He was good, Julia. I liked him too, and GL needs a real villan; Alan Spaulding isn't it. Although EW/DK are trying to re-make the entire Spaulding clan into a bunch of rich criminals with no conscience.

The only thing I didn't get with Edmund/Cassie is how Cassie could "love" Edmund after what he was doing to get to the throne. Wasn't she hip to his evil ways before she fell for him? I was only watching on and off at that time, so please fill me in.

Yesterday's show was mostly OK. I liked seeing Alex and Olivia(!). I love CC; she just lights up the screen IMO. But I could do without all the "Philip-dangling" TPTB like to do. They seem to roll out Philip's effigy once every 4-6 months or so in reel in long-time viewers. It would be great if he actually came back though!

But what was with people being allowed to walk through the church rubble? Natalia, Gus and Alex all were able to get in the building....

Yeah Cassie and Edmund did fall in love, but regarding that you must throw logic out the window because the TPTB at the time were not that much different from the ones we have now. They didn't know how to write for much of the characters at that time. The writers before them seemed to hint at a potential Alex/Edmund pairing, but nothing came of it.

^ ^ ^ I KNOW!! Why does EW/DK do these things off-screen?!? That's one thing that really pisses me off. I love Maeve K/Vanessa and would love to see her on more often (I guess we can thank Paul Rauch for that). And an IMPORTANT PART of this story is Vanessa and Matt's (obvious) reconciliation.

Why would this not be shown to the viewers? What prompted Vanessa to take him back? The scenes of them breaking up were very good. And since then, on top of stealing from Maureen's fund, he's slept with her daughter. And then we saw an episode last week wherein Vanessa contemplated getting back together with Matt. Now POOF! All is forgiven? I don't get it.

I'm really enjoying individual actor's performances day-to-day (like GT/Dinah, MJ/Alex, MB/Marina and KZ/Reva), although the stories are poorly written and fragmented.

I think after Alan and Natalia kissed at the fundraiser, his panties are in a bunch for her. But you're absolutely correct, JS. The explanation for his sudden need to do this, after pushing them together to get Harley out of the picture, has never been explained.

DK can not seem to write a well-rounded story. His characters are mostly one-dimensional (the only one I can recall being fleshed-out was Jon). I thought that Donna Swajeski was supposed to be a good writer, from what I have heard of her work on AW, but I see no evidence of that on this show.

And I think Wednesday's ITL will (AGAIN) focus on "The Perfect Couple". Ugh.

    • I don't mind her in the role. At all.
    • Love this from the AP article on BTG: For years, Veronica Redd played Mamie Johnson — Drucilla’s aunt — on “The Young and the Restless.” When she tuned into the premiere of “Beyond the Gates,” what she saw got her attention, but what she heard blew her away. “I was not prepared,” laughs Redd. It begins with a women driving a Mercedes-Benz through the gates of an exclusive country club. The Emotions’ “Best of My Love” is playing — something that told Redd the production value was top notch. Daytime isn’t usually Redd’s favorite genre even though she acknowledges “it’s paid the bills for many decades.” “Beyond the Gates,” though, has earned a spot in Redd’s TV time. “They got me hooked,” she says. -
    • It's a shame because I like the actress, but she was miscast. I'd say they should pull a DAYS and put her in another role.
    • Theoretically, I would agree, but it seems like Paul Avila Mayer and Stephanie Braxton did such a number on Hogan, Sunny and Liza that reuniting Hogan and Sunny would've been a toxic situation.
    • She painfully sticks out, it’s awful. I can’t believe the producers don’t see this.
    • Deidre Hall did really well in that last scene hearing about them closing in on John. John's funeral is going to be tough to watch.
    • And this is why I use a different video hosting site. It's interesting to me that on IG Sony only hits current not vintage. Also there's no penalty as long as you delete.
    • Are we sure we're not going to go down a Natalia Grace storyline here?

    • Probably. Stephanie is still so underdeveloped as a character to me.  She jumps from romance to romance and I feel like she takes on the persona and interests of the man she is with at the moment.  I don't really know her interests or personality.  And Stephanie certainly gets enough airtime to explore more than sex with Alex. I know she was interacting with Kayla today, but a lot of the dialogue was "Alex asked", "Alex thinks..", "Alex is now free so I have to go" lol.  What do you think about anything, Stephanie?
    • May 2025:   New Pope, Leo XIV is chosen in Rome, while the Italian Open tennis tournament is happening in Rome. The headline is "Sinner meets the Pope"  or  "Pope meets Sinner". LOL, this is tennis player Jannik Sinner. He met with Pope Leo and gave him a tennis racket. Leo plays tennis himself and is a tennis fan. (He is also a Chicago Cubs baseball fan).    https://apnews.com/article/pope-leo-jannik-sinner-tennis-italian-open-9305b5f2957ac15c7a405f836371ec1e The top-ranked tennis player visited the new pope on Wednesday, gave him a tennis racket and offered to play, during an off day for Sinner at the Italian Open. Leo, the first American pope, is an avid tennis player and fan and had said earlier this week that he would be up for a charity match when it was suggested by a journalist. But at the time, Leo joked “we can’t invite Sinner,” an apparent reference to the English meaning of Sinner’s last name. By Wednesday, all seemed forgotten. “It’s an honor,” Sinner said in Italian as he and his parents arrived in a reception room of the Vatican’s auditorium. Holding one of his rackets and giving Leo another and a ball, the three-time Grand Slam champion suggested a quick volley. But the pope looked around at the antiques and said, “Better not.” Leo, a 69-year-old from Chicago, then appeared to joke about his white cassock and its appropriateness for Wimbledon, perhaps a reference to the All England Club’s all-white clothing rule.
