I am glad I am not the only one that's not liking this Stephanie. If she said PAPA one more time I was going to throw something at the t.v!! Where did that come from anyway? I"ve never heard her call him papa before? Please change that papa craziness!!!!!

I seriously don't get all the "Papa" hate! Some kids call their father's Papa. What's the big deal?

Steve and Kayla always referred to him as Papa to baby Stephanie. Never "dad" or "daddy." Kayla reintroduced Stephanie (Shayna Rose at the time) to Steve with "Baby girl, this is your Papa." SR as Stephanie called him Papa sometimes but not consistently. This isn't something that just got pulled out of SH's butt *g*

The Brady boys all call their father "Pop." The Brady girls call him "Pop" or "Papa," depending on the mood. SOME KIDS SAY PAPA. It's really not the sign of the apocalypse or anything.

Good show today, its really such a nice change seeing John...And its great seeing Marlena not being a prop for Steve and Kayla...Just seeing simple things like Marlena shaving John and telling him about Sami's green wedding was a nice touch...The coin thing was even kind of cool...Belle and Marlena's conversation was great...Deidre and Martha make a fantastic mother/daugther combo..

The sami/lucas scenes were kind of boring until they found out about EJ...And i liked that Bo, Kayla, Lucas and Sami all shared some scenes together...The end was a nice cliffhanger finding out EJ wasn't in the cabin....Also i was excited to see Marlena in the previews with Hope tomorrow..

Marlena was just stunning today. I don't know how this woman can get more beautiful as years go by; she must have found the Fountain of Youth. It was so great seeing her and John, although it would be much better if he wasn't in a coma. But I'm taking it as a good sign that at least he's on my screen again. I was glad Belle and Marlena had their talk; it seems like ages since we've seen this family interact.

I just cannot stand Sami/Lucas love scenes. The slurping, the gasping, Sami's whoops of laughter...please, no more! I'm so torn here because I really want Sami to finally have a wedding that ends in a marriage, but I'm not wanting her married to Lucas. I feel their time has come and gone, and she needs to move on. But his reaction when he thought EJ was dead was amusing, although he should have been more sympathetic to what an awful death that would be, considering his past experiences with fire.

Loved, loved Belle slamming the door in Gabby's face. I hope it smacked her right in the nose.

The show was good. When Belle showed up at the room and pulled the cell phone out, I was really excited, saying yes, yes, yes. That was the best thing she has done since taking off from Salem. Loved seeing Marlena and John although they seemed out of place now being so long gone.

Stephanie was overdone today and not good. The girl is too tall in my idea of Stephanie I suppose because none of the Brady's are very tall. Steve isn't terribly tall, either. That bothers me. It also bothers me that EJ is so much taller than everyone else. Maybe I have a thing about tall people. Never noticed that before. I think if the mix is even that it doesn't stand out so much. Drake is tall, but he always seem to blend in.

What is bothering me is that two days ago when Shawn walked into the hotel room to find it empty, both twin beds were completely made up perfectly. Then when he brought Gabby in, one of the beds was messed up and today when Belle walked in, both beds were a wreck.

What excited me the most is Kayla's determination to get Steve out of the clutches of that DiMera hired doctor....and Frankie was mentioned. I'd love for Frankie to come back. Billie needs a man and he would fill that bill so well.

I really enjoyed the show today. I guess Kayla's slapping Stephanie was the biggest surprise. I understand Stephanie's hurt, but there is no way that Kayla is going to turn her back on Steve. I'm so glad that we are stilling seeing what made the supercouples on Days so special. Kayla loves Steve and will never give up on him. Great to see Marlena taking care of John. Such a simple scene but once again showed us that she loves John more than her own life. Now we need some of this from Bo and Hope. I really liked the way they did the scene with Kayla/Bo and Sami/Lucas finding out about EJ. They way they transitioned between scenes was really good. I guess the credit goes to the director? I'm not sure. Good to see the Shawn/Belle story moving along. It looks like they might be home soon.

GREAT SHOW today.

What a week this has been. The show has been ok in April but since Friday it has really came on strong.

First off, I still don't understand the "papa" outrage. As others mentioned, it's what Kayla and Steve referred to him is. Yes, it was annoying hearing it so much but it won't always be like that. That should be the least of anyone's concerns . I think it's right for the characters and their relationship. It really is adorable. Now, I can't express enough how good nuStephanie is. She has shown she needs work but the potential is there and she holds her own with vets well. Her scenes with Bo and Kayla today were family drama and interaction at its best. I was shocked when Kayla slapped her and MBE played that scene so well as she was in horror at hitting her child. Peter Reckell has great chemistry with her too. I liked it because I could see both sides to the issue and I am so happy they are focusing alot on Steve missing so much of Stephanie's life. I also loved the mention of Jo and Kim and how Kayla never went to visit Stephanie. When is the last time we heard a mention of Jo let alone Kim? That was great.

Sami/Lucas were filler up until halfway through but I always like how we have humor in their love scenes. It was great having Lucas and Sami be happy and smiling for once. I liked the way it went back and forth with them and Kayla/Bo when the news of EJ hit. Lucas's reaction was priceless although a mention of his past with burning in fire would have been nice but can't have everything. I liked having Sami, Lucas, Bo, and Kayla interact and Sami's face at the end upon learning there was no body was great. Good ending there.

It was great seeing J&M again. Simple scenes and they were all about them for the first time in awhile. So happy Belle took action and called her. That talk was needed. Martha's acting while playing Belle's reactions this week with Dee and Drake has been just as the audience is reacting. You can tell Martha is just as happy to be working with them again as the fans are seeing them. Good to see Marlena giving advice. I am glad there was movement with the Shelle stuff and the fight between Gabby and Belle was good stuff. I never cared much for the whole coin/dream thing on Days because it's so hokey but it worked today. It had a magical and inspirational feel to it.

Has anyone also noticed a change in the music? I noticed it a few other times this week but I really noticed it today during the final segment in J&M's scene and Shawn and Belle's scene. The music in those scenes was like classic, emotional Days couple music and it was fantastic. Hope they keep using that.

Great week. So happy to see Marlena and Hope again tomarrow along with Bo. This is a vet-laden week and I love it.

Maybe I missed comment on it, but, as sweet as it was, Hogan really went JER with that John/Marlena scene. There is NO WAY he'd have that coin in his clutch.

Sorry, not buyin' it!

Oh, and Lucas? SHAME ON YOU for taking glee in another human being's supposed DEATH. Jerk!

Stephanie? SHUT UP, "papa" WHORE!

(Incidentally, this new Stephanie's growing on me -- they just need to nix the damn PAPA roll they're on!)

    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.
