Days of our Lives Green Wedding

Lumi good for each other and good for the Earth

Finally tying the knot, Days of our Lives fan favorite couple, Lucas (Bryan Datillo) and Sami (Alison Sweeney) take to the aisle and host a grand green wedding and reception on May 8 and 9th. Partnering with the fabulous wedding website The Knot, the folks over at Days chose to get the word on "going green" out to the masses.

Here's just a little of the environmentally conscious aspects of Lumi's wedding that you can expect to see on the day...

*To keep it green, many of the flowers for the LUMI green wedding will be living arrangements – in other words, potted plants, that can be transplanted and reused. All the cut flowers are either organic and/or locally grown courtesy of The Hidden Garden.

*The rings that Sami and Lucas will exchange come from Tacori, a “green business” famous for their signature crescent silhouette trademarked design and known for using conflict free diamonds.

*The dress for Sami and Lucas’ wedding will be created out of pure silk from the leading innovative fashion house of Monigue Lhuillier.

*Sami and Lucas’ wedding cake from NancyKay's Confections will be made of organic flour, organic dairy products, free range eggs and other natural ingredients.

*Lehr & Black are providing printed menus, invitations and place cards made from recycled paper and raw silk.

*The wedding will be catered by Ben Ford of Ford's Filling Station and the event planned by event planner to the stars, Debbie Geller of Geller Events. FYI, Ben Ford is the son of Indiana Jones himself, Harrison Ford.

Nah...as long as they get married, the right people are there, and they milk it for everything they can it will will be fine. Making it last that long will be like JER is writing  . I do see your point. It needs to be HUGE and this has to happen now. They are promoting it far too much and getting the fans too involved for it not to happen. Hell, that Soapnet marathon focusing on Sami is basically another way of hyping the wedding too IMO (it takes place on May 12, the same week as the wedding so I am thinking they are doing it to get people into watching the show via the regular weekly marathon on May 13).

This sounds great. I can't wait and I hope they use this as a springboard for the rest of the month and summer.

OMG!

How CLEVER!

Not only are they using this huge event to highlight an important issue but by using real companies they are probably being comp'd items, or at the very least getting a serious break on cost. Anyone that has paid for a typical wedding can appreciate the saving that can be made if they aren't paying full rate for flowers, dress, rings, cake etc.

Theres is more hype on this wedding than any of Sami's prior wedding plans. This is it, she's getting married! Theres always the possibility of Lucas and Sami seperating later, but this wedding has to occur, or I think a lot of fans including myself will be turned away.

For once, I give TPTB credit for ingenuity.

I just hope they don't drop the ball with the wedding guests. It will really take away from the whole spectacle if the congregation consists of 5 characters and a bunch of extras. Obviously, Alice wasn't be there and the Hayes start taping next month so also no Doug & Julie.

At the very least, I expect:

Marlena, Bo, Hope, Maggie, Roman, Caroline, Grandpa Shawn, Will, Phillip, Kate, Billie, Chelsea, Nick, Abe, Celeste, Steve & Kayla. John & Belle should be there but I assume the former will still be in a coma and the latter still on the island.

No skimping, Corday!

Chelsea is a maid of honor and without Belle to be the matron of honor, will Billie be there to fill in? Stephanie will surely be there and I suppose Abby will already be gone.

Steve to kill someone???? I don't think it's Shawn so who else could it be. Lucas? John? Also, it could be Sami or Shawn but I see no reason to kill Sami and Shawn is a puff in the wind to EJ, however, who knows.

    • Jordan should have been killed or written out a decade ago.
    • Xander kidnapped her a few times when she was a baby I much prefer this bitchy version of Rafe to the dull one we have had for the past few years. Leo would get on my last nerve too and I would probably have snapped by now too. Loved Roman and Doug3. My favourite scenes today. Much better than his forced kindness to Ava. About time somebody pointed out Sophia is an adult any minute and can decide her own life. This is not Handmaid's Tale. I bet Mrs Choi snatches that baby though if Sophia signs it over to 'strangers'
    • Hmm, well, I thought yesterday was "Dialog City" so at least IMO it was well done talk. Today I'm all about how harsh Dante just was to Gio & I get it that he's so scared but it's all coming out like anger - and judgment, harsh judgment. But, what they're doing is putting as much bad, troubling icky stuff between Dante & Gio as they can & it's a set-up. Good writing, acting, directing, tho. What's weird is I only recently realized that Lulu does not know it's Gio.
    • Yes, that's the way it went, the dramatic beats, the increased info dropped. Actually, his being Janice's son was such clever writing, at least IMO.  Yes, I was of this same impression. Both were charming but the first ... more layered maybe? More complex? The second maybe less sophisticated.
    • His original motives were unclear and all we knew was that he was working for Iris. But when it was revealed that Evan was Janice's son we found out that he had fallen in with Iris not because he wanted to follow Iris specifically but because he had his own anti-Rachel agenda. Charles Grant had more charisma than the later recast Eric Scott Woods who seemed younger to me.
    • Throwing this out to the universe: finding Elisabeth Shue's episode of As the World Turns (which I guess would have been circa 1983, maybe just before RDJ started watching Search for Tomorrow).

    • I thought today was still good. Leo is always awful, but the characters treating him like he's a plague feeds my soul. Rafe in particular had been very passive about him, but today was wonderful seeing him put Leo on notice. I really think it's being written that Javi is going to have to eventually take the blinders off and see Leo for who he really is. Them having sex on Gabi's desk made me want to explode. Roman taking in stray Doug was nice to see. And the mention of Frankie and Max was unexpected, but good to know they're at least being thought of. Tate being petty and a bit vindictive by going back to Sophia's as soon as he saw Doug with Holly was entertaining for me. I think I actually like Tate the most out of all of them because he's so damn messy.  Is Holly about to be kidnapped? Her first time? Also, Gabi finally revealing what happened with her the night EJ was shot and the clearing of all the other main suspects, but Johnny made this still feel like an important episode. I think Johnny will be cleared soon enough leaving everybody at a loss for the hell shot EJ. How the real shooter will be revealed is going to be interesting.  Speculation: When Kristen finally puts together that her daughter Rachel shot him, she'll agree to frame her mother for the crime, while keeping her hidden away from Salem.
    • That would have saved the Anita singing segment -- having her by herself, singing quietly and reflectively. Belting it out like she was in church did not work. The black screens fade at the end was a mistake. BTG insists on being different with these fades for the sake of being different, and it's not working.   I thought all of that was just fine. Worked for me.   I'm going to disagree with this. Martin hasn't had many scenes with his parents, but he's been around family A LOT -- and that's what matters. We also know Martin is someone with a hair trigger response. He can be very emotional when discussing an issue before getting to the logic and reason of it all.
