Sami finally has the amnio. Sami, Lucas, and Marlena are shocked to find out at the sonogram she is having twins. It's bittersweet for Sami, but also a legacy since her mom is a twin, she's a twin, and now she is having twins.

Marlena offers to do a "Sami" and switch the results for her to make Lucas the dad but Sami can't go through it. She doesn't want to live a lie, and wants to know the truth.

Meanwhile, Kate finds out from Billie about the whole Chelsea, Nick hairbrush debacle and blackmails Nick into making sure that amnio show EJ is the father. Nick doesn't do that, and he does produce a false report showing EJ is the father.

Marlena finds out the results and tells Sami who is devastated. Lucas still choses to stand by her, and his her knight in shining armor when he protects her. They are now at safe house to keep them safe from the DiMeras.

Nick can't live with what he does, and actually runs the real test, to find out the truth once for all.

I think the real test will confirm the split paternity theory originally suspected. There must be a storyline reason for Sami having twins.

I guess the "and" should be a "but," then. Whichever Lumi fan transcribed this didn't do a good job. There are errors all over the place--and according to Adrianna, editorializing.

So Marlena, the paragon of virtue, happily offers to lie and make a man believe he's the father when he's not. How is that any different to what Kate is doing? She's no better than Kate.

Hmm... I have a few thoughts on this (surprise surprise)...

I agree that the Kate vendetta is overdone and played out. Either shift Lauren Koslow to other storylines or write out the character entirely.

I wouldn't necessarily say what Marlena is doing is out of character (a lot of what Reilly had her do was, but that's JMO). I'd say she would do anything to protect her family, especially Sami and Eric. And I think it's a great nod to history that Sami's having twins.

These spoilers sounded vague, but I'll wait and see.

Knowing how Marlena feels about the Dimera's I'm not sure that it's much out of character.

I think that when Anna Dimera comes back, and possibly sets her sights on Roman, that's when Kate will finally divert her attention from Lumi onto something different. Didn't we get a spoiler where Roman and Kate kiss? Do I smell a Anna/Roman/Kate triangle?

No EJ and Sami spoilers? Have the writers finally begun to show us, the viewers, the Lumi angle to the EJ/Sami/Lucas triangle?

how can Kate blackmail Nick when the Salem PD refuses to press charges and Roman supposidly destroyed the only piece of evidence?!

Considering the latest from Thaao's camp, I highly doubt Anna will set her sights on Roman.

I can understand Marlena wanting to protect Sami from the Dimeras. But she's smart enough and experienced enough (see Belle's paternity) to know that these secrets always come out and ultimately do more harm than good. That's why I find it implausible that she would make such a suggestion.

I think Marlena is more about buying time for Sami than anything with her offer.
