Of course there's more than just 3 people writing for Y&R or any show. They might have been able to do it for a couple of weeks, but it's just not possible to keep it up for a long period of time.

Since DAYS is done airing WGA covered episodes now, I guess I can say a little bit more. There is one writer from Hogan's team that went Fi-Core but there's things that happened/circumstances which made me wonder if this certain writer was going to be credited or not. I was also wondering if the other two Fi-Core writers (they're not from Hogan's team) were going to be credited right away, so I guess this means they came shortly after the strike began. Once/if we see these writers' names, it will be obvious who's really writing the show (if it's not obvious already).

Tom Langan and Dena Highley?

Corday´s dream team. :D:rolleyes:

This stuff is better than the show.

I think either SOD or SOW is saying that Chris Goutman is writing ATWT right now. Not sure if it is true though.

This is merely speculation, not fact: but it's pretty widely known that Christopher Goutman is one of the more hands-on EP's when it comes to the writing of the show. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he took over the head writer duties.

And while this might not make people happy, at least ATWT will be one of the more recognizable shows during the strike episodes. Whether you like what he's done with the show or hate it, at least it'll be consistent - other soaps won't be so lucky.

I'll keep my personal opinion on this to myself. :D Just trying to be objective.

Well I think Goutman has been writing ATWT for some time now. Remember when Jean wasnt even mentioned during the director's win for best directing. Even the actors who won didnt acknowledge her.

While I see Goutman dictating the writing, I just don't see him actually doing the phsycial writing himself. Him sitting down and writing breakdowns? Can't see that happening. LOL

During the strike of 1988, the breakdown process was eliminated completely at many soaps. The person "head writing" just wrote a quick summary, and it went right to the script writer. It's difficult enough to find scabs in the first place, never mind a whole scriptwriting team AND breakdown team.

Ahh...okay. That makes sense. So I guess it's safe to assume that's how it's working at the soaps right now. No breakdowns are being written, just a summary followed by a script.

Regarding who's writing DOOL during the strike, just take a look at who didn't sign the petition that appeared in variety.

It's widely speculated that two former writers of DOOL, who hightailed it to another network for a while until they were shown the door, have returned because they were always well respected by Corday Productions. Do you really think Sony/Corday/Bell would let the sinking DOOL be written by office assistants? You'll see DOOl improve dramatically during these strike episodes with these writers in the mix (they've learned alot during their time away and DO love Salem and its inhabitants) and Sheffer on the picket lines.

I highly doubt they returned because they were "well respected by Corday Productions." LOL That wasn't the reason why they returned.

Of course not.

I didn't have any faith in them in the first place, so I surely don't have any faith in them now, especially with what happened with the firings. How am I suppose to have faith in them after that? But as a DAYS fan, I hope you are right because I do want to enjoy the show.
