Members Y&RWorldTurner
I guess Ry-Ry has to ask Tom on Monday if he and the rest of the DAYS writing team have been rehired.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
She's a soap writer who primarily worked on GL from like 1989 to 2005 or so. I believe she's last worked for ATWT, but didn't last long there and hasn't written for anything since.
Members DaytimeFan
If this news is true....oh God the LML stuff is going to give me a coronary. Good news for AMC though since B&E will be out.
Administrator Toups Posted February 10, 2008 Administrator Share Posted February 10, 2008 Melissa's part of the negotiating committee. She last wrote for ATWT in 2006. That part about DAYS writers coming back is interesting. We'll see what happens.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
With LML, since it was rumored she was going to be fired pre-strike, she could still be fired. They just have to replace her with another writer who was on strike as well. Somehow, I can't see Sony wanting to keep all 18 of Latham's friends, that's way too big a writing team and must cost tons of money....
Members Ponz
This makes no sense. If a show invokes force majeure, it automatically follows that the striking writier is replaced by a scab/fi-core member. If they had to replace one striking writer with another, the clause would be meaningless.
Members Ryan
I can't. I won't be allowed to ask any questions pertaining to the strike. And I'm ok with that
Members DaytimeFan
Could Natalie Minardi Slater be the future of Y&R. She's the last one of the original team (aside from Saundra Weintraub and Eric Freiwald who both definitely not HW material) to still be at the show. Oh I just want LML gone! Members Ryan
For the interim maybe....but maybe they have to choose a replacement that was striking as well. And plus, who says DAYS invoked force majuere anyway. Corday just could have chosen to fire them.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Look how many FORMER Y&R writers went on stike and weren't writing for any other show yet. Trent Jones (who has co-HW experience on Y&R) and James Houghton come to mind, as well as Jackass, I mean Jack F Smith.
Members Roman
My guess? The cast and crew put voodoo on the lot, making sure that if she steps back on it, she'll melt.

Administrator Toups Posted February 10, 2008 Administrator Share Posted February 10, 2008 Who said it was force majeure? There's a still lot of information that hasn't been leaked out yet.......nobody knows for sure what's going to happen.

Members Y&RWorldTurner
Unless Hogan and team were fired directly before the strike, wouldn't it be illegal for Corday to fire the writing team during the strike, without invoking the force majeure clause? He'd be risking too much legal action there. Then again, Corday does like wasting money as if it were water...
