I agree with you on Brooke/Dixie.

But I'm not sure if you've watched the last 2-3 weeks...but the show has been anything BUT the Josh/Babe hour. It is heavy on Krystal, mainly bc she is having the baby and Adam found out about her infedelity....but you might be happy with the balance lately.

Ryan's assessment for AMC was spot on.

I think the show has improved so much over the last month or so. Each scene means something.... the interactions between characters are so much more focused, and better written. And its who they are interacting with. There is so much emotion written into the show, its like its the old AMC. The actors have really been giving such solid performances. Transition always breathes life into a show. The same exact thing happend when McTavish first came back in 2003. The performances were amazing.

The show is not being focused around one character anymore. There is balance. Babe may still be on alot but the show isn't revolving around her anymore. She is a supporting character. The show right now is revolving around Adam, Krystal, Erica, Tad, Jack, characters we want the show revolved around (except maybe Krystal).

The Tad/Adam feud is one of the long lasting ones in daytime and its great to see that brought full circle again. AMC is back for me, I can't wait to see what is in store for the next few months.

Pacing: A (the stories are moving faster, but not too fast)

Balance: B (It isn't the Babe show or the Kendall show its more of a group effort)

Acting: A+ (David Canary, Bobbie Eakes, Alexa Havins, Jacob Young, Ambyr Childers, MEK) the list goes on as to which performers are giving emmy calibre performances.

Overall: B (Well on its way!)

The only thing bad about AMC is Josh! He is really annyoing!

I'm not sure you do. My dream for Erica was a son. No one else I ever knew wanted a son for her. But I did. I wanted Josh. I wanted him to be her son. I was HIS biggest fan. You have no idea how hard I fought for Josh and Colin before the fetus reveal. I wanted my girl to have her son. Period. He was my dream for Erica, come true.

And instead he turned into a nightmare, that ended up ruining AMC for me. Sucked the magic out. Killed the love I felt for the show. He made me unable to look at Erica for a long time. He's a symbol of the utter disrespect shown to AMC, to women, to what made me love AMC and Erica in the first place. I'm never going to forget MMT having Erica run around like she did something terrible, and try to make Josh love her. That's not Erica, and she was 100% sure of her decision when she made it. And to have her run around and apologize almost, try to explain herself, makes me sick. I won't have anything to do with a show that sends that kind of message.

He's the reason that when I think of AMC, I don't think of the magic and love I once had for it...now it's just, a feeling of "okay, what's next? What are they going to do next, and call storyline?" Who are they going to insult and slap in the face next?

I'm sorry, but I refuse to watch AMC and never feel like it's safe. Like I don't have to constanly worry what comes next. And I will.

It's hard for a lot of people to understand, but as long as he's there, no amount of balance. No amount of vets. No amount of Babe free TV, is going to get back what AMC took from me making Josh the fetus. He's like a gapping hole in AMC. A piece of what made the show so special, so groundbreaking, so gripping...just gone. :(

As long as he's there, for me, MMT always will be too.

The shakey cams is all that bothered me and those have not been used since the fall. I think when they originally reported they were doing away with the "film look" they just meant the shakey cams. I really hope they keep the simulated film look. IMO the show looks better with it.

AMC is a solid B. Its SOOO much better than it waqs a few months ago. I love that its toned down the repetitve JR/Babe/Josh nonsense. That was really bringing the show down for me

Between Ryan/Annie, Zoe/Bianca and Di/Aidan with Lily and Eva, this show is well on its way to being back on top for me

Well I get where you're coming from Kylie - I mean I've read all that before bc you've said it all so many times.

But if AMC bothers you that much, and you can't bear to watch - then why come read about it everyday - if you're afraid of what's next, then why do you continue to watch clips from your friend that provides you daily clips -- and then come here and comment on them? You might as well just watch the full episode, right? Don't get me wrong, I love you commenting here, but if it gets to you THAT much, why stay up with the show and watch daily clips...which btw contradicts your 'I haven't watched AMC in forever' thing....

Well, I'm far from the only person who doesn't watch anymore but still keeps tabs on the show. It's actually quite a popluar thing to do. I used to keep posting, because there was hope that Josh would leave, or be fixed, for awhile and I wanted to be be able to have to my show back. I wanted to be able to come on here one day, and feel like I got that part of me that was gone with out AMC back. Now, it's more just a habit. I don't know my life without AMC to some degree. When I didn't watch, I had the boards to come to. Truth be told, I don't care anymore. I wouldn't care if tomorrow Josh left. I wouldn't care if Vincent was rehired and I got D&E back. I'm just here because I will always bleed AMC, and it's nice to know that it was saved for those of you that still love it. :) Believe it or not, that what I wanted more then Josh being gone. I wanted no one to have to lose it the way I did. And that came true (minus the T&D fans, who I feel for more then anyway) :) I love that all of you are feeling good about it again. That takes some of the sting off Josh. MMT is gone, that helps too. But never enough.

After the new team takes over, I going to stop posting, reading spoilers, etc. For my own piece of mind. So no worries, I'll be out in a few weeks.

I know that this isn't really on topic 100%, so I won't stay on this for long and hopefully won't start a debate...but was the message really that unrealistic? I mean, maybe Erica didn't have guilt or these feelings when she had the abortion because she knew (well, "knew") that the baby was gone. But after she saw that her son was alive, she knew that Josh must have felt a sense of abandonment. She was just trying to see things through his eyes.

    •  Yeah, he is still dressed like Martin. He looks great, though.  Cute picture. Sober up, cause we need the tea.
    • Well, Claire did rig Rick's test results, but it was to flunk. They actually managed to get his correct results back after they were thrown into Cedar's furnace...I think? Everyone knew Claire changed them and Rick passed so that rewrite never made sense.   I agree. Pratt always seems "edgy" on screen (and her Locker Room interview prooved that it came from her personality.) I liked Claire causeing trouble and love Meta ringing her beads. Its just too bad that Abby left and they kinda just forgot Claire existed.
    • Oh so they did sleep together. The retcon was just the medical boards? That makes sense. I think Susan Pratt, while a good actress, was just an unlikeable presence onscreen and soaps wrote to that most of the time. There was some potential for more with her when she returned in that stint, as Pratt was at least interesting to watch and caused some conflict for the stifled Bauers. Instead of pairing her with Alan and then disappearing I might have had her hook up with Danny. I think there was a lot of flirtation with Bolger's Philip, but they never crossed the line.
    • I haven't seen Melchior in the role, but it would be astounding if she's worse than Linn. Her rivalry with Stephanie was sidelined IMO because Linn was one of the few actors who didn't have chemistry with, nor raise her game, when paired with Susan Flannery. To be fair, she did show some signs of life in scenes opposite Darlene Connelly, but way too little too late. It feels like Bell finally woke up after the Thorne switchover and sidelined the Kristin character with Mick to 1 or 2 appearances a week. As a result, the show improved by leaps and bounds after she was inexplicably at the center of the show for most of 1989. Margo is so much more enjoyable when not tied to that albatross. Even Clarke is watchable with less Kristin interaction. She can't exit stage left soon enough. As for the new Thorne, I agree that Norcross feels like a Forrester a lot more than Thrachta, even if the latter is a better actor.
    • The cast said that scenes were filmed over a few weeks, with a preplanned hiatus in the middle, and it was all out of order.  I would *guess* that they used Chandler when they could get him? They also had to work around Leo Howard getting married around the time these episodes were filmed, but I guess they worked it out since Tate appeared.
    • Maybe there was a scheduling conflict or something. He still has the full time 9-5 in Atlanta, right? Julie was there. Idk if Maggie’s gonna be a part of it though
    • At this point, the best nonpaywall coverage of Los Angeles (and anything political)  is in...the Tennessee Holler https://bsky.app/profile/thetnholler.bsky.social And as always, emptywheel continues to be consistent https://bsky.app/profile/emptywheel.bsky.social
    • Today Monday was the start of people arriving at the funeral, but the service hasn't started yet.  I know this is the nonspoiler thread but I think it's okay to say (in nonspecific terms) that the funeral episodes span a few days.  I won't detail it more here. Just sayin' keep watching.
    • Why am I only now hearing about what happened in L.A., lol?
    • While I agree that Reeves is Jennifer, I honestly do prefer Cady McClain in the role, as I feel she had/has a wider range of acting capabilities than I feel Reeves has. It's the strength of an actor, ultimately, for me, regardless of how I feel about Reeves' political/social views (which I widely disagree with). Plus, not to mention, they costumed Reeves like an old-fashioned frumpy farm/Moron wife, while McClain had some fashion-forward moments.
