Again, she wasn't the writer. She just performed it, LoL.

She made it fun. She didn't take it too seriously... she just went out there and did it. It was bizarre, she knew it, and she played it as such.

With Jean (Hack) Passanante as HW it will be just as bad. Bad acting plus bad writing=Disaster!!! I know Days fans are happy but I am not! this is bad news for ATWT ...IMO.

Heather is AMAZING. Like others have said, she turned an extremely unlikeable character into the one to watch. I wasn't a Jan fan, but I sure am a Heather fan. She acted rings around everyone else in her age bracket (okay, so beating Fath, Cook, et al wasn't that hard, but still).

I just might check this out. Congratulations, ATWT fans. You got a good one!

I've said my peace on this casting. The ratings will tumble with this awful storyline. I will FF all their scenes. The only thing looking good this summer is Lucinda/Craig clash and Luke's romance(possible triangle).

Oh, if ATWT's ratings fall (not that they can go much lower), it won't solely be because of Lindell's hiring/story. It will be because Jean Passanante couldn't write a good story on her own if she'd taken a class taught by Marland, Phillips, and Nixon. It will be because we get the same 10 characters shoved down our throats day in and day out. But it won't be because of this.

Actually, ATWT did a dual role back in 2001 with Rose and Lily. Rose is dead now, though, she occasionally resurfaces as a "conscience" figure for Lily.

As far as Lindell, I'm happy that she was chosen!! I heard all the rumblings way back when about her auditioning for Maddie or whatever character it was, and I'm glad TPTB chose her. Hopefully, she's fine tuned her acting skills just a tad, but aside from that, I'm excited. :)

One thing I have to say is....

Why does Lindell always have to get stuck with the not-so-good writers? I mean, we will just have to see, but I think her talent was majorly underused at Days. And I have little faith in Passonate.

I loved Heather Lindell on Days and she is in my opinion a good actress.Even with Reilly's writing Lindell managed to rise above so-so writing .If Lindell's talent could rise above Reilly's writing then she can rise above Jean's horrible. Some actors can rise above the material they are given and Lindell seems to one of them.

Good for her. She should've been snatched up sooner. She is great and like others said she always did the best she could with JER's writing. She will give it her all so if Jean can write her something decent it can be great.

This is not enough to get me to tune into ATWT everyday again though. I like Lindell but they need to do more then that. I always said that Lindell should return to Salem but now I'm not so sure. I think it may be better to let Jan be for now but, obviously, she is at ATWT now so I wish her luck.

    • I did some research and the story wrapped up with a caretaker responsible for Georgina's death who then  tried to do away with Laurie but a vision of Georgina spooked him and he fell to his death. So there was a supernatural element.
    • AI has it wrong. David was working as an aide at PV Hospital due to failing to save his brother's life and refusing to continue as a doctor. His true profession was revealed later. Edna had divorced him while he was in Vietnam and he had no reason to be in contact with her. He had no idea that he had a daughter.  Ruth was Ruth Martin, she was still married to Joe, not Jeff. He was not deceiving Ruth as he believed that Edna was his ex. The poisoning story happened late in his run and probably introduced when they knew Gleason was leaving. AI's interpretation of him as conniving seems to based on that short lived poisoning story and other misinformation. For most of 76 he was involved in the Ruth/Joe triangle to the point where Ruth was ready to divorce Joe and leave town. Joe had to have surgery, David operated and Ruth suddenly realized she wanted to stay with Joe despite all the problems they'd been happening. David then got involved with Christina with Jeff and then Edna as complications. And he arrived late 75 not 76.
    • Interesting that they started going into a supernatural direction with ghosts - I don't think they really did that before? I wonder if it was a response to getting put so late in the afternoon and I guess trying to appeal to that former Dark Shadows audience?
    • That makes sense then! Is there a place where you can read more Daytime Serial Newsletters? They sound very informative. Thank you

    • Yep. Access to the Vault works fine but upon downloading attempts an error message pops up.   Maybe it is just a temporary glitch.

    • Downloading isn't working at all.
    • I'm pretty sure this ep is  from Dec 73 From the Daytime Serial Newsletter Ian and Valerie Northcote are deeply concerned over Laurie's  life being increasingly dominated by hallucinations and fantasies about Georgina, the former owner of the house the Reddins recently bought and are now living in. Doreen Post (Linda Purl) was involved in that story .Perhaps she was going to be revealed as Georgina's daughter? Wonder how that story evolved and whether it was wrapped up before cancellation? and thanks to @skylark

    • Many thanks to @skylark and @DRW50!
    • Thank u so much! I love that show and the more I see of it the more I want to find more of it even if it’s just in script form. But that house and especially the room looked like Victoria Winters room from dark shadows lol  this was great find! Thanks
