But what’s the source? Is there any interview where Rob Reiner says that?

Because I watch a Chelsea Lately show where she said that to Robin about Rob Reiner. But it looked like a joke.

And Rob Reiner first met Robin Wright early 1984 (before Santa Barbara) because she auditioned for ‘The Sure Thing’ and Reiner didn’t like Robin Wright and her bad audition.

And then there’s  the book of Janet Hirshenson and Jane Jenkins (casting directors of ‘The Princess Bride’) named ‘A Star is Found’ where they explain the casting process of ‘The Princess Bride’ and they tell Rob Reiner didn’t want to meet again with Robin Wright because he remembered her from ‘The Sure Thing’ audition and didn’t like her at all.

I wish I could post the pages of the book here.

Well, duh!  ;-)

I would just add the word "officially," to that...  And unofficially, this means that all 3 Mason Capwells enjoyed the company of men - allegedly.

Btw, love Gordon Thompson, and agree with his assessment of the culturally-vacant Dynasty 2.0...

P.S. - Just finished reading the entire article... what a wonderful, enlightening interview!

Premiere of the new Capwell manor:

I always wondered (when reading) why SB fans hated the redesign of the manor so badly. Personally, I thought the new set was better than the old design. It actually looked like a real home for once. I never understood why that ugly fountain and gaudy foyer was so beloved by fans.

For the record... Davies does not identify as gay, has been married to a woman - and I believe is in a longterm relationship with a woman presently.

But when it's the 80's, and you're spending almost a year touring other parts of the world, just you & your hunky co-star together... sometimes on a boat.... and it's the 80's...

I've read that "article" before. It's just so preposterous. I'm guessing that this writer is French? The "quotes" are painfully fictional or at minimum, wildly misinterpreted...

That she was for the first year or so- AND that of the entire cast over the years, she is the one that SB launched into legitimate stardom.  It's actually a very telling story for actors that consider soaps to be a "training ground."  With all of the cast turnover in those 9 years, SB only launched one actual star.  Sure some actors that left did get work in other mediums, but the ratio when you factor in the ones that left to pursue greener pastures doesn't bode well for leaving a soap for fame and fortune.

    • Yep Edmund and Tad went under cover to infiltrate the... Willow Lake (I think?) old folks community scandal that was exploiting Phoebe, etc.  (Which at one point led to Edmund rescuing Brooke from quicksand--common around Pine Valley I guess

) EDIT maybe I'm wrong.  I found the quicksand scene

But for the story all I can find is Edmund going undercover as the gigolo "preying" on older women, Eduardo (no one would recognize him with that disguise and name ) so the drag must have been.. a different story?
    • But then he HATES the original Heather Webber (Cher's half sister played her, right?) and we know what happened when Robin would step into the role a year after this.  He does seem pretty spot on about actors who show promise otherwise.  It's interesting he knocks OLTL early on (though I loved all the recently released episodes from this era we got) but does give a lot of credit to the actress playing Cathy despite earlier complaining about her story.  And over all, while quite negative, his various pros and cons on the shows sounds about right with what I know of the shows at this time. This was a July dated issue of the magazine but and I know they date mags a month or two in advance--obviously when he wrote this he didn't know Lovers and Friends was gonna go off the air (in May I think).
    • You know one of the soap outlets posed that question just last week: Who do you want Trina with Spencer or Kai? And, of course, the picture of Spencer was NAC. I said, well, a lot. I chose Kai. I said that Spencer had been an entitled brat & that some people valued him over her, when I valued her above all others. I guess we'll see.
    • You're right. The only thing I can think of is if GH finally decides to bring back Spencer.
    • Sharon Rose Gabet told me on Facebook that she calls this "Baby Raven".
    • I imagine the storyline would now segue into Laura's accident. But I hope they manage to keep Leslie around though. I really don't want her to be written out, or get the DOOL treatment where she just pops up every so often to cause some short term trouble; the character and the actor were such a find.

    • You're welcome! I can't wait to read what your thoughts are... when and if you get into it, of course. "The Mansion Of The Damned" is amazing. It has everything - thriller, horror, crime, drama, soapy madness. Then as soon as it ends... you get Raven's return... which re-starts the whole show for me. So... I'm really happy for you! You're in for a treat.
