Members Sylph
I'm counting on Trent Jones.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Sandra Weintraub, Eric Freiwald, Linda Schreiber and Natalie Minardi Slater all wrote for Y&R before Latham came there. So, I guess they all magically lost their ability to write for these characters once Latham came on board, right? Just because a hack leads a writing team, that doesn't mean everyone on the team is necessarily bad. HOWEVER, I don't think Maria will be keeping anyone of Latham's friend's on, why would she? She doesn't know and hasn't worked with any of them before. Also, many of Latham's writer's still have contract cycles that need to expire, why should the show fire them now and still have to pay them off? Like Latham did, Maria will probably phase Latham's writers out while adding her own in. She's worked with both Trent Jones and Jack. F. Smith previously, if she can land them back, former Y&R writers are sure to follow suit.
Members DaytimeFan
Any Pre LML writer is welcome to return as far as I'm concerned. The one writer I'm very concerned about is Scott Hamner who I haven't heard a word about. He's just as bad as LML, hopefully he's been axed. I would really prefer to keep Jack Smith away from Y&R. He nearly drove away some serious vets due to lack of storyline. He was inconsistent on who garnered focus. Jess Walton and Jeanne Cooper really suffered under him, ditto MTS and EB. If I was MAB I would shy away from hiring him. Trent Jones, Jim Houghton, Marc Hertz, Janice Ferri Esser....bring 'em on!
Members Chris B
That is different because they actually have Y&R experience so you know what they can do. The others have no daytime experience barring this hugely unsuccessful stint at Y&R. Those that do have experience is from places like Port Charles and Spyder Games which are MILES below Y&R. Like I said, some may have talent, but they need to reaudition (or properly audition for the first time) and show they understand Y&R and the characters. Members NYC123
Does anyone know when AMC's writing team be credited?
Members Sylph
Be very careful with what you wish for. Before wanting all these people back, you should have watched closely their dialogue. So in that regard, I don't want Janice back, thank you very much. I think Houghton will be back, though. Which might be a good thing.
Members juppiter
Hahaha I got to agree with Sylph. Having the Bell influence back is a good thing, but having the Bell dialogue back would be a baaaaaad thing.
Members Khan
What's more important, though: slammin' dialogue, or a writing team that actually "gets" Y&R?
Members MarkH
Is it really too much to wish for both?
Members Khan
These days? Yep, lol.

Members Sylph
Mark, were you on Usenet when Jim used to post? Did he have ego problems? This type of posts, too. No, nope would be my answer. No matter how awful GH's writing was, I was there only to watch closely how the dialogue is written by the best scriptwriting team in daytime. Administrator Toups Posted March 13, 2008 Author Administrator Share Posted March 13, 2008 So you watched a show for the dialogue instead of story? What?
Administrator Toups Posted March 13, 2008 Author Administrator Share Posted March 13, 2008 Looks like GH is the first soap to be back from strike scripts. Strike breakdowns are still airing because Guza's not in the credits yet. - Susan Wald back as Script Writer on March
Members brimike
WOW, that seems early. Only a month after the strike? Are we sure she didn't go fi-core? (Not to start rumors. Just seems really REALLY soon)
