If it's true that they test market commercials before airing them then the Republican trust didn't do an effective job on their Too Radical Too Risky Rev. Wright ad. The ad doesn't have any pull one way or another...or maybe I'm just indifferent towards it since it does nothing for me period. I don't see the value in running an ad that puts one person down but doesn't offer any sort of alternative.

McCain's campaign was gratified by SNL's parody of Keith Olbermann......that seems pathetic that they addressed that.

 Barack Obama's speech about coal plants and bankruptcy was taken out of context. His aunt is only a half aunt. So why should he know her business since he's not even been around her much of his life and has only met her a few times actually. Poor Kenyan relatives, these relatives are very distant relatives and why sould he know about them. The rest has been talked to death on here and elsewhere proving the GOP/McCain/Palin kool-aid is full of sh!t!!! The days ahead under an Obama presidency will be very, very bright for everyone except terrorists and the uppper 5% paying more taxes. You'll even be better off, unless you're in that upper 5% which I seriously doubt. B)

“I never make any big, big gaffes. I mean, you guys love saying that about me, but I tell you what, just look at the numbers. I don’t have any problem with what I’ve said and there’s nothing I’ve said that I would back off of.” --JOE BIDEN

Also from Joe...

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy..."

Joe Biden on Barack Obama, circa the primaries...

"...a one-term, a guy who has served for four years in the Senate. ... I don't recall hearing a word from Barack about a plan or a tactic."

...and on Obama's readiness to handle a crisis...

"Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy. I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate. And he's gonna need help."

Of course, the list goes on. Biden clearly wouldn't vote for Obama if he wasn't on the ticket, so why should we?

I'm amazed America will be electing a non-US citizen with deep ties to terrorists. Shocking!

Have you guys seen the trailer for this documentary?

I for one, do not trust computers to do the voting. I prefer paper ballots. What can't we go back to those?

Here in Australia all voting is done by a paper ballot.

They are place in a sealed box, once the polling place has closed the boxes are then opened and each vote is checked by hand to make sure that they are vaild and who the vote has been made for. They are then placed in piles of 100, once counted it is phoned through to the main electoral centre for that district and then and only then is it put onto a computer.

If there is any dispute or one of the officials wants a recount it is once again all done by hand, but this time all the votes from that district/area is in the one place.

I just wrote this blog for my MySpace and figured I'd share it here with everyone:

Today’s the day. After what seems like an interminable wait, we finally get to vote for the next President of the United States!

To me, the choice this year is simple: hope versus despair, change versus the status quo, and sadly truth versus lies.

I can’t remember another election season that has had so many lies spread, mainly by the Republican candidate, whom you may recall was called out by the Associated Press two months ago for lying so much. It was the first time in history that the press has ever done that!

Now for the truth, Obama is not a Muslim, nor a Socialist or Communist or Marxist, nor is his plan to “tax and spend”, that old Republican lie that has been around for decades. If you make less than $250,000.00, you would get tax break under Obama, but not under McCain. Think about that when you’re at the polls. Also think about McCain’s plan to tax health care for the first time in America’s history. And before taxing it, he would give only a $5000.00 payment to the health care company of your choice, for a policy that typically costs around $12000.00. Guess who makes up the difference? If you can’t afford it, too bad! Obama, on the other hand, is offering health care for everyone. Obama has been painted as a terrorist for his tenuous association with William Ayers while McCain is close friends with G. Gordon Liddy, whose name you may recall from the Watergate scandal, and who has since been revealed as once plotting terrorist acts against the US including kidnaping and murder. As far as Iraq goes, McCain has publically talked about keeping our troops there until the war is won, up to 100 years if necessary. He also is planning to bomb Iran next. Just like Bush, with whom he voted 90% of the time. Do we need 4 more years of the same?

This is the first time in my life that I have ever been excited about a presidential candidate. Barack Obama epitomizes the intelligence, judgment, foresight and demeanor that we need to lead our country. It has been said repeatedly and sometimes snidely by the Republicans that Obama “acts” presidential. What this means is he doesn’t lose his temper easily and stop everything to do nothing (remember McCain halting his campaign due to the financial crisis when he rushed to Washington and did nothing to help?). We need a leader who will assess the situation and react after talking to his advisers, who hopefully are experts in the field. With McCain, his staff is likely to include the people who are currently advising him in his quest for the White House, most of whom formerly worked for Bush and/or Nixon. Do we trust any of them? Obama, on the other hand, has included former Clinton staffers. Remember how good our economy was in the Clinton years?

Now, I could go on and on about how McCain has run the sleaziest campaign ever and tried to use racism among other tactics or how he proved his lack of judgment in selecting Palin, a woman who saw no problem with charging victims for their rape kit when she was mayor. But lack of time this morning leads to me end this sooner than later.

Is Barack Obama the best candidate ever to run for president? Honestly, I don’t know; however, he is the most charismatic, smartest, best prepared candidate I can recall during my lifetime. He reminds me of John F Kennedy. As I noted above, he also has real ideas of how to heal our nation during this time of economic crisis and he is putting the middle class first, which is exactly the type of president we need. Please go out today and vote for Barack Obama, the only choice in this year’s election!

    • Today was the day everybody recreated the flower ceremony from John and Marlena's 1999 wedding

And once again, it was beautiful. I also couldn't help but laugh though when Brady brought up John's use of his eyebrow whenever he dealt with his kids or grandkids. It's little lighthearted moments like that, that really have helped make these episodes and this tribute so real and genuine. And even though they couldn't get Alison Sweeney back for John's memorial, I'm glad that they came up with the idea to have Eric read a letter from Sami. The way that the letter was written is pretty much what Sami would have said if she had made it back to say goodbye to John.  Marlena and Bo's eulogies were the ones that got me today. I seriously wonder if their's or anyone else's were scripted or improvised. And I agree Bo, John's huge heart and compassion was his true power.

    • Yeah, right, they've got Cam playing Love2Hate Drew in extremis & they're not gonna play that hand out?!!!  I figure they use the prison beat-down for a redemptive phase but only when they think they've wrung every possible drop out of this absolutely odious every day villain they've created!

    • Respectfully agree to disagree. We had 4 episodes with original flashbacks integrated well into contemporary scenes that were sweet, romantic, that resonated, that hit all the possible nostalgic chords & that shows me the writing team not only cares for these 2 characters but that they were really excited about writing for them. And, we also have the quote from Korte/VanEtten beginning of the year-ish that they considered Lucky & Liz a foundational couple for the canvas.  I thought Lucky's saying he didn't think he'd stay once she turned down his marriage proposal to be good character motivation. I also thought the idea of some summer travels with Aiden supports character integrity.  Going by his exit interviews, what's left is people & logistics/scheduling, etc. & there's no way a writing team can anticipate an actor taking an out in their contract ahead of time. They have to deal with it, in the moment, when it comes up & likely it's going to make a bit of a mess to whatever they have sketched out in the long story thrust.
    • I had a driver taking me to Infusion the other day & we were talking about soaps. She was out of touch but had been a CBS fan, from TPIR, all day till Oprah. Telling her about BTG. What network? CBS. When: 2pm. Is it between ATWT & GL? Oh, girl, you are so behind. So, she was appalled when I briefly brought her up to date BUT she remained interested in hearing more about BTG, so that was a plus.  Last weekend I got a haircut so it is the way I like it, short & spiky but of course it's purple. Recently, I was waiting for my ride outside the Infusion Center & a woman comes up to me, about my age, short spiky hair but all white. She raves about my purple hair & says she is a pancreatic cancer survivor & purple is that color (which I knew) and she is thinking going purple but doesn't know where to start. So I tell her about Splat, no bleach req'd, easy, etc. & she's getting excited & my driver pulled up, & stuck her head out & said, Donna? & she had purple hair, too! I felt like we were in a purple vortex. It was both lovely & surreal.
    • We saw Hope, with Bo, where she revealed John's death to him & he immediately wanted to leave for Salem & we saw the two of them talk to a doc or an admin about whether he would be allowed to be discharged yet.  Someone, maybe Will, talked to Sami on the phone and at the airport Sydney had taken a fall, sounded like she was on a moving sidewalk, and had at least 2 breaks & was scheduled for some kind of orthopedic surgery.  Since it is clear that Sweeney cannot or will not be available, again I say  it is time to recast.  Wasn't Carrie lock-step with Belle the whole time? In general I thought all of the eulogies were both good & appropriate. Yes, Paul touched me like no other. Loved Abe. I still miss previous Little Rachel but for the first time new Little Rachel also moved me. And, amazingly, I am caught up again. Whoopeee!

    • In true TV tradition Dani kept her bra on during sex. Couldn't we have been treated to Andre in his underwear , rather than trousers on already? I took Hayley's reaction as teasing. Surely she wouldn't think for a moment Bill was fooling around with Ashley? I agree that Dupree staircase looks a little basic.Wish for something grander. And in the living room there was a lamp in front of the door. Huh? Is that a closet? Would you have built in storage in a living room in a house of that size? Chelsea has millions of followers?
