Heh.

Meanwhile, congrats to notColleen for confronting Korbel. He insulted her over and over again, now they can send him out from Genoa City... but it seems like they're going somewhere with this Korbel/Amber\Phyllis storyline at Restless Style..

I still want Neil and Victoria. One thing I'll never understand is why Nikki and Katherine are so upset with Jill for firing Gloria. The bitch NEVER went to work, this was established numerous times. Plus her work was horrible. What did Jill do that is so wrong? They need to go ahead and make Nikki the real daughter because it's clear Kay favors her and Jill see's that. It would give an extra dynamic to the current feuding. Maybe Jill already knows.

It's probably Nikki being petty because Jill went over Nikki's head and fired a Jabot employee. So, it has nothing to do with Gloria actually.

I can't wait til Kay finds out how Glo and her merry band dupped her(Kay). Hopefully that part of the GloHo saga won't be permanently dropped. I also wonder why Jil hasn't brought up the fact that she knows that Glo drugged her(Jil) and JiMin. I thought she would have thrown that in Kay's face by now.

No, it is not all about TS, and I am not related to TS (it is possible to like an actor/actress without being related to them). I just didn't particularly like his work, and I noticed no difference in production after he left last year.

Seriously?!

For me, Ed Scott's departure was a huuuuuuge loss for Y&R. He was a consistent presence on that show for more than 30 years and did a helluva job. The production of Y&R has gone to absolute sh*t since he left. For one thing they fired the acting coach and hired a dialog coach instead...no surprise that the crappy actors haven't improved. They also film rehearsals now, if it's 'good enough' it's a wrap. While the sets are still OK that's only because they haven't really built anything new to judge against. Additionally, it is clear that JG has not vision for the show, he doesn't have any idea where the show needs to go. Fans aren't happy, the numbers prove that.

And sadly, TS isn't going anywhere. Babs likes her. Oh well...she'll never get to carry a story, everyone knows it. At least not as long as CK is still around, she's the alpha dog when it comes to the 'young adult' storyline. And to think that only a few years ago we had Mac, Billy, Brittany, Raul, JT.....a GOOD group of believable 'young adults' who could ACT.

It's no use reasoning with someone who intentionally goes against popular opinion because he/she wants to be "different."

Josh Griffith will be fired soon, I can almost feel it. I mean they gave Maria a Co-HW, when she sucked and ratings were tanking. The next logical step is getting rid of Griffith if the ratings don't improve, and truth be told the blame is on Griffith this time. It's evident that he wants Y&R to become "The Gloria Hour." I even recall an interview where he gushed about Judith Chapman and how essential she was to the show.

Griffith isn't a hands-on producer outside of the writing. Y&R needs someone who is, Shaughnessy was, Smith was, Scott was, Kenney was, and Conboy was. I know many of you hate her, but say what you want about Jill Farren Phelps, but she's very active in the various departments on her shows. She also has very innovative ideas storyline-wise, I think paired with the right writer, she'd be a good fit at Y&R. Y&R used to have a very dark sense of self, which she does well. She's also brilliant with production and getting the best performances out of her actors. Y&R needs someone like that right now.

I hope you're right about JG getting the axe. He doesn't know the show and it's evident.

Now, when it comes to Hitler...ahem, Jill Farren Phelps. I agree. The majority of what's happened to GH is not her doing. I simply don't believe she'd sabotage a show the way GH has been. It's Frons, all Frons. JFP does do brilliant production work, the old Y&R music is right up her alley, she loves a good glamor soap (look what she did with AW's budget, turned pigskin into silk) and does get great performances out of her actors. What she needs is a boss and a headwriter who are tougher than she is in order to keep her in line and sadly I don't know if such people exist! She is a producer with a 'vision' whether that vision is right for Y&R is anyone's guess. I think she's the last person the Bells would want at their show and the last person a lot of actors would want at the show too. I can't see EB, MTS, JC, JW, PB actually being happy to see her unless they knew that JFP loved each and every one of them, she plays favorites after all.

That being said, JFP is an expert 'show runner'...my concern is that she'd be just as tyrannical as LML, something I don't think any of the actors would ever tolerate again. Quite frankly, David Shaughnessy is the answer. I'd be happy to have Ed Scott back if he isn't happy at DAYS.

Unfortunately, I think it's Sony who picks the EP's and HW's for Y&R. I think if it were up to the Bell's, Hogan wouldn't be there. When Griffith is fired (and he will be!), Steve Kent will be the one hiring Y&R's next EP. Whether it's Shaughnessy or someone else, who knows. I know he worked with Jill Farren Phelps at SB, and rumors are saying she's not getting along too well with Frons and Guza at GH, I bet Kent wouldn't hesitate to hire her. Jill can play "favourites," but I think even the dumbest person knows what an ensemble show Y&R is and how the vets are essential to the show's well-being. When JFP was at GL, she kept it as an ensemble show, and under Nancy Curlee's writing and JFP's show running, the show thrived for those couple of years. I can see a writer like Hogan especially working very well with someone like her. As you said, she has a vision, whether its good or bad. However, with Y&R's budget, I think she'd make the show look visually stimulating again, the music would improve, and the actors would all be on the A game. Y&R desperately needs a strong, fierce, and determined show-runner. I have my reservations about JFP, but I think Y&R needs a visionary EP right now, and she's someone who falls into that category. If only the writing team could get it together and be paired with someone like her.

Out of curiousity, how do you know Babs is the one who likes her? Are you sure it isn't JG or MAB? Or all of the above? (Whoever it is, they have impeccable taste. ;)) Also, I think Colleen IS about to get a big storyline. Now that she is working for Kevin, I think they're going to go the "CoKe" route again. Maybe they will wait until Lily's story dies down and all is well in Lanesville, but it will happen.

I do NOT go against popular opinion just to be different - I simply don't always agree with the majority. So sue me. And from what I have read on other boards, TS, CK and AH have more fans than you think.

I take back what I said about Ed Scott if it was that upsetting.

Name these boards. All the positive-skewing boards I've visited, the response to these actors is lukewarm at best.

Who cares? Isn't that what you think anyway, since you "don't always agree with the majority." Again, you're undermining your own credibility, which is why myself and others find it hard to take your opinions seriously.

You've got it. It's Sony that's making the big decisions. MAB is in there only by the grace of Lee Phillip Bell probably tearing a strip off Steve Kent. Hogan is a Sony move...my best is that they'd rather use him than pay is contract at DAYS.

Hiring JFP would be a risk. A BIG risk. But one that could pay off handsomely, at this point Y&R needs someone who can storm in, fire everyone who is useless, hire the best of everything and hit the ground running. JFP 'could' be that EP. It's true that her time at GL was good (ditto SB and AW), yet of course there was Beverlee McKinsey's exit during that period as well. I think JFP is the kind of EP who works for 'the company'...she isn't an actor's friend, she's an actor's boss. And fair enough, that's her job. She's certainly had actors who adore her (Linda Dano for one and if Linda likes someone, I don't see why others shouldn't).

If the rumors of JFP not getting along with Frons are true...well...I might welcome her more readily. I'm just a bit concerned about how control freakish she'd be.

That's exactly the type of person Y&R needs right now. JFP comes to mind because she often fires useless actors, spearheads getting rid of useless characters, breaks up horrible couples, and of course there's the aesthetic changes she's good at. I can't think of anyone else in daytime who can bring all of that to a show (whether you like her decisions or not.)

CK is very popular on every board I visit (Sony, CBS, SOC, Soaps.com), especially since Lane began.

AH definitely has her fans. In a recent "who is the better Victoria" poll on the Sony board, AH won over HT (not by a landslide, but she did win).

TS has her fans too - granted, there isn't an overwhelming number of them yet, but that's because she has yet to have her "defining storyline", as AL did with Cadrian.

I just have to ask this - why does everyone here get so snappy when someone posts an unpopular opinion? At other boards I visit, all opinions are generally respected.

    • I had forgotten this. I guess it must have been for Peter, unless it was for Hart's abs.
    • Yes both were real highlights of the last two episodes.
    • She's been featured way more since the reveal than Nicole has.
    •       I don't agree that we're supposed to like Dani in obnoxious mode. I think Dani was written over-the-top intentionally for the first few weeks of episodes, to get the viewers to be evenly divided as to like/dislike the character. I don't think Dani is being written over-the-top or obnoxious anymore. I think Dani is now more of a background character who is being assertive but still in the background of Nicole.  Nicole is the lead of the show.
    • +1 - She and Ambyr go above and beyond the scripts they’re given.

date: Tuesday, May 13 | Sara A. Bibel, Jazmen Darnell Brown | Anthony Pascarelli So Deadbeat's secret has to do with a car accident? At least Nicole is getting dressed. That's a sign of good things to come. Eva looks gorgeous in her sparkling pink number. Very age-appropriate and fashionable. So, Douglas is back to his gambling addictions and lying to Vanessa, and here comes Joey, ready to fully cash in on the debt owed to him. Jan, you look gullible, but do not let Dana continue to trick you into believing her sob story, because it's just that: a story. If you're going to eavesdrop on someone, maybe do not make it so apparent (i.e., the new character: Kenny). But at least Deadbeat isn't running for president anymore. That's a sigh of relief. Anastasia, the town gossip, is a mood. Hoping she's an occasional guest when things need to be spiced up a bit. So, Deadbeat is no hero? This is alluding to this big, bad secret that's being harboured. Interesting. "You is kind, you is smart, you is important." We love historical references, this time to The Help. Oh, the showdown face; Nicole's slight eyebrow lift at the sight of Ted and Eva. If Vanessa knew she'd be showing up with Dani, then she really should have given them a heads up about who was at the country club. Not Derek just throwing his nasty, dirty shirt on the ground. I would be completely pissed off... and I guarantee he's using all of the steamy hot water, and I would absolutely off him. He and his ugly-ass chair would be out of the home. Oh, so everyone knows about Anastasia, and I do adore her. She gives me Leanna Love from Y&R, but even juicier. Eva, don't beg Dana for forgiveness; she manipulated you most of all... and you deserve better. So Anatasia wants lip filler? Or is she hinting at something else...? Well, well, well... Joey's true colours are finally coming out, and not going to lie... I believe him. Dana putting on a show that makes her look even more psychotic than she actually is. Dougie boy, do not sell out Vanessa and her business. The anvils dropping about Dana's future in Fairmont Crest keep coming out more and more. Months to build debt and one week to pay it off? Sounds about right to me. Notes: Karla Mosley (Dani) was right during the premiere week: Dani would be leveled out, and these last few episodes have showcased that. It's nice seeing Mosley showcase some good range and the capability of everyday range, as well. Jon Lindstrom (Joey) is showing what a capable actor he is; GH only barely tapped into that during the long-winded, dragged-out Kevin Chamberlain revisit. Ambyr Michelle (Eva) continues to be the undisputed standout amongst the cast. She's going places. Brandon Claybon (Martin) and Ben Gavin (Derek) continue to be standouts in the most needing of being recast, immediately. We've now got a second year under our belt, so now is the time to tweak the casting on both roles. Although Derek could easily be written out via a fire or emergency via his job.
    • Typo as I am referring to Dani alone.
    • She's jealous and resentful that Bill didnt fight for her the way Ted is for Nicole
    • Trisha makes it so hard to hate Leslie. Missy is just getting started to unravel. Can not wait.
