Finally to the Lionel and Sophia one night stand. I've said it before, I'll say it again, the show DID NOT PLAY THAT FOR ALL IT’S WORTH! Holy cow, that triangle could have been fuel for years.

I know that they sort of went there with CC constantly throwing it in her face, but they should have REALLY went there.

Augusta was just kidnapped and her captors already regret this. Lol. Robert is also kidnapped, but his kidnappers don't regret it.

Which makes me wonder, if you were going to kidnap a character, which would be the easiest and who would you never kidnap?

I wouldn't kidnap Gina, because they'd probably pay me to NOT give her back.

Julia is out because she is on par with Augusta.

CC would kill me with his bare hands.

Lionel would be delightful and get in on the scheme. So he's going to be my pick

You've covered Julia, Augusta, and Gina so:

Eden - instantly no - she's got that psychic connection to Cruz and he would rescue her within a day, no cell phone needed

Kelly - she's already freed herself from an old western town, and she avoided ever being captured by Flame, so she's out

Laken - the Lockridge's never had that kind of liquidity to come up with a reasonable ransom

Santana - too high maintenance and I don't have access to pharmaceuticals

Brandon - he's already been kidnapped many times before and he's a willy little bastard

Minx - she'll kill your pet for an appetizer and she's has a potion of youth, so she's got nothing to loose

Sophia - would disguise herself as a man and escape due to her knowledge of all of the underground tunnels in Santa Barbara

Thus, I agree it's got to be Ted - my only concern is that it would take weeks before anyone realized he was missing...

Yes! Thank you for playing with me. I was watching this at work because it's a very slow time for me, but I'm trying to stay quiet. Then the kidnapper (poor fella) asked Augusta if she wanted some pizza. She started yelling, "Do I look like pizza people? No. I'm french wine and Russian caviar people. Pizza people park my car for me." And not laughing was the hardest part of that. Between that and her calling the Blue Sky Brigade "The little blue people".

@Marissa Gallant re Cassandra- when I watched this live I was 13 or 14- I was really into Cassandra's storylines with Mason and Warren, but I don't think I was old enough to really understand the mix of love/hate or whatever went on in those relationships. I was an angsty teenager though, so that aspect of it appealed to me lol. I have not rewatched it since, so I only vaguely remember though.

So is the consensus the last Laken - Shell D - was the best? I just watched a clip and she seems the best actress maybe?

Maybe this doesn't make sense. But I think Julie Ronnie was a bad actress (really terrible, one of the worst from the regular cast) but I was interested on Laken and Ted during her years.

Meanwhile I think Susan Marie Snyder was quite good as an actress, but she was not Laken at all. It was another character. She didn't make any sense.

And about Shell Danielson. She was also quite good as an actress (probably the best as you say), but Laken was zero interesting.

About the consensus: I'm not sure but I think most of the fans would choose Julie Ronnie as the best Laken.

Luckily, EJ and Johnny, and pretty much every other character saved today’s episode.  I didn’t expect Javi to be the one to save Sarah though, and I don’t mind it at all, because if it means that Javi is finally going to get his own identity/character, away from his douchy bf, I’m all for it. Javi’s scenes would’ve been a lot better had it not been for him. EJ and Johnny were the best part of today. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats and I’m so looking forward to seeing them play out. And now that EJ knows that Johnny is going to work for Xander, that opens up another dynamic to their storyline and to the Kiriakis family storylines as well. Tying them all together could be really good. There are so many story possibilities that can come out of this. And I thought Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.  I also liked that Johnny was there to comfort Chanel after everything that happened with Sarah. They’re so good together. But I do have mixed feelings about Chanel possibly forgiving Johnny so quickly. Hopefully, the question that she asked him at the end of today leads to more conflict for the two of them.  And yeah, still no changes in Alex’s character lol
    • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab the episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). The full HD version of ep.3170 is on YouTube channel:

    • Well, since I'm still up unexpected past my growing-into-it bedtime. lol.   I finally got to rewatch Monday's. I even rewatched Friday's to take it all in. Now that we got the reveal and hit the climax of the SilkPress Sheila storyline, now we get to watch the aftermath and/or turns that come with its climax. So far, so good. Friday left us with three cliffhangers. And what I found surprising was how I felt about them over a rewatch.    I know some of you all felt a way about the dialogue during Kat vs Eva. I remember liking it more the first time around and it was nice for them to have these scenes to establish more of a frenemy vibe for them going forward. That still held up. But I found myself agreeing with you all about that dialogue. lol. Still, it was nice to have both of their POVs.   Second up was Silk Press Sheila vs the Duprees. And I was happy to get a brief spat with Dani in there. But the rest standouts for me was Anita and Martin. Haters can hate and given the tail end of the episode, I will agree to a fault, but Brandon has impressed and he was on fire on Monday and had great subtle work on Friday. And that subtle work made it all the better. Like I believe I said when I was watching...BC has a much better grip on his character and seems to be realizing what his tics are so has started to be able to know when to turn it up and when to dial it down. And for the most part (emphasis on most), he got that. Meanwhile, TT was giving fierceness, and I was here for every minute of it. Her reading SilkPress. Her being quip about it. Her 'BE STILL.' Ooooo she had a chokehold on me as Anita gave what I was expecting her to SilkPress. WORTH THE WAIT. I also loved Vernon's CHOOSE SILENCE. I wonder though if SilkPress will figure out Martin's condition from her observing Anita and Vernon with him.   And speaking of worth it...Oooo YES Nicole vs Ted was worth totally worth it. Oooooo I knew DD would nail it, and it was all so well done. The fight between the part of Nicole who is a therapist vs Nicole as a woman who wants to express how she feels. And being so angry. And how there would be moments when it would shoot out of her. And how she would restrain herself. But how she felt she should not be restrain. Just the levels of processing and layers. And DD played it all so well. I do wish Maurice gave just a little bit more, but overall, I thought he did a good job even if it was just Ted coming across as a deadbeat and not at all redeemable. And Kat being there for her mother was so beautiful.   Minority, but I love the montage though yes, it did run a little long. Given how the Duprees like to bond (and also as I mentioned from my own very recent family experiences), it did not seem out of place to me.     That said...let's see how the aftermath worked in today's episode. Overall. Cuz RC can be hit or miss.
    • I wonder whose brilliant (

) idea it was to do an almost complete rip-off of the "who killed Tom King"-storyline. That's some quality style writing right there.....
