WTF is Melissa Salmons ANYWAY?

She's a soap writer who primarily worked on GL from like 1989 to 2005 or so. I believe she's last worked for ATWT, but didn't last long there and hasn't written for anything since.

I have to add, how in the hell would Melissa Salmons know if the DAYS writers were getting their jobs back when no new deal had been voted on by the WGA yet? Surely, they can't be rehired if no new deal was voted on yet. Also, when's the last she ever wrote for anything?

Melissa's part of the negotiating committee. She last wrote for ATWT in 2006.

That part about DAYS writers coming back is interesting. We'll see what happens.

With LML, since it was rumored she was going to be fired pre-strike, she could still be fired. They just have to replace her with another writer who was on strike as well.

This makes no sense. If a show invokes force majeure, it automatically follows that the striking writier is replaced by a scab/fi-core member. If they had to replace one striking writer with another, the clause would be meaningless.

For the interim maybe....but maybe they have to choose a replacement that was striking as well. And plus, who says DAYS invoked force majuere anyway. Corday just could have chosen to fire them.

Who said it was force majeure? There's a still lot of information that hasn't been leaked out yet.......nobody knows for sure what's going to happen.

Unless Hogan and team were fired directly before the strike, wouldn't it be illegal for Corday to fire the writing team during the strike, without invoking the force majeure clause? He'd be risking too much legal action there. Then again, Corday does like wasting money as if it were water...
