Hmmm really impressed with NewGreenlee today. I actually felt sorry for her when erica was being mean to her. Though I would have loved it if Greenlee had reminded Erica about the time she "forced herself" on baby Maddie/Sonya when she was being snide with her.

While I like Greenlee, I have to admit that Erica did have a point about trying to 'force' herself into a relationship with Spike...I can see right now that Greenlee is setting herself up for a major hurting.

She was cute holding the baby; and I even thought it was nice to see her soften for a change, rather than retort to her constant snarky comments at everyone.

The Ava/Lily scenes were good...Loved when Lily walked up to Ava and touched her....

I hope that hair is temporary on Ava...that nearly made me choke on my soda when I saw that.

I loved Erica yesterday. It was great how she compared Krystal to Adam since they had both kept a child from its mother. Of course, it was hypocritical of her, but that's Erica.

As much as I hate the Lily/Jonathan/Ava storyline, I couldn't help but feel sorry for Ava in her scenes with Lily. Leven Ramblin should use this episode as her Emmy reel. She was truly amazing, imo.

I don't find it hypocritical of Erica. She stole Maddie, at the 11th hour admitted guilt (without the "But I did it out of love and for all the right reasons!" shit the Carey Girls keep muttering), went to prison - not because she had to - but because she chose to face the consequences of her actions (which I think was Erica's second to last mature action. Last one being six months later helping Bianca with her anorexia) -- AND NEVER KEPT A BABY AWAY FROM ITS PARENTS AGAIN!

I'm not the biggest Erica fan, but when it comes to Erica, KWAK and Adam (who I adore), Erica's the only one who has shown she's at least learned from her past mistake. Adam didn't "pay" for kidnapping Jenny, and KWAK just made the exact same stupid ass decision all over again she did with Babe, Miranda and Little A.

So Erica keeping Maddie for 5 months is keeping her at the 11th hour?:blink::unsure: How about the fact that she kidnapped Maria at gunpoint and threatened to kill her and her unborn child? What about all of Erica's muttering about making Maria pay for taking Dimitri away from her? What about the entire fabrication of "Sonya" and the fordging of adoption papers and fake documentation of her travel plans to Russia? What about her practically forcing Jack and Esther not to say anything about Sonya/Maddie?

Erica is the biggest hypocrite Pine Valley has ever seen. She has done it all and therefore has no right to have the high horse when talking to anyone. Sure she deserves her anger. However she needs to cram the self righteous tirades away and put them in a safe place as they could very easily be thrown back at her. Each barb and spiteful word she throws around could easily be deflected right on to her.

I'll give Erica credit for chosing to go to jail but no more then that. But even then she only chose to go because Jack made it clear that if she weaseled out of her consequences she would lose him forever.

Okay, but what part of SHE ADMITTED GUILT AND WENT TO PRISON AND DIDN'T MAKE THE EXACT SAME MISTAKE AGAIN aren't you getting?

Oh, yeah. You cut that part out.

Like I said, I am in no way this huge Erica fan. She's in suspended animation. She's stuck in the summer between her 20th and 21st birthday. Not exactly a girl, but not exactly a woman.

But she went to prison and has not done the same crap since. Erica has every right to talk because she HAS done it all. She HAS been there. Except for cheating, I have yet to see Erica do the exact same things that has landed her in hot water, over and over again, and then play victim when it bites her on the ass.

Your precious Babe (who looks like a Japanimation figure in your avatar -- at least she's not trashy like before) and Krystal continue to make horrible decisions that have lasting effects/consequences and then, somehow, play victim.

I got that part. Which I why I stated I gave her credit to going to jail for her crime. But saying she just hapazardly happened to kidnap Maddie at the 11th hour isn't accurate. The problem with Erica and her self righteous tirades is that she is no better then the person she is lecturing. She is just as bad and perhaps even worse then those she despises and each time she gets on her high horse she winds up making an even bigger ass of her self then she was before because she did the same damn thing and she has done worse.

Japanimation  I'm not changing it this time. no matter what you say or how you tease me ;)

FYI: The avatar is the episode where Zach and her talked on the balcony of the Slaters new home. During December 2006 her and Zach talked after Zach helped her from almost falling over the terrece. Babe gave Zach hope that buying the house for Kendell and him would be a good thing and that he could make better memories then the ones he had of his mother and father.

Yes but there's the difference. Babe/Krystal/Greenlee/Annie/ect, isn't lecturing the entire town.

But it's Erica's town -- ever since she was a fifteen (HA!) year old school girl.

But, however, I haven't seen the episode, and most likely never will. You can tell how disenchanted I am with the writing right now, because there was a time when I'd be kicking myself over missing an episode -- not so much, anymore.

I've been over there and the comments over there aren't much better. They just use the excuse that Erica was a more established character. However they never come up with any thing to defend Erica's actions of kidnapping Maddie and taking her away from Maria. Why? Because there is no good reason to keep a child from his or her parent. That goes for all characters. Erica included.

    • Sharina?  @alwaysAMC I am glad you've kept writing about the Brent story all the way through. I think that Beaty may have had to briefly leave again, rather than scenes being aired out of sequence, but I'm not sure.  You are right that the reveals of Brent's various reasons for being what he was bog down the end of the story a bit, although based on what is to come in 1996 I still kind of wish Beaty had stayed another year.  I'd forgotten J and Michelle were tied to the end of the story. This J is generally just gross. I don't really remember much of anyone caring about Nadine dying outside of her family. The worst part was Frank just giving a rose and saying it was from Harley, which made me very mad at the time. I am not sure if Beth Ehlers was asked to return and declined. Luckily this is addressed when she does return.   I felt like it was one of those stories that was done via mandate - trying to keep the ratings gains they had, via more location shoots, more adventures, more secrets, etc. Tony, Annabelle and Jim were thrown in as they were meant to be important to the show at the time.
    • April 28: Leslie tells Eva "I know all about the Articulettes. Honey, please. I lost my virginity with Anita playing in the background, baby." Who knows what she meant by that.  I had assumed that it meant that the music was playing on a device in the background, and not live, but who knows. Leslie has spun so many tales.
    • I enjoyed Sally's story from her engagement to Peter all the way through to right before Majorca, so I would have a hard time giving that up for the sake of trying to make Amanda and Sam theoretically better. I thought the escalation of Sally's troubles from Donna's interference, secret love child, engagement to David for the wrong reasons, falling for Catlin, jilting David, trying to take Kevin from David leading to David's murder and Catlin's absolutely stupid confession to take the blame for her, and then Catlin's trial and aftermath all kept the story moving in directions you wouldn't necessarily expect but all made sense.  Full disclosure: I don't really care for location shoots on soaps where most of the time outdoor scenes are clearly in studio. It feels weird to see the cast in natural light under real trees and sometimes the destination doesn't make any sense. And although obviously it was good to get a resolution to the murder mystery and get Catlin off death row (probably too harsh a sentence for the crime), the motive and the criminal were not very satisfying. Even though she had started dating Peter, Emily Benson still had minor character written all over her. But also the transition into a lower key daily life, the introduction of Brittany and the recasting of Sally were all less effective. Catlin was limited to occasional private detection work and being protective of Brittany, but he didn't have much else to do once Blaine and Larry had left. (He should at least have been dealing with raising Kevin but Kevin and Liz had also been written out. He could have interacted with Donna more over Brittany but his fling with Donna was mostly ignored once Sally was gone.)
    • This. I'm also reminded of something from the old Cinema de Merde website, something I've tried to carry with me. "(paraphrased) We will not let our dislike for a movie impede our efforts to engage with it."
    • I just edited a DAYS episode 8-27-90 with Eve, Nick, Julie, John, Izzy, Victor, Bo, Carly, some young guy named Chad, Johnny Corelli, business men/thugs from a movie that is going to be made & from a construction company, little kid friend of ShawnD's, ShawnD although he is at the bottom of a long narrow hole & is either asleep or unconscious. Full closing credits with voiceover: Next on Another World: Vicky, posing as Marley, will she be able to fool Jamie? Then, on Santa Barbara something about Mack & Gretchen, whoever they are.
    • It's a sweet scene. I'm requesting Love of Life, please.
    • Paul, as for me, in general I am VERY interested in reading these. So, from my POV, you could post one every week & I would be all smiles. As for what shows I would be interested in: everything but Valiant Lady, Portia/Life, 5 Daughters, Another Life, that's it.
    • I have read numerous places on line that Leslie/Dana may somehow be connected to one of Anita's old band mates that she obviously has issues with.  They were both from Chicago and Leslie/Dana stated she gave birth to Eva there.  If this is true it could add another dimension to this storyline.
    • Not only that, but Tony, Annabelle, and Jim had zero skin in this game. The Fishing Trip story had a huge impact on the Reardons and Annabelle because it was about THEIR relatives and how what happened to them shaped their own lives. People directly and indirectly affected by this--i.e. Alan, Amanda, Philip, and even Lujack--weren't involved in this at all, either because they were off the canvas or involved in other stuff. I mostly admire Long's talent for using the past to enhance her stories in the present, but this one was a huge turkey. We saw Brandon old and decrepit dying on screen. Even if we were able to suspend disbelief, why wouldn't he have wanted revenge on Lucille, who tried to kill him? If he wanted to go live with his Barbados squeeze, who would have cared about that by then? In the end, it had little to no impact on the larger story because they were too chicken to bring in that branch of the Spauldings into the main story (until later).  Just a really bad storyline that mainly existed to stretch out the GL stints of the actors who played Tony, Annabelle, and Jim.
    • Agree to disagree as to Lois's return. Moving from the specific to the general, IMO, successful: Tracy, Lois, Lulu so far & Lucas so far. Questionable: Lucky. But I do not believe that having a romantic partner at all times is the be all & end all of things.  Reminder about how we got from there to here with Rena: Everything was a part of the great unknown, whether they'd like her or vice versa, so they by intent signed a 30 episode deal. Before they even got to the end of those 30 episodes they knew they really liked each other a lot & so they with mutual satisfaction (we think) agreed upon a handshake open-ended deal, which as far as anyone knows is how it still stands. What is good about that? Neither side has YET wanted it to end. What's bad about that? Maybe it is a little weird.  Now, it seems to me that Lois is not going to have time for anything or anyone at all EXCEPT the fallout over the GIO reveal for the upcoming future days & weeks & I do think she is going to take the brunt of a LOT of people's anger. In a way that has begun this week with Tracy being SO UGLY to her.  About Jason & romance. They're not writing any. If I understand what he's said from that podcast they never had any intention with either Anna or Sasha. Also, if they had wanted to write either of those, he would've been against it, although he realizes it's not up to him. (Finola has expressed same at fan events, etc.) (Others who have similarly stated their "preferences": Sonny does not want to be with Carly. Carly does not want to be with Sonny. So, these preferences Jason, Anna, Sonny, Carly, they all work out & none of them is having the show want those pairings either, so, again, works out.  About these writers & romantic couples, they spent a year blowing up every couple that existed. Now a few months has gone by & they have YET to create even one new couple. The only thing that has come close is Lucky & Liz.
