DAYS: The Casting of Jeremy

Will Days remember that Jeremy is part Jewish, as he was raised in Israel by his mother?

He's awfully blonde considering his mother was dark and Michael T. Weiss was dark as well. And I don't detect an Israeli accent.

Hmmm...

Well it depends on how they cast Jeremy. They could've been going with the most recent Mike, and in that case, Roark Critchlow would have been the one they looked upon when casting. Critchlow is a blonde. I will agree that I thought Jeremy would have dark hair. That's how I always imagined him since Mike (Michael T. Weiss) and Robin had dark hair.

There are blonde jews.

If he's blonde and his parents are dark haired, that really has nothing to do with the fact that he's Jewish. DAYS has screwed up casting once again, but religion has nothing to do with it.

I know a fair amount of Jews with blonde hair, but they do have "ethnically" Jewish looks. This Jeremy doesn't even look like he has any Jewish heritage at all. He looks like an A&F model straight out of WASP-land.

They should at least acknowledge the fact his mother's Jewish and he was raised as a Jew. Somehow, I don't see that happening.

Me either, Y&R. He looks too plastic for Jeremy. Like a Ken-doll. Blonde Jeremy is one thing - generic Jeremy is another thing entirely. If they wanted a bland character, they could have picked someone who was automatically so different from the normal soap crowd.

Maybe they'll surprise us, but I doubt it. Hell, he probably converted.

Judaism doesn't exist in Days-land any more. Rename Salem "Genericville".

Or Gentile-ville. F-ing Gentiles!

I mean I'm not saying you can't have WASPs on a show or they can't be good characters, that's ludicrous and eliminates like 90% of all soap characters ever. But they had the opportunity to add something a little different here, and as always they blew the opportunity.

Well he's very good looking. But I think a lot will depend on how he's written.

I must say I can't stand the way they're writing the new "slutty Valley Girl" version of Stephanie. Just in a short time they've made her far more obnoxious than Chelsea or Willow ever were at their worst.

I hate the new Stephanie and I hope she's fired ASAP and Shayna Rose returns.

Hopefully, your words to TPTB's ears. You have a lot of people that agree with you, including myself.

Hmmm...

What about his grandparents? Were any of his grandmothers blond because hair color can skip a generation? Like Michael on GH got his red hair from Bobbie.

Well, to be fair ... Jennifer (his aunt) is blonde. Abby (his cousin) is blonde. Laura (his grandmother) is blonde.

And Mike (Roark Critchlow) was indeed blonde (I always thought of it as brown/blonde ... dirty blonde?), so ... I buy it, but I just didn't picture Jeremy looking like this and acting like this ... I really REALLY hope they add some depth.

I also found it ludicrous that no one even blinked when it was mentioned Jeremy's last name was Horton. At least on Monday we see Nick mention Jeremy is his cousin but they don't know each other ...

You just agreed with Rion.
