22. Backburnering the popular character of Luke for 12 months

23 The fact that half the show takes place at Emma's kitchen, and that Lily and Holden's house is missing

24. The fact that the most popular couple on the show Henry and Vienna are never on

25. The fact that she makes me not want to watch my once favorite show

26. Giving the same characters the only storylines in the show....Katie and Gwen.

27. Ignorning the viewers complaints and not taking their ideas into consideration.

28. The decimation of the Ryan/Munson clan. I realize Hal was obviously a sad necessity due to tragic RL circumstances but the deaths of Jennifer Munson and Jennifer Stewart Ryan within months of each other was NOT necessary. You know, maybe I should say that's more short term thinking than long term thinking, b/c I think both characters had more story to tell, as well as their family interactions adding to the canvas, moreso than the short term plot devices that we got.

37. Botching up Damien's return.

38. Bringing Aaron back for a horrible story.

39. Wasting the talented Jesse Soffer for over two years by having Will go from a complex, Stenbeckian type character to become Gwen's shadow

40. Making Katie even more annoying than she already was just before Hogan left.

    • Does anyone know what happened to her post-RH? She seemed to evaporate after she left the show. Which is why I can believe she said negative things about the show--maybe it got her labeled as "difificult?" I thought she was a very good actress. I liked her performance as Siobhan. She had really good chemistry with Michael Levin. IMO, they were a bit gutless not to go for a Jack/Siobhan romance after Mary was killed off.
    • You might be going crazy and overthinking, because that's not how it goes.  Right now, it's the Hamiltons versus the Richardsons in the openings, with Alex Alegria/Buglioli/Ben Gavin with the Richardsons (Opening B), while Jen Jacob is with the Hamiltons (Opening A). Opening A: Brandon Claybon Timon Kyle Durrett Marquita Goings Jibre Hordges Jen Jacob Mike Manning RhonniRose Mantilla Arielle Prepetit Opening B: Alex Alegria Lauren Buglioli Sean Freeman Ben Gavin Trisha Mann-Grant Ambyr Michelle Colby Muhammad Keith D. Robinson By your reasoning, the opening should be (and would make zero sense): Opening A: Alex Alegria Lauren Buglioli Brandon Claybon Timon Kyle Durrett Sean Freeman Ben Gavin Marquita Goings Jibre Hordges Opening B: Jen Jacob Trisha Mann-Grant Mike Manning RhonniRose Mantilla Ambry Michelle Colby Muhammad Keith D. Robinson Arielle Prepetit
    • Oh yes, I still remember that. But I'm much kinder to David Henesy than you are overall.
    • I just finished the Locher Room Texas reunion.  I really enjoyed it.  I love that the actors have such fond memories of the time they spent working on Texas and with each other.  It is really special and unique.  Kin was being Kin.  He was moving the camera around or he was constantly moving, at one point he is completely in the dark, then you can't hear him.  lol.  He is like a hyper child.   And as I suspected Alan admitted he has not read Tom Lisanti's book.  It is lazy and unprofessional for him to not have done so before speaking with this group.
    • They were always meant to be short-term, I think - at least Mick and Lou.
    • No it's alphabetical between the two openings - the A-whatever is opening 1 and whatever-Z is opening 2. So in theory, if his last name started with an A, he'd be first in opening 1 and they would have had to remove Maurice (who was in opening 2), which requires edits to both. Unless I'm going crazy haha

    • All depends, really. Whichever opening had Johnson would have had to change; it's not like he was in both openings.
    • Well, it's alphabetical, so they got lucky with the actor's name fitting into place like that. Otherwise, if they stayed alphabetical, they could have had to change both.
    • To their credit, the new writers are clever to stick to current events from the time they were taping, versus trying to predict current events at the time the episode airs.  Case in point, Susan and questionable choice to hop on a cruise two days after her son was shot, and the case remains unsolved, so her remains at risk...

Although cruises around the world are not uncommon for Salem citizens like Julie, it seemed like the type of reference DOOL continues to like dropping into scripts for humor. Also, help me understand the Marlena and EJ interaction.  Didn't they come to a mutual détente earlier in the week?  I felt gaslighted, but I could've just as easily misunderstood Marlena's earlier talk to Belle, and then EJ. And is Bo in Boston (near Ceara) or Greece (where he was transferred after he was shot)?  I bet it is expensive to fly a coma patient transatlantically!
    • It was one of the bigger disappointments that Sarah wasn't part of the book.
