopefully be some drama.

Who the [!@#$%^&*] does Cherly think she is? What the eff right is it of hers to tell Carmel about the affair? INSTANT HATE! And she's religious too? Well, isn't that the effing cherry on top. VOMIT!

And seriously, these boring useless children who have taken over Kris, Zoe, and Zak's crib need to GET THE F.UCK OUT! Except the lesbian chick, she be cool! B)

    • I mean...Sarah Michelle Gellar did go on to be a household name and food guru. I can see Amber doing the same with the same talent.  Amen.
    • It really is ridiculous how happy episodes from 40 years ago make me. God, MKA is so young!
    • Holy sh.it. THAT was a damn soap opera. I’m at a loss for words for how good that was.
    • A private elevator penthouse with a spiral staircase to the primary suite.  Sign me up! The only deficit was that various riff-raffs seemed to have easy access to the elevator.

    • Same here.  Anyone who voluntarily left Margo's penthouse set (except to go overseas or to Heaven) was immediately on my blacklist.  lol.

    • The penthouse was my favorite set... and it changed hands from Margo to Draper/April to Miles/Nicole then to just Miles... before he opted to give that beautiful place for that drab house with the even more drab Beth.  That was a jump the shark moment for me LOL
    • The storyline April and Draper are involved in during the summer/autumn of 1979 seems fairly "benign" but soon turns very serious.  April has a VERY intrusive, wealthy mother (Margo Huntington Dorn).  Margo knows that April and Draper (who've recently had a miscarriage and are theoretically never going to be able to conceive another baby) want to buy a house.  Margo hoodwinks them into buying a house they can't afford.  The house is listed at $100,000 (about $400,000 in today's dollars).  Margo pays the first $35,000 and leads Draper to believe the asking price of the house is $65,000 instead of $100,000.  If Draper finds out his meddling mother-in-law paid 1/3 of the cost of the home and tricked him, he'll be mad as hell.   Meanwhile, Draper has received a job offer from a prestigious New York law firm.  Margo pulls some strings and has the senior partner in the firm rescind the offer, to keep April in Monticello.  If Draper finds out about THAT, he'll be even angrier with Margo than he will be about the house trickery.  All of that is "bubbling under the surface" in the fall of 1979 but will be the next major story, as everything begins to spiral out of control.   Yep, you've got the Karrs and their very basic middle-class house, the Victorian-themed place where Miles and Nicole live, April and Draper's old craftsman house with the exposed beams, the Madisons & their Mission revival house, and Margo with her 1970s-chic penthouse.  Each of the sets is completely different.  And their budget was like zero, lol.
    • It felt weird and out of place.  I get it. While I agree with those on here that say he's gotten better, it's still really bad. I'm not seeing the "good" acting some see...but I'll give him a B for being better than when he first started. There's potential. I'll leave it at that.
