Magnus Norman is dumping Stan. Someone mentioned the irony of Magnus giving up this job to spend more time with family while a few years ago, Stan effectively chose to devote more time to tennis, effectively estranging himself from his wife and baby daughter, which looked a lot like choosing tennis over his family.

Wow, I am surprised by the news but good for Magnus. Magnus is a very good guy. I have chatted with him before on media outlet and he comes off like a great human being.

And yes the irony Stan.....LOLOL

I remember when Novak was projected to fall as low as #17 in the world. Now the only player left that can surpass him is Del Po. If Del Po does surpass him.... Novak will end at #11. But considering how little he played that is pretty good. He had so many points that losing so many didn't hurt him as much. Now if you look at Murray and Kei...both took a big tumble down the rankings. Milos too has taken a big drop.

Good for Juan.

WTF happened with Grigor today though?  I didn't see the match but I read that he was up 5-2 and had MP vs. Isner but went on to lose the match.

Apparently Sloane hasn't won a match since the U.S. Open.  I guess she can't tear herself away from Jozy Altidore long enough to string some points together--he must be hittin' it from all angles!

One more win and Juan Martin will make it to the ending championship unless Robert Bautista Agut makes the finals then RBA makes it in. If they both lose next round then Busta is in on the final spot available.

) Anyways... I did really feel disgusted by Eurovision this year and I doubt I'll watch this horrific musical torture in the future. My ears and my psyche will not survive.
    • Regarding the mobster storyline: The scripts, the cardroom set, and the writing for Joey -- are all terrible. They seem to be writing a realistic depiction of compulsive gambling as an addiction, showing that it pops into his head all the time -- it has become hardwired into his brain.  The APA (American Psychological Association) describes compulsive gambling as having a similar effect on the physical brain as drug and alcohol addiction. https://www.apa.org/monitor/2023/07/how-gambling-affects-the-brain I think Jason Graham (Doug) is doing an adequate job playing Doug as a compulsive gambler, with the thoughts/urges coming into his head all the time, and being unable to stop. However, the cardroom set is awful and the mobster storyline is a bad cliché, so it's all so uninteresting to watch. I think Mr. Graham is doing the best he can with the crap they gave him to work with. If anyone reading or watching has a gambling issue, check out Gamblers Anonymous.  They have many types of meetings -- in-person, online, video, audio, etc.  They also have resources for friends/family of compulsive gamblers.
    • Today was painful (especially for Philip).  I still feel for Xander. He was clear he was happy sharing and working with Philip. It's just one more betrayal from someone he loved. Going back to last year when he found out about Victor and Fiona, then Alex and Philip. He forgave and tried. Then Philip went behind his back again. He's been walking on the edge for weeks. This is a man who was abused, neglected and has never had any therapy for his horrific past. He has zero coping skills because he's never learned them. I hate this but I refuse to hate Xander
