I like JP's idea of Phyllis thinking Nick is having an affair. But I don't think their conflict even has to go to that.

Phyllis meddling in Daniel's life could drive a wedge between them. Nick knows what it's like to have a parent do that to him, I don't think he would sit idly by and watch Phyllis to that to Daniel. She could ask him to but out seeing as how Daniel is her son. The notion that Phyllis only sees Daniel as her son would be the first of many little things that begin to piss of Nick, including Phyllis siding with Jack on some issues at work, her flippant attitude towards Nick's opinions as well as her scheming ways returning.

All conflict doesn't have to be because of an affair or someone thinking there's an affair. And I'm sorry, but until they can bring on a woman who ISN'T SHARON for Nick to possibly be with, he and Phyllis can stay together.

Phick Forever!

Sharon is a slut

My full Phick storyline dream idea?

Nick & Amber work together on a project at restless Style. They become close and he takes a liking to her, as a friend. Her and Daniel are growing closer as a couple and Phyliss cant stand it. She also cant stand Amber & Nicks friendship. Daniel then tells Phyliss he isnt sure about him and Amber because she seems to have pulled away and he thinks maybe shes into another guy - and Phylissa thinks its Nick and strarts to scheme to get rid of amber. Nick donest relize it at first but then finds out and is furious she would do that to someone he thinks of as a friend.

Then Phyliss gets jelous of Nick standing up for amber and thinks they might be more than friends. The never trust a cheater, if they cheated on someone with you they might cheat on you whatnot...

Also as Ryan said there are other various things. They could start to disagree at work, she could side with Jack making him feel unsure about himself and always being lesser than Jack just like he was to his father. Nick could offer Daniel some advice anmd Phyliss finds out he went to Nick and not her, and that Nick didnt tell her making her pissed and him pissed because he feels like she doesnt want him and daniel as close as she is to him.

whatever it is PLEASE GOD JUST NOT NICK & SHARON!!!!

LOL, I used to hate Shagging Sharon -- until LML's reign of terror, weirdly enough. That's the only thing I will give her any credit for. When Sharon found out about Nick's affair, she grew a pair for the first time ever. I liked when Nick had amnesia and thought he was in love with Sharon again, but I don't want a Shick redux either as that was Snoresville.

Hate that smug pr*ck Brad but I always wondered why they dropped Sharon & Brad like a hot potato. I could buy their chemistry more readily than Jack & Sharon. Jack is great but strangely asexual.

And seeing Cane, Chloe and Nick discussing business just made me realize how much the first two need to be interacting with their own age group/professional

I found that biz meeting to be unprofessional just like most everything else that happens at RS. Things aren't much better at Jabot and Newman. It would be nice if they put a little more effort into being realistic (something more than a manila folder) since big biz has been a Y&R staple.

I really like Chloe, let's just hope that they don't turn her into a psycho. Some previews had me a little worried. She would make good friends with Amber.

BTW I feel some sexual tension between Nick and Amber...

I have to admit that I like this version of sad David Chow.

Victor has become a crazy old man. I was mad at Nick, Vicky AND Adam for not saying anything when he kicked Heather out. And this marriage to Sabrina... please..

Billy Miller (Richie, AMC) would make a good Billy Abbott. And Martha Madison (ex-Belle, DAYS) would make a good Heather.

Gloria and Jeff need to go. They don't belong to this show.

And I think that Nick is very cute and sexy when he is "simple" Nick. :)

Co-signing to everything but an Amber/Nick hookup. Blech. Oddly, they are my favorite couple as well. Don't know how it happened and I am not sure I would admit it to too many people, but they have a certain passionate chemistry that I really dig.

Oh, and more naked Nick. That is all...

Brilliant idea. Nick always had a thing for sexcapades with trashy blondes and I think Nick & Amber actually deserve each other.

THink of Phyllis AND Daniel's reaction to that. Hello Breacon, this would be so L.A.

I can't believe that VI 's acting has been that great the last two weeks. I'm in shock. Why on earth did he show zero emotion up to this? He maybe could have saved that worst character ever to hit G.C. David Chow with this force...

That said, I still can't wait for David to be toasted, hopefully David Kimble-style. :P

I think the one bright spot about Chloe being pregnant, is when Jill and Kay find out. I can actually see Hendrickson being a worthy adversary against Walton and Cooper, just like Tricia Cast had them matched back in the day.

Vail is now a goddess to me.

The actress loosened up a bit, and her chemistry with Adam is off the charts.

Now that she is showing that Maxim body, and getting Adam to show his...

Well, my avatar bespeaks my current infatuation with this couple.

We always knew Vincent had it. Thus, this was a total mis-write by LML and her followers.

We see in David now that "tortured pain" that served him so well in other roles. I am glad he gets to show it at the end, and I am sorry that writing didn't serve him better to this point.

I was thinking the same thing, and I totally agree. EXCEPT Nina was the all-time goddess, and part of the charm of that story was that she was the common enemy that brought feuding Jill and Kay together.

I guess what I am saying is that I fear Chloe--no matter how terrific Hendricksen is!--is reheated stuff. But I'm hopeful.

I'd love another custody battle for Phyllis, you know how she used to repeat her past mistakes? I'd love for Nick and Phyllis to get a divorce and follow a bitter custody battle (Summer should've been Jack's kid anyway!).

Then they can bring a much more dynamic and layered character on to pair with Phyllis. As I said before, Phyllis is a much more layered and complex character than frat-boy Nick, that's partly why they fizzled so fast after the affair.

Nick doesn't have to go back to Sharon, and Phyllis doesn't have to go back to Jack. Frankly, I'd like the four of them in separate stories and AWAY from one another.

Hell, I wouldn't mind Phyllis being behind a Restless Style financial debacle, covering it up, and at the same time Nick gets closer to Amber. Nick would find out and feel betrayed, sleep with Amber, and Phyllis would find out and that leads to collapse of Phyllis and Nick and Restless Style.

You all saw how pissed Phyllis was when Nick, Sharon, and Jack sided AGAINST her a few weeks back, it's not unlike her to do stupid things when she feels threatened.

As I said before, Phyllis is so much more interesting when she's the outsider. We're seeing bits of the old Phyllis again with Amber, but she shouldn't be wasted on Amber.

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

I know I said I wouldn't post anymore after being repeatedly insulted and patronized (thanks, Y&RWorldTurner and DaytimeFan, among others), but after a much-needed break I have decided to return, lest I let those comments get to me. I will continue to defend Khalil, Sursok, Heinle and any other actor I happen to like against onslaughts. If anyone disagrees with me, tough.

I just have to co-sign these two posts:

Right on the money! Sharon is a slut - not to mention a narcissist and a hypocrite!

Damn, I knew I shouldn't have given my lucky penny away.;)

LOL! You must really think too highly of yourself.

No one cares who you defend or who you dislike. It gets to be a problem when you state the same thing over and over again and respond to the same posters over and over again stating that same idea.

Not only is it rude when someone states a negative opinion on say Tammin Sursok and you respond with something like "Tammin is very talented and she is the perfect Colleen and I don't know what anyone ever saw in Adrienne Leon!" but it's also grating and ANNOYING. You've done that multiple times and at times to the same posters who you've responded to in the past and know what you think.

I also don't condone anyone attacking you or what you think repeatedly, so I'm not for that at all.

    • 6-6   Hmmmm. Not my favorite of the week. However, it showed the strength of Jazmen's script writing against RC's breakdown. And he's good enough to rise above almost all of RC's tics. Though I guess the real question would be would I have caught 'Carl' author thing if I had not heard it mentioned here?

I felt the stories moved and while there were situations, they weren't the slapsticky I would expect from a RC breakdown. Well-done, Jazmen.   I guess I liked it on a second viewing. I'm just sorry that outside of Bill's subplot and Chelesa's love life C plot, it did not continue the majority of the stories that were going on this week. I still liked what I got so I guess it was worth it for potential flow interruption. Though I have to note that Eva and Kat have been dancing around each other all week and since it is a by-product of the SilkPress storyline, I love how the story can be used separate from the main part of that plot, which kept this episode with a thread attached to the main stories of this week.   It has been a minute since I saw a situation where a character has to get into someone's room and it seems plausible. Of course, Kat has to use her family name. That said...those scenes did not seem implausible at all, but that could be my industry experience showing. Meanwhile, Eva and Tomas continue to grow closer. But even I had to side-eye when he finally declared his interest for Kat. Because it seem like he had been working hard to give mixed signals to Eva and Kat. And NOW he's devoted to Kat? And I am smh at Kat thinking Eva is the one who ran Laura off the road now. Just le sigh. BUT keeps their rivalry going if she accuses Eva and it turns out to be false. Eva will be looking for the payback. And she will be justified.   I know I'm in the minority, but I enjoyed the Doug/Vanessa/Joey scenes. I've mentioned it before, but of all the B stories, it was the only one that was given enough room to grow and had a build to it. And you could cut the tension in that room with a knife. Everyone gave a good performance. You could see the distance between Doug and Vanessa. And for all that drama...there still was more to play with the other shoe dropping of Doug finding out Vanessa and Joey slept together. Just juicy. Even if the end goal apparently seems to be money laundering.   Lord...Bill wasn't really even out of the hospital for an episode without having to go back in again, was he? lol. Good to see his separate story progressing.    Same for Chelesa and her love life. I'm not sure if Naomi is right. That said, I do like the cliffhanger of Mystery Woman being Bill's doctor. Not to mention Kat with the evidence.
    • Speaking of 1986, YT recommended me some 1986 episodes revolving around Kyle/Reva/Maeve/Fletcher/Cain. What struck me most about the episodes is Zimmer seems at a loss. This does not feel like Reva at all. Was Kyle always such an a-hole? Why was the pairing so popular? He's so unlikeable, and Malloy's theatrical acting does not help matters. Jay Hammer is extremely charming as Fletcher--did they ever try Reva and Fletcher? The real star of these episodes is Leslie Denniston. When she tells Kyle she wants a divorce, it's a fantastic scene and Denniston is putting in some great work while the stuff around her is just weird and off-putting.
    • The Day Of The Jackal author Frederick Forsyth dies
    • 6-5   Case in point...lol.   Kat and Jacob can soooo have a spinoff. Just watching her being adamant that Eva is up to no-good while Jacob continues to try to play straight man to the craziness continued to be a hoot to watch. And the sad part is that Kat is on the right trail, just following the wrong clues. Or worse coming to the wrong conclusion. All because of her dislike for Eva.    Meanwhile, Eva continued to make inroads. I know I have said this since the start of the show, but I love how for the most part, the writers write the characters in gray. Not completely white. Not completely black. Most of the characters have moments where they resonate with the audience and then have moments where they are unlikeable. Like technically, Eva should be a pariah. I like that she knows this, understands this, and still shows remorse and still tries to work to get back the lost trust. It makes her so rootable. And played by a star is a bonus.

It is also what makes the rivalry between Eva and Kat so much fun to watch. Also played by a star. Neither one is perfect really, but they are oh so watchable and a nice by-product of the SilkPress storyline.    Same for Anita. I love the regal coldness TT has given to the role. The sense of ruthlessness beneath the beautiful face. And yeah it can be a turn-off. And it's been nice to see a softer side to her throughout this story of her and her bandmates. She is far from perfect. She...is also NOT a doormat so it was great to watch her versus her bandmates this episode.    I like the run-in between NuTed and Nicole. I'm getting used to NuTed. And Nicole's presence has been a little too light for my liking. I can only assume that is to build to the next Nicole vs Silk Press Sheila confrontation which rumor has it will be another good one.    Speaking of which...LAURA IS OUT OF THE HOSPITAL!!!! Praise it be!!! And I thought it was so adorable that Nicole, Kat, and Mona were on hand to welcome her back. I liked that Laura has an open mind toward Eva (unlike her feelings toward SilkPress). Another layer to add to the Eva vs Kat rivalry.
    • Victoria Principal clearly stacked her Dallas coins real good. In the grand scheme of things, she was smart to walk away from Dallas when she did.
    • When Robert Calhoun became EP I thought GL was finally hitting its stride after some pretty rough years. Unfortunately the ratings during Robert Calhoun's run did not reflect the quality of the show.
    • There was a five week break between the last Friday episode and the Thursday episodes which were the final four episodes. I have a feeling the final four episodes were refilmed to wrap up the storylines.
    • Yes, I forgot there was a gap between his exit from GL and his start at ATWT. This almost makes me want to cry. He really turned ATWT around (and good for them). It would have been great if someone had done the same for GL. Can't imagine who. The Dobsons were doing Santa Barbara at this point. I mainly blame Kobe. She may not have been the worst EP they ever had, but she almost totally destroyed the Bauers and decimated much of the rest of the cast, sometimes for egotistical reasons. That was a huge mistake and made it that much harder for the show to recover.
    • Douglas Marland began at As the World Turns in September 1985 but it took about a year for his run to show growth in the ratings. 1986 As the World Turns becomes CBS's #2 daytime drama after Y&R.
    • This is not at all surprising. Watching the recently uploaded episodes, the uneveness is SO apparent. Characters are changing at the drop of a hat. The stories are close to incoherent. It's a mess, and we're only up to May. What a fall from grace. An Emmy-winning show with good ratings and within a few short years hitting possible cancelation territory.  I'm surprised CBS and/or P&G didn't try to do SOMETHING to restore its former glory. Was Marland still at ATWT at this point?
