WHAT JOHN MCCAIN NEEDS TO SAY TONIGHT

1.Barack Obama says that he wants to lower capital gains taxes for small businesses in America. Does anyone see anything wrong with Barack Obama's plan? How about the fact that small businesses in this country don't pay capital gains taxes, they pay income taxes. And guess what? Barack Obama wants to raise income taxes on anyone making over $250,000 a year, and that includes you small business owners or the person you work for.

2.Do you realize that under a Barack Obama administration, his tax policies will be dictated by what the government deems to be fair or neighborly? They will decide how much of your money you actually "need," and the rest is subject to seizure. Oh, that paying higher taxes is "patriotic." Since when is it the government's job to decide how much of your money you should be allowed to keep?

3.Just yesterday I made a speech outlining how Democrat policies, supported by Barack Obama led to the mortgage meltdown in this country. It was the Democrats who, for years, opposed any type of reform. I called for this reform back in 2006. President Bush asked for this reform. But the Democrats didn't want it. They wanted to continue funding subprime mortgages because that was the American dream.

4.And speaking of these subprime mortgages ... have any of you ever heard of a little organization called ACORN? I bet you Barack Obama has heard of it. Because he worked with ACORN as a community organizer. (Oh wait, I'm not supposed to say that. Now I am racist ... ) But it was organizations like ACORN that would bully and coerce banks into making subprime mortgages to people who should be renters.

5.My opponent has proposed nearly one million dollars in pork spending – we call them earmarks now – for every day he's served in the U.S. Congress. I've been here for decades, and haven't asked for one dollar of pork.

My running mate, Governor Sarah Palin, resigned a government position so that she could go after a member of her own party engaged in corrupt activities in Alaska. Barack Obama has a history of supporting the corrupt political machine that helped him rise to prominence in Chicago.

WEAK

Obama counters with McCain's relationship with Charles Keating. How easy is this to handle? It is just this simple.

Charles Keating was not KNOWN to be a corrupt businessman when his relationship with McCain began. Bill Ayers WAS known to be a terrorist when his relationship with Obama began. If you buddy up with someone who later turns out to be a crook, that's one thing. If you begin an association with someone known to already be a crook – in this case a terrorist – that's quite another. Come on, folks. This stuff is so easy. The truth is that the best friend Barack Obama has out there is not a terrorist but is an uninformed celebrity-worshipping electorate.

OBAMA CLAIMS IGNORANCE

Yesterday we talked a lot about the McCain campaigns latest attempts to remind the American people about Barack Obama's associations with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers. Look, we've been through this. You've read the research from Stanley Kurtz and others, you've seen Obama in interviews. They were pals, and no amount of gasping and protesting from Obama changes that.

The latest from Obama advisors is that when Barack Obama first met Bill Ayers in the 1990s, that Obama wasn't aware of Ayers' radical past. Well isn't that convenient. Did Obama read a newspaper while at Columbia in the 1980s, or bother to listen to people in Chicago who regularly cited Bill Ayers – a prominent figure in Chicago – as a an "ex-radical" and "ex-fugitive." It should have been "domestic terrorist" but you get my point.

Obama's advisors are lying. Let The Chosen One take the stage and tell us the he didn't know about Ayers' past when the friendship began.

The fact of the matter is this ... when Barack Obama was being introduced into the political culture in Chicago, he attended a "get-to-know you" event at Bill Ayers' house. Even if we are to believe that Barack Obama had no idea who the guy was, the fact is that he had plenty of years after that to disassociate himself with this man. And yet he chose not to. Sort of like Jeremiah Wright.

John McCain focuses on ISSUES..and the gloves are off..

John McCain has not only dropped the gloves, but he's pulled Obama's jersey over his head and is preparing to slug him right in the gut. Yesterday, at a rally in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he FINALLY talked about our economic troubles and gave credit where credit is due. Now, if he can only do the same in tonight's debate, I think we may see a big shift in the polls.

Is this the same "prediction" you made about Palin's performance last Thursday? Good thing no one took you up on your wager cuz you would be payin' up right about now.

This little incident may raise a few eyebrows..

Anti-Obama author detained in Kenya..no clear reason given..

Yeah. These are more "issues". Right.

Good morning Wales & Greg. I'm home yet again sick :(

Good morning buddy. Hope you're back on your feet soon!

I am sorry you're not feeling well again. I felt a cold coming on Sunday so I drank some hot rum, honey and lemon which I thougjt would knock me out....it didn't but it took care of my throat and I'm back to a lozenge every morning since I've develped allergies.

What do you want to talk about?

My prediction was that the polls would shift back towards McCain. They have. Especially today...have you checked the poll averages at realclearpolitics.com? Take a look at the line chart. Obama is on a downward trend, while McCain is going upward. He has been on the rise since the Biden/Palin debate.

RCP Poll Averages..scroll down for line chart

Yeah. These are more "issues". Right.

I guess not. What exactly is the definition of an issue now? Anything that doesn't involve a negative spin of Obama?

This has been going off and on for about three weeks, but I couldn't call out from work because I was helping do grant writing and whatnot for funding. Finally I get to take some time off and get better.

I'm going to drink some tea with honey & lemon. My mom sent me some ginger root yesterday but it's disgusting to drink, and then there's that whole straining process which is so tedious. I wish I was at my grandma's, she would give me some bootleg, lol.

I'm looking forward to the debate tonight. Knowing that Obama has a solid electoral lead on McCain and is up in the polls gives me hope that Obama will turn in a top notch performance. He can't afford to drop the ball tonight.

Sarah Palin is running off at the mouth at some event in Jacksonville (I think it's Jacksonville) right now.

Good Luck GGL!!!

:lol::lol::lol:

I'll just sit back and read as I work on my love/hate relationship with iTunes. I don't even want to know how McCain stepped on a stool to try to pull anything over Obama's head....the whole notion is ludicrous since he could only try to literally do it.....certainly not figuratively.

Hopefully you wont be in such a joking mood after tonight's debate.

That's true.

And hopefully someone will ask McCain what he meant when he called a certain people "Gooks".

Apparently that seems to be ok with some people.

His papers weren't in order, like most countries, you have to have special permission to be there for whatever it is you're doing.

I seem to have a lot of rum in my cupboard.....don't know how that happened.

I'm not big on ginger and I am not good with mint tea either.

The debate should be more interesting than the first one and McCain should be happy about the Town Hall aspect so maybe he'll be less tense and angry.

How long have you been hiding as a "guest" to wait for me to post, so that you could bring this back up again?

Believe it or not...someone has asked McCain this. Remember it happened 8 years ago, and McCain has apologized..He apologized to the entirety of the Vietnamese people.

Roman, McCain was a POW during a war in which the enemy was referred to as two things, by the soldiers.."gooks" and "charlie".

John McCain (as I have said before) should have known better, he should have known that the usage of "gook" had become more broad. But this was a name that he was used to using to refer to the Viet Kong.

What else do you want me to say about this?? Good grief.
