Y&R: Actress Out

Tammy Lauren, who plays detective Maggie Sullivan on Y&R, confirmed via the official Homefront message board that she'll be exiting Y&R. Her last scenes have apparently been taped.

My thoughts: I guess this is good news, since Tammy was a friend of Latham's and was only supposed to be on for 5 episodes, but she became a regular recurring actress on the show. It seems that they're trying to purge the show of friends's of Latham's anyway...

I agree with them getting rid of Latham's creation, but I don't think Maggie was the worse of LML's creations. I liked Tammy Lauren and I liked Maggie. She was boring as hell, but that could be taken care of with someone that wants to give the character a direction and a personality. I thought that Tammy had chemistry with Doug Davidson's Paul. Maggie would probably one of the last LML characters I'd get rid of.

First would be Adrian, then Australian Colleen. A year ago, I would have wanted Cane gone, but he doesn't bother me anymore, and I actually like him with Lily. It really does remind me of Ryan McNeil and Victoria's relationship from long ago. Jeff Bardwell needs to go as well. And hopefully without him, we could stop seeing all of this voodoo crap that Kevin and Gloria are stuck with. Jana needs to go as well.

Who am I missing?

This is fine with me. She and Paul had potential, but that ship has sailed. I just hope they plan on giving him something bigger and better.

Looks like she left mainly because her dear old pal was fired...

This is what she posted on the Homefront message board:

OK. I'll be honest, I hate writing this post.

I have opted not to return to Y+R. Let me explain.

As the strike ended, work offers have begun to come in for me and with no storyline plans for the near future, it seemed very foolish to pass on other work in return for the occasional date on Y+R. Daytime work pays so much less than prime time work/film for me and I've turned down quite a bit of work over the past year when it conflicted with my schedule at Y+R. Why was simple - it is quite something in show business to work in an atmosphere with people who have been working together for decades. The feeling of family is very strong, versus a prime time show that is lucky to last 5 seasons. Also, I feel enormous loyalty to Lynn and Doug. Now, Lynn is gone and while I'm still loyal to Doug, he is a daytime star that needs no help from me. I felt strongly it was time to exit while I still had great memories. I made this decision in early Feb. I have avoided coming to this board to let you all know because I didn't want to let down anyone that has been following my character on Y+R. I'm sorry, I will miss you all and hope the new team delivers a great Paul story for you soon.

Bakerlou - Catonsville 9 - I filled in for Michelle Stafford at the last minute. I had no rehearsal but I started in theatre so it was pretty easy to slip back into it.

Mathys - I don't know why they posed Ted and I together at the cast photo. I remember Doug being irked about it because it made no sense. Ted had his arms around me because Ted and I are good friends and he was in a silly mood.

Thanks for the great comments, everyone about the article/my time on the show. If I forgot anyone's questions, please forgive me. I'm still catching up on reading the posts here. I just sorta wanted to get right down to the "I've left" part before I read the posts through thoroughly and answered.

I will check in more often, I did let it go a bit this last time (I have been crazy busy, Steve!) and will update all here that are interested when projects now get close to airing.

xoxo

THANX!!

is Y&R the only show to do cast photo's every year now?

It is a good photo. I LOLed at amber being in the center.

Tracy, Michelle, & Sharon look beautiful.

Jess & MTS are fierce as hell.

Not a bad actress, actually I quite like Tammy Lauren.

However, the character was effing dreadful, another of LML's hideous creations! So long and good luck to Ms Lauren but good riddance to anything and anyone associated with LML!
