I've been noticing that Susan Flannery has been losing weight. This past week on B&B I thought she was looking much better. The pictures with Kim Zimmer cement my view, good for Susan, lightening up will undoubtedly make her feel good!

I think, when and if she retires from B&B, she'll direct. I think she likes it. I think going back to acting will be hard.

How bizarre.

And I've just remembered Ellen Wheeler's guest stint in B&B in the 90s when she tried to throttle Stephanie in the loony bin.

Am I the only one surprised that Zimmer and Wheeler are walking closely together?

After Zimmer's dissing of Wheeler as the "executive director", and asking if TPTB hate "Reva" or "Kim" more...I don't know...I guess I would have thought that Flannery might have been in the middle, with the two GL ladies separated.

Also, both Zimmer AND Flanner look thinner to me. This may mean that their show wardrobes aren't showing them off to best effect.....

Now we can fire Birgit Müller and hire someone who can dress S. Flannery. A show about fashion that is totally 'fashionless'...

I thought Flannery looked beautiful at the wedding. I wish she'd let them put her in a fabulous gown to seduce Eric. Even with the hair and added points, I think she's a beautiful woman. Reminds me of the sort of natural beauty Barbara Bel Geddes had in her older years.

I mean, I don't ask for another Edith Head, Adrian or Givenchy, but this is just beyond awful. One dress won't save her.

I remember reading a quote from Muller that she makes the pantsuits for Flannery in a variety of colours because she "likes them" or somesuch. The problem is that she's dressing Stephanie Forrester, not Susan Flannery.

I also find it strange that blame could easily be laid at Flannery's feet for the character's appearance, yet she looks so much better in real life. I just don't understand what the deal is.

As far as her hair is concerned, I understand that after her cancer treatment it is probably a lot thinner than it used to be but the show makes no effort. In fact it's almost as if they go out of their way to make her look as bizarre as possible.

I am puzzled by Müller's comment and it is just another reason to get rid of her. Stephanie just looks awful... And not only she, pretty much everyone is either nothing special or lingering on awful.

She also lost any sense of movement on the stage and looks clumsy and totally unsophisticated.

Very true. That's something I just attributed to age and periods of ill health yet in her Australian TV appearances, she was absolutely fine. What I think contributes to it is Flannery's probable boredom. It's like she's so tired of it that she trundles around the sets in her comfy shoes as if she's doing a rehearsal or read through -- particularly in the past few months. It's almost as if she's not in the same show as the rest of the cast.

As has been mentioned, she's a fantastic actress and still an attractive woman. There just needs to be some acknowledgement that Stephanie Forrester is a character as opposed to complacently basking in the kudos of having Susan Flannery in the cast.

It's a great irony that B&B is fashion oriented yet the styling and costuming is so completely blah. For the women they tend to opt for either frump or tramp with very little in between.

Thank God someone mentioned it! I thought I was the only one thinking that way! But, frankly, no wonder since the show has been recycling the same type of stories for years and she's probably given up on any chance for having a story that would showcase her real dramatic talents. She is superb.

Again, I agree. With a budget they have and Lauralee's connections, they could really get their act together regarding this.

And don't get me started on the fashion lines and fashion shows... A travesty.

    • I did not care, just clarifying that was the discussion point. If there are ice cream bars in Statesville I am sure there is a full spa
    • Seeing Peter Bergman (Jack) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) act opposite each other really makes me mad that their short-lived reunion in 2012 was just that... short-lived. I've always loved the Jack/Nikki pairing.
    • No.  I recall there was also a mention about how distracting it was EOB's Gwen wasn't wearing nail polish as well.  That it was someone's pet peeve. And, yes, the fact characters can have a manicure in prison is the wildest continuity issue here.
    • Can anyone remember Mary Ellen Stuart's run as Jenny? I'm trying to fill in the cracks for missing stuff that we overlooked.  Bulletpoints:  * Dated Ross * Rusty's police partner * Directly responsible for Dinah coming forward about George Stewart (Cam's father)
    • But that's not weird... nail polish is allowed in prisons via commissary. Same with general makeup, haircuts, and hair colouring products.
    • This is DAYS, the show that said you could brainwash anyone with simple kitchen appliances.  An actor's nail polish or lack thereof should be the least of our concerns, lol.
    • It was not that she wasn't wearing nail polish, it is that she managed to get a manicure in prison
    • "We're Knot Done Yet": the name of this lovely podcast AND what JVA tells her plastic surgeon at every appointment. In other news, Michele Lee is reminding me more and more of my old music teacher from elementary school, and I couldn't STAND that bitch.
    • I apologize if this has been covered already, but does anyone know whether Douglas Marland was HW'ing by that point?  If he was, then I see what he meant when he said (in so many words) that he had inherited a mess when he started at GH.  Aside from Alan and Monica, none of that material seems very promising.  The story with Mark Dante and the Corbins is the wrong kind of predictable (y'know, the kind where you know what's going to happen, but you just don't give a crap?), the stuff with Scotty and Laura is cute but toothless, I don't know WHAT the hell Gina and Steve Carlson's character are arguing about and Rick Webber has to be the dumbest man alive not to see David Hamilton twirling his invisible moustache over how to make a killing off Lamont Corbin's declining health.  (By the way, "LAMONT CORBIN"?  What is this, "The Shadow"?  And "Corbin Limited" sounds like some jive I'd hear over on Y&R.) In a way, it's kind of like watching today's GH, right down to the dialogue that's serviceable and pushes plot along but says nothing about the characters' inner lives.
    • It absolutely was; the narrative was there, and they followed it promptly. Maybe that's back when women had babies at young ages?!?!?
