All of the ABC soaps need new openings, I was expecting GH to get a new opening on April 1st when it turns 45.

Same here with OLTL when it turns 40 on July 15th.

I agree, GH doesn't have a problem with letting talented actresses go...especially love interests for Sonny. Maybe now that Skye is away they could pair Ric with Kate, but I fear that Megan Ward join the list of actresses who are sacrificed for the sake of Sonny and Carly.

I have a feeling that they will pair Kate and Ric together, it would add drama to the Sonny/Ric rivalry and keep Megan on the show.

Updated openings or brand new ones? I like AMC's opening just fine but they are going to have to update it with adding in Jesse, Angie, Frankie (I believe he is contract), MVP and taking out Jonathan, Sean, Del

Part of me hopes that AMC will retain its current opening, and I'm holding out hope that the lack of new-look bumpers for AMC causes me to think that they might want to stick with their current format, as it is a really good fit for the show.

However, I'm overjoyed that OLTL will be updating that mess they call an opening, and ditto for GH...both of them are too busy and need honed down. I think GH's new logo will be the one they show on the soaps 411 on the website, with the heart monitor and the red and blue background, while OLTL will revert back to it's old logo with the 'one' with 'life to live' below, in smaller writing.

Devoted, it's supposed to be all new, they just updated AMC's. I hope they keep the same kind of thing for AMC, the photo album opening is the best of all the ABC soaps IMO.

I bet they're giving D&D bumpers so maybe that's why they're holding off.

The sooner the better. Maybe this time they'll cut out the recurring characters and actors who haven't been on the show in ages. Luke getting up to go pee needs a retooling too. And 2 versions would be nice. I hope no epileptic sits through the current one, because it would give seizures to someone without a medical condition. Don't cram everyone into a short opening, and you don't get that problem.

I hope AMC doesn't change their opening.. I would like to see newer shots of Kendall, Erica etc..., but I like the style.

I totally agree with you. AMC's opening has the most originality of all the ABC soaps, I also believe that the whole photo album concept is probably the best ever created in daytime. It is just so appropriate for AMC and it stays with tradition, something that most soaps have forgotten about - except DAYS and perhaps Y&R.

Anyways, if this is true, then I am very excited for the new openings. It will be the 2004 revamp all over again - which could be a good thing or a bad thing.

I never saw the symbolism of Y&R's opening, just the chance to fade characters in and out of an ethereal white haze. It's astounding that DAYS never succumbed to the pressure of using cast shots in over 40 years, but for me that makes it the victor. B&B effectively defines its show through the montage too, but I think it would be better to see the characters readying a fashion show. GH should have done an all-female shot too. I always got the feeling that they didn't matter as long as the stereotypical demographic of hetero women viewers got their eye candy. What the hell are the guys lingering in tuxedos for?

Nope they don't. I was hoping that if they decide to update the current AMC opening with Debbi and Darnell, that they include some classic pics of them two in the photo collage.

I flove Kate. I will be pissed if they get rid of her. Another show that doesn't know what they are doing. Especially since I see this Claudia thing bombing big time.

I think GH is making a huge mistake bringing Sarah Brown back as a new character. They're banking on her popularity and the chemistry she has between SB and MB but I don't think it's going to translate into sustained ratings. Sarah is Carly Benson. LW turned Carly into her version, albeit with some success, but with the two actresses on at the same time is going to be a hard sell.
