Members ChitHappens
Queen better get #23 and then we want Court's wig! Happy for Vee but she can remain "the other Williams sister" for the time being. We are going for history here! Nadal better come thru! A Williams final AND possible Rafa/Fed final won't come around again, especially in the same Slam. Besides, I have no desire to waste Fed's 18th on Dimitrov. This needs to be epic!
Members Soapsuds
I'm actually for Venus but it won't happen. She won't be able to play her game against her sister. And I so want Dimitrov to win it all. I am not a Nadal fan. If Nadal does win tonight....Roger won't beat him in the finals. Roger has had an easy draw minus Stan....I have a feeling we will get a Nadal vs Fed final with Rafa winning...pfft.

Administrator Toups Posted January 27, 2017 Author Administrator Share Posted January 27, 2017 What is this, the late 2000's? lol I never thought I'd see these matchups in a grand slam final again. Too bad I won't be able to watch it. I especially want to watch the Federer/Nadal final.

Members SnCCorinthos4ever
Who would have thought that it would have been thw William sisters in the Women's final and Federer v Nadal in the men's at the start of the tournament.
Members ChitHappens
Queen Serena! GOAT! 23!!!!! Michael Jordan had those gym shoes designed for her. Awesome!
Members DramatistDreamer
Congratulations to Serena on winning that milestone major title! Hopefully this gets people off her back about it but I suspect not because already people are pestering about 24. As I said before, it never ends for some people. Gonna be honest and say that I wish Serena had achieved this last year at Angie's expense but I'm so proud of being able to watch what she's achieved over decades and I'm so proud of Venus, 36, battling Sjogren's since '06, has managed to achieve in her own right. I really want her to get something special this year, like another Wimbledon. They've kept each other in the game as they've both stated and tennis is all the better for it!
Members Soapsuds
Venus should have won. She never plays well against her sister. I knew the finals was going to stink and it did. Please no more Williams vs Williams final. Thank gawd the men's double wasn't won by the rich Bryan Bryan brothers.....Glad Henry Kontinen and Peers won! I am sure Rafa will win tonight...ugh.....he already beat a younger version of Federer in the semis......there are reports already that Fed has an injury.
Members ChitHappens
I don't think Vee played poorly at all. She had some great shots and her angles were on point. Serena played the bigger points better is all. Overall, the match was a bit underwhelming buy I'm pleased. The WS absolute best match was the 2008 USO Quarters. That was magical and can never be replicated. The WS are still box office! As for Fedal, I got Fed in 5.

Administrator Toups Posted January 29, 2017 Author Administrator Share Posted January 29, 2017 Congrats Federer! I wish I could've seen the match. Can't believe he won a grand slam st his age. Tennis is in trouble because there's no superstars coming up.
