Nice that there is still a TEMPO magazine! Just wish Brooke was still around to run it....

Anyway - Kendall IS as crazy as Janet. haha - talking to her babies via picture and taking up 'creative' hobbies.

I have a feeling the show is going to be just as lame as the last few days though...hopefully I'll be wrong.

LMFAO at the scene where Jack finally leaves - and BAM the lights go out and Erica is standing in a spotlight. I thought for sure she'd bust out in song. That scene was so Broadway.

That song was on again, complete with credits! haha - I actually like it though, so I'm not complaining.

Finally Kendall shows emotion and actually CRIES about Zach being hit by a car and missing. I've been waiting for this type of emotion from Kendall. It makes me actually feel sorry for her now, which is something I've wanted to do since the beginning. I now am somewhat emotionally invested in Zach coming home to Kendall.

Having Greenlee and Zach stuck together though brings the most painfully boring scenes ever. What a dreadful couple!

Go Jack!

I am really pleased to see that he has stood up to Erica and finally told her that they are no longer in love. I mean, there is only so much the guy can take and she pretty much has pushed the limit with trying to get Greenlee committed. Now do not get me wrong...I do love Erica and all but she is out of bounds with this and should know better since she herself spent time in a mental institute. Now Jack can put some distance between her and Erica can work hard to try and make it up to him. Glad to see Jack give it to her.

Ryan Got Run Over By A Reindeer

*This is a parody of "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer"...enjoy!

Ryan got run over by a reindeer

Walking home from Annie's house Christmas Eve

You can say there's no such thing as an a$$ goblin,

But as for me and Zach, we believe.

He had been drinkin' too much Dynamite Kiddo Kool Aid,

And we begged him please do go.

But he had forgot his medication of Midol,

So he stumbled out the doggie door into the snow.

When they found him thankfully dead Christmas mornin',

At the scene of the great attack,

There was a tattoo saying "fight club" on his forehead,

And a Kick Me sign on his back.

Ryan got run over by a reindeer

Walking home from Annie's house Christmas Eve.

You can say there's no such thing as an a$$ goblin,

But as for me and Zach, we believe.

Now we're all so proud of Kendall,

She's been takin' this so well.

See him in there watchin' Pilates,

Drinkin beer and playin' cards with cousin Mel (he will soon arrive in PV *wink*).

It's definitely Christmas without Ryan.

All the family's dressed in red.

And we do not have to wonder:

Should we open up his gifts or send them back? (Send them back!)

Ryan got run over by a reindeer

Walking home from Annie's house Christmas Eve.

You can say there's no such thing as an a$$ goblin

But as for me and Zach, we believe.

Now the Dynamite Kiddo comic is on the table

And the d1ldo pie made of fig.

And a blue and silver superhero cape

That would have just matched the hair in Ryan's wig.

I've warned all my friends and neighbors.

"Better watch out for those bug eyes.

They should never give a license,

To a moron who drives a sleigh and tells many lies

Ryan got run over by a reindeer

Walking home fromAnnie's house Christmas Eve.

You can say there's no such thing as an a$$ goblin,

But as for me and Zach, we believe.

At this time, I would not wish Erica on anybody due to her scheme to get Greenlee committed. Crap like that in the real world has major consequences and, if I were Jack, I would have her a$$ prosecuted. Being that she has been in a mental institute, Erica should think twice about putting an enemy there since a mental hospital can make one worse than when they initially enter. But since Erica is above the law, nothing will come of it. Now Erica might think it is cute to get someone falsely imprisoned inside a looney bin...it is not cute. Maybe if Erica had allowed it to happen and people found out what she did, then Greenlee could sue her for false imprisonment and Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress and get a hold of Erica's money. If you ask me, it is high time for Erica to grow the hell up and stop the childish games that are not only stupid and meaningless but emotionally damaging.

I do love Erica but, like I said in my post, she was out of bounds to pull this crap.

I think Erica has done a lot of things to push Jack away. She's made it clear that she would do anything for her daughter, so if Jack does the same that shouldn't be an issue. Jack didn't actively try to hurt Kendall, that's the difference to me. Erica was about to have Greenlee committed and she hid Kendall's crimes as well. She was about to let Greenlee go to jail for what Kendall did, so I don't see how that's different from Jack not making a greater effort to prosecute Greenlee. As an officer of the court, he should have had nothing to do with her case at all. It's a conflict of interest.

At the same time Jack didn't need to be as rough with Erica as he was. He shouldn't of let her think he was coming to Thanksgiving and he didn't have to make her feel bad about trying to help him and Greenlee. Erica's intentions are what mattered in that situation. I think Jack should have just calmly told Erica it was over and the difference between them were too great, but then I guess it wouldn't be dramatic enough.

Trust me, if Greenlee was placed in a psych ward, she would have gotten hurt immensely. That is not exactly a picnic to be in there and, as I said before, Erica's actions can get her in legal trouble not only for forgery but false imprisonment.

Now I do think Greenlee should be punished for what she did to Spike but Kendall, Zach, and Erica are going about it the wrong way. I also see Greenlee as making an effort to make it up to Kendall by asking her what she can do and apologizing for her actions. Also, some people have been critical of Greenlee lately making everything about her...well isn't that how Greenlee always has been? Sometimes she does think for others, as in Spike, and asking Kendall how she can make the situation better.

I think any parent would do what Jack did and that is cover up their child's crime. Erica certainly did it when she thought Bianca killed Frankie.....plus, as Julia mentioned, he is her father and it has no bearing on her since it is a conflict of interest. There is also really no proof that Jack tried to cover up the crime

I’m in NYC, and I can’t help but wonder if NYC prosecutors, politicians, etc. ever felt the way that Laura did, back in the 80s-90s when they were trying to take down the mob.  “Oooh, don’t put John Gotti in prison. The guy who comes in after him might be worse”
    • Happy 18th Birthday, Sophia! I like that Tate gave her a birthday party. And that Marlena counseled him about whether or not he has feelings for Sophia, and his relationship with Holly. I like how messy Tate is and I hope he continues to be messy. He just needs to have more argument/fight scenes with Doug III

Days just needs to work a little bit more on establishing better chemistry between Tate and Sophia, but I still think that’s mostly due to Rachel Boyd. Sometimes, I think that Sophia might secretly be scheming, but with the way RB plays it, (if that’s what they’re going for), it doesn’t seem to be working. Tate was also really sweet and dorky during the party too The drug scenes didn’t do much for me though. I don’t mind that Kevin panicked and ran off with the drug once he heard Steve and Shawn coming, but I felt like that story was the weakest part of today. But I am interested in seeing what happens next. And I couldn’t help but laugh when I noticed that Steve and Shawn had matching jackets Btw, I see Mayor Price established a quid pro quo with Xander today lol I wouldn’t mind that being more than just a plot point. It could lead to some pretty good drama if it’s handled correctly. And it would be a lot better than Xander declaring war on Sweet Bits/Chanel and Felicity.  And Stephanie, finally having her mother to confide in about her life, her relationship with Alex, etc. has been one of the best things about the Paula/Jeanne episodes. The book thing still seems very Ron-like though, mostly because it’s so centered around Alex, sort of like how GH used to make storylines about Liz all about Finn or Franco Hopefully, Stephanie talks to Kayla about the book. I’d like to hear more of her perspective on it. I also like that Kayla and Marlena were there for each other as well. These are such better ways to use all three of them. And, we got an update about John One other thing I’ve noticed about the Paula/Jeanne episodes (except for the ones that are worked on by Jamey) is that they’re longer than Ron episodes. Episodes usually clock in at around 40-41 minutes now, as opposed to 35-37, or as short as 31.
    • Also Victor being the obstacle for Kyle/Claire feels forced. If anything it should be Diane. Diane has a history of having issues with the Newmans, doesn’t she? Jack could be the one trying to reel her in while she’s meddling in Kyle and Claire’s relationship. They’re making the characters of Diane, Victoria, Nick, Sharon be way too complacent when they could have a stronger role in the younger characters like Mariah/Tessa, Kyle/Claire etc
    • A year later we had these ratings for the week of May 11-17 1987. This was probably the last time the CBS soaps (at least til Dallas’ finale) ranked this high. Dynasty had already ended its season.  CBS reran the Dallas Early Years movie on Saturday night against Golden Girls’ season finale, which was the failed Empty Nest back door pilot.  Interestingly a repeat Family Ties was #1 this week. The week before the season finale of Family Ties beat out Cosby as well, but it was Cheers that beat them both out with Diane’s exit.

    • Hello to everybody!

I'm writing a series of essays about the first time of a LGBT character in US soaps. I already have datas about Sharon Duvall in DAYS (1977) as first Bisex, Lynn Carson in AMC (1983) as first Lesbian, Hank Elliott on ATWT (1989) as first Gay (someone have or can find the episode in which Paul Ryan finds out about Hank and does not take it very well? I have seen Hank's coming out to Iva and when Hank gets a bullet to save Paul's life from the latter evil father and when he gets tested for HIV after finding out Charlie's diagnosis, but Soap Opera Digest recaps are too much concises...) and Billy Douglas on OLTL (1992) as first LGBT teen in both daytime and primetime TV (I have seen all the episodes on You Tube. BTW, what a great storyline, why it was ignored by the Emmys? Andrew Carpenter and Billy's father players are both really great in their roles! Oh, well, if OLTL was not nominated for Best Drama in 1994 with Marty's gang rape story which won four major awards and was spectacular, no surprise at all - sadly) and I have read something about Azure in The City (1996) as first Trans, but I'd like to see the episode where Bernado finds out and Azure confirms what is said in that newspaper to have something to quote. I like quoting, it gives the essays more depth. I already read the biweekly recaps from Soap Opera Digest on Tumblr and single episodes recaps on IMDB, but I'd like to have more to write about. And something more about critics and public opinions - I only knows that the storyline was rapidly axed because of bad writing and bad performance by Carlotta Chung, but I have nothing to quote.   PS Thank you @JAS0N47 for your incredible and rich site (and work on it). In particular for the Nielsen ratings on weekly basis lists since 1974 and for everything about Sharon Duval - specially for the script of the confession episode dated 23 May 1977! I'm not a DAYS viewers (I'm Italian, I live in Italy and on You Tube there is almost nothing if not short videos), but I've seen some clips of Marlena's first possession (Deidre Hall is terrific in it! Storyline is garbage, but it has its chilling moments and it is funny - I laugh everytime I remember Kristen say to Marlena "according to the book of demonology"! Was she an espert of demons or what!? ) and read on Soap Opera Central daily recaps about infamous Melaswen (brainwashed Marlena has a particular sense of humor - killing ex alcoholic Maggie with a bottle of wine and Alice with her donuts...), so I know something about the soap. Little, but better than nothing.

    • I'm curious the motivation for keeping Bela on beyond the circus story arc.  Did he play a character like his character on EON, or was he more of a good guy? I know he ended up with Sunny at the end of the series, but I always thought that Sunny/Hogan could have been revived once the lack of chemistry between him and the NuLiza became apparent.   Actually... the NuLiza (Louan Gideon) reminded me more of Sunny than she did Liza as played by Sherry... and she just threw off the whole vibe of the show. I see Estelle has just arrived in the late October 1985 episodes, which only means that Wendy and Stephanie are soon on their way out.   It also appears that the Sarah/Quinn/Wendy triangle was set up by Mayer.. and it looks as though Tomlin is going to deactivate it by the introduction of Colleen Dion's character.   I don't understand why no one on the show thought to look at Quinn and realize that he was the problem and write him out.

    • I kind of assume they're toning down Rachel's bad seed tendencies a bit to make it less obvious if they're going for her as the shooter. At least that's what I hope they're doing - I've really enjoyed Rachel being a bratty evil DiMera princess and Marlena finally getting a grandchild she deserves.
