June 30, 200718 yr Member I would be more than willing to confirm them, but they haven't been updated, at least not from the place where I get them. I'm not sure what the problem is, but that's the honest truth. Sorry. No need to say sorry. I was just musing on why they were delayed. This site is lucky to have your input. I think most of us know the delays are not your fault. Here are the daily numbers circulating for OLTL. Before you think someone else has better info, it could be just a good guess. We trust YOUR numbers. And we trust you. We can wait. And thanks for being such a consistent soap weathervane. We all love Angela! Mon 2.4 Tues 2.5 Wed 2.4 Thurs 2.3 Fri 2.2
June 30, 200718 yr Member The drama was up 9% among Women 18-34 and 71% among Female Teens versus last week - the most growth of any program in both demos. Additionally, this week marked "OLTL's" best Female Teen delivery in five months. This is amusing. So last week OLTL was up to #8 in the teens from the prior week at #9. So this week they moved to what 5 or 6 maybe 4th place depending upon how the others retained or lost in the demo and they spent how much to make it happen for how long?
July 1, 200718 yr Member I also blame some viewers. They tune out good drama, reward big stunts like a slasher story and the "ice storm", and get talented actresses like (see ATWT casting news spoiler) fired with their constant complaining. It almost makes me want to vomit when I think of all the hate that Elena Goode got back when she first came to ATWT as Jade. Everyone hated the character of course without giving her a chance. And of course the fans thought the actress wasn't good at all. And while I don't have confirmation of this I do know that a lot of people talked about complaing to execs about Jade, etc. Now Elena is gone and the show will lose a HUGE source of great storylines with her.
July 3, 200718 yr Member Excellent post Ann, and ICAM!! Blaming the fans for the pitiful decline of today's soaps is tantamount to blaming the rape victim for being raped. When soaps were consistently good and stayed true to the history of the show AND the history of the characters, the fans were far more willing to remain loyal and continue watching thru good times and bad, but now that soaps show a total disregard for the history and integrity of the shows they write for and the characters that they write for, those same loyal fans are finally throwing up their hands in defeat and saying ENOUGH! I've been watching As the World Turns for almost 30 years and I have been loyal thru good times and bad, only tuning out once during 1996 when the writing team of Sterns and Black made the show too painfully bad for me. But after a year, I returned and have watched ever since. I have never been as disappointed in this once beloved show as I am now and have never been as close to tuning out as I am now. No, it's not the fans who are responsible for the poor ratings, it is the people in charge of writing the show and the people above them who approve what they write. I sooooooooo agree with your post! Amen amen amen! How dare anyone blame us the viewers for the decline in ratings! Was it my fault that days decided to show more newbies and not the vets several months ago? is it my moms fault that she barely watches Guiding light because of the poor pitiful writing?! Please! wake up networks before its too late!
July 3, 200718 yr Member ATWTMonday: 2.0/2,816,000 Tuesday: 2.3/2,971,000 Wednesday: 2.1/2,825,000 Thursday: 2.1/2,826,000 Friday: 2.0/2,637,000 Ouch, horrible ratings for ATWT. The wedding got the highest and the beginning of the remote got the worst. This is not good news......Jean needs her pink slip!
July 3, 200718 yr Member Glad to see DAYS gain in Total Viewers! Good to see the show back at #1 consistenty in 18-34~
July 3, 200718 yr Member So, that Thursday episode of Days that week got a 2.0? That was an amazing episode! Whatever...they got a 2.3 on Friday so hopefully that bodes well for last week's numbers.
