Shields' Rep Denies Fake Tan Halted 'Lipstick Jungle' Filming

REUTERS/Phil McCarten (UNITED STATES)

Brooke Shields' representatives have hit back at reports she has stalled filming on her latest TV show, "Lipstick Jungle," because of her excessive use of fake tanner.

The star was accused of lathering herself in fake tan by the show's guest star Leven Rambin, stating the actress was desperate to sport a bronzed look for scheduled sex scenes.

Rambin claims Shield went overboard with a tanning agent, turning herself orange and halting further filming on series.

However, Rambin's claim has been refuted by a spokesperson for Shields, who tells MSNBC.com's The Scoop the actress has never used self-tanning products: "This is totally not true. I don't think Brooke has ever even used self-tanner, much less allowed herself to turn orange from it. Please."

**a couple of things***

1. Why does Leven even care?

2. I lost respect for her

3. I want her now gone from AMC

What business is it of hers to comment on the status of Shields' show? Brooke should still be praised by millions for being brave enough to tell her story on suffering post partum depression and raising awareness on it.

Have you read Shields' book Down Came The Rain: My Journey Through Post Partum Depression? It is wonderful! She describes basically how I felt a couple of weeks after 9/11: sad, depressed, worthless, hated by people.

So I went to a doctor, he put me on Paxil, and in a couple of weeks I was back to my old self! ;)....9/11 happened during my senior year of high school. Thankfully, the above (worthless, hated) were not true. And I turned out to be the most popular person in my graduating class ;)

She also spoke out about Britney Spears at Fashion Week, despite the fact that people she was with told her to keep her mouth shut.

She is so talented in the role of Lily, but she is letting this fame go to her head. I get so sad when I read more and more news about her becoming one of the girls on the scene.

SOW (or SOD?) strongly hinted that something went down between Jeff and Leven and that's why Jeff would not finish out the remainder of his contract (although no doubt he was leaving in May anyways and he was unhappy with the writing so I doubt he cares too much).

I think if it's true then Julie Carruthers did it as a favor to Jeff knowing what a pain LR is...as opposed to Julie siding with Leven over Jeff.

Anyone else remember Leven making a big deal out of Jeff changing places at the AMC fan club luncheon a couple of years ago to sit with Chrishell Stause (which made sense to do since Jonathan was involved with Amanda at the time)?

And while this is purely anecdotal, a friend of mine was at the studio the day that AMC was officially given that "made in New York" honor and said that Leven was a real b*tch. Julie Carruthers was trying to talk to her and Leven kept brushing her off quite rudely because she was on her cell phone. And she was apparently throwing herself at James Scott the whole time!

Hello! She's a teenager! Why is everybody acting like she's supposed to be this refined, classy, dignified actress with a great wealth of life and world experience?

Damn. She's acting like a kid and making mistakes like a kid because... SHE'S A KID! The show shouldn't have been pairing a 30 year old actor with a 15 year old any damn way.

ummmm...Martha Bryne anyone?? She was a teenager and she didnt act like Ramblin does. I never liked Lily/Ava character. Maybe it was because of the way Rambin came off. I dont think she is all that of an actress either.

    • Oh, I see! You posted this on the general retro soap thread because of the voiceover.
    • Yeah, I agree. It's part of the reason I have shade picked on Martin's Secret being so on the backburner that it was about to fall off of it. With Dani/Bill/Hayley being the main tale to start us off and backburned and the SilkPress storyline being well paced, but not set to explode until May, Martin's Secret was the other main storyline that could have been developed. And after giving it a nice slow burn to start off, the story upped and vanished in Month 2. That left the show having to rely on mostly B/C stories to stay afloat to various degrees of success.
    • I loved those scenes, lol. I thought I was watching a stage play. But I do hear what you're saying.
    • Jason47's episode summaries clarify everything. https://daytimeroyaltyonline.com/days-daily-summaries-1990-1999-t14806-s150.html The construction company is "AJ Construction" (AJ = Adrienne+Justin).   Jencon Oil was building an oil refinery at the construction site.  This was adjacent to the park. Kirk Geiger played the character Chad Webster. The character Chad was an actor in the movie being made.   The child friend with Shawn-Douglas is his cousin Andrew Donovan. A few episodes prior, Andrew and Shawn-Douglas were at the park playing hide-and-seek. They wandered off where they shouldn't have gone, by slipping through the gate onto the construction site.  Shawn-D fell into the hole at the oil refinery. There were several episodes of trying to rescue Shawn-D.  Finally Carly rescued Shawn-D, but he was discovered to be deaf.  Andrew felt bad, but Bo and Shane both understood that it was an accident.  Carly later taught Shawn-D sign language. Shawn-D was played by Scott Groff. Andrew was played by Bradley Michael Pierce. pics here: https://web.archive.org/web/20070404163013/http://www.childrenofsalem.com/days/kids/shawnandrew/shawnandrew.html Larger context here: https://web.archive.org/web/20080614054207/http://www.bethsdayspage.com/days/riverfrontraider.htmlhttps://web.archive.org/web/20080614054207/http://www.bethsdayspage.com/days/riverfrontraider.html
    • I had a situation last week where I could watch the new episode on Paramount Plus on my laptop, but it wasn't even listed on my TV as an option.

    • I'm trying to think whether AW had anything remotely resembling that once Steve was killed off and Alice left a widow. So many young love stories were wrapped up either by marrying and leaving town or marrying and killing off one party. Maybe they acted in the final year as if Vicky and Jake had been that couple all along, but they both had better other mates along the way and also Jake was actively hostile to Vicky at too many points without any subtext of caring about her.
