Let me try this again...LOL

The highlight of the show was Jackass and Carly. Great script by Richard Culltion. Jack on purpose invited Carly to the party knowing full well that she would act that way. He wanted the attention and he got it. Now he had the excuse to trash her and yet love her afar as he ripped into her. Jack and Noah are both wasting their time fighting their feeling for the ones they truly love. Speaking of Noah and Luke ...I wish we would have seen more of them today. Holden's and Luke's talk was nice too. Holden/Lily/Dusty was good as well. I am not thrilled about the hooker angle but I like that they are using history in Lily/Holden/Dusty. A good show overall. But I wanted more Nuke.

Jack, as usual, fails to accept the role he plays in Carly's meltdowns. He DIDN'T want to invite her, that was Katie's doing. But if he didn't know what was coming, then he's a damn fool. Carly's heart has been out on her sleeve for the last two months, and he KNOWS she fights to the bloody end when she wants something. Inviting her to the engagement party, and forcing her to listen to a bunch of platitudes about Katie's perfection? GMAB...Carly wasn't the only one "trashing" the Carjack memory box.

The interesting thing is Jack admitted he "was so close to being fooled by you". WELL, Jackie-boy, that's a fine thing to say the night of your engagement party to another woman, ain't it? The difference between being "fooled" and being "convinced" is the intent of the other person, and we know Carly's sincere about her love for Jack. It's no friggin' wonder Carly's chasing him, with the mixed signals he's been throwing. He just PROVED Carly's been right the entire time---his feelings are at best "confused" and he went ahead and pushed up the wedding date. He shouldn't be marrying anyone under those terms.

The sad thing was---Brad made the most sense today. I nearly FLOVED him when he told Carly she was classier than how she'd been acting.

Katie? I don't feel sorry for her. She walked into this delusion with her eyes wide open. She keeps testing Jack, and he keeps failing, and still she ignores it. She deserves what she gets. And I still don't get the Snyder children gathering at her feet to listen to her inane chatter. When Sage asked if she and Carly were "friends" again, I could have died. That bitch has NEVER been Carly's friend.

    • That's how I feel. Beats could have been played for the past couple months wherein Dante and Gio interacted and had a difference of opinion -- or something. I don't know. I do know that this crushing rant that blames everything on Gio is absurd. -- Reading over all the comments here about characters and couples, it's kind of amazing that we have any show left considering the number of times actors and writers and execs were given influence to make major character and story decisions. Too many cooks in the kitchen.
    • Lol. But Jeffrey was weak to mama. Leslie can go dead because anger is a great motivator via Martin defending HIS mama and just not taking ish altogether. This ain't how it should be. They need not run the show like this. It's too noticeable.
    • Oh, I see! You posted this on the general retro soap thread because of the voiceover.
    • Yeah, I agree. It's part of the reason I have shade picked on Martin's Secret being so on the backburner that it was about to fall off of it. With Dani/Bill/Hayley being the main tale to start us off and backburned and the SilkPress storyline being well paced, but not set to explode until May, Martin's Secret was the other main storyline that could have been developed. And after giving it a nice slow burn to start off, the story upped and vanished in Month 2. That left the show having to rely on mostly B/C stories to stay afloat to various degrees of success.
    • I loved those scenes, lol. I thought I was watching a stage play. But I do hear what you're saying.
    • Jason47's episode summaries clarify everything. https://daytimeroyaltyonline.com/days-daily-summaries-1990-1999-t14806-s150.html The construction company is "AJ Construction" (AJ = Adrienne+Justin).   Jencon Oil was building an oil refinery at the construction site.  This was adjacent to the park. Kirk Geiger played the character Chad Webster. The character Chad was an actor in the movie being made.   The child friend with Shawn-Douglas is his cousin Andrew Donovan. A few episodes prior, Andrew and Shawn-Douglas were at the park playing hide-and-seek. They wandered off where they shouldn't have gone, by slipping through the gate onto the construction site.  Shawn-D fell into the hole at the oil refinery. There were several episodes of trying to rescue Shawn-D.  Finally Carly rescued Shawn-D, but he was discovered to be deaf.  Andrew felt bad, but Bo and Shane both understood that it was an accident.  Carly later taught Shawn-D sign language. Shawn-D was played by Scott Groff. Andrew was played by Bradley Michael Pierce. pics here: https://web.archive.org/web/20070404163013/http://www.childrenofsalem.com/days/kids/shawnandrew/shawnandrew.html Larger context here: https://web.archive.org/web/20080614054207/http://www.bethsdayspage.com/days/riverfrontraider.htmlhttps://web.archive.org/web/20080614054207/http://www.bethsdayspage.com/days/riverfrontraider.html
