No offense, Toups... I love you and all... but this is NOT a tough one to figure out AT ALL if you've been keeping up with this thread.

Mostly because I don't want to steal Toups's thunder. This is HIS territory.

I'll just say based solely on speculation that there's only one soap left that can AFFORD to get rid of seven writers. Because for the most part, writing teams on every other soap have LESS that seven writers.

I totally agree. And honestly, I could be wrong. That's just my guess. But seven is a LOT of people to cut. You're pretty much talking about the whole AMC writing team with that number.

Then again, maybe it ISN'T so obvious...

It had better be Y&R. Talk about a ridiculously bloated writing team. And one of them better be Scott Hamner, he may have said Joan Collins was a joy to work with...but that was the 80s, off with his head!

Amen Daytime Fan, he should have went with Latham. Why he hasn't been let go yet is beyond me.

Hey now, it's one a clock in the morning, I just got home from work, and I've had 3 beers, give me a break!

My initial guess was the show with eighty-four writers on staff right now.

But then I brought up AMC, and realized - Pratt MIGHT just be crazy enough to fire the whole team.

They better be Latham's cronies, I swear, if I see that Natalie is out at Y&R and the other couple of pre-Latham writers, I'm going to have to be put in a mental institution. <_<

I think even Latham understood that Natalie had to stay, she's the historian of that team right now and she's definitely Y&R's future (no matter what Sylph says).

I'm going to say GL. My worst fears have been realized, and Ellen Wheeler has decided to eliminate all her writers, save for David Kreizman; and from now on, the actors on the show will have to improvise scenes and dialogue off his thrusts.

The problem is which 7 (if it's Y&R). So although a decision in a good direction, it just won't be enough.

Expect fireworks.

Goodbye, Natalie!
