I'm a liberal down to my core, however, I don't think the F-bomb is a great word. You know, there should be some respect for civility. There are bad words and there are inappropriate words. The F-word is inappropriate. Chewing with your mouth open is bad manners, picking your nose in public is bad manners and some use of the language is bad manners.

I admit that it bothers me that there is no difference between words that should be used in private convesations and even then sparingly and words that it's OK to use in public and not sparingly. So I guess the next question is what is OK and what isn't and who decides. In this case, I think it's norm and I think that maybe we've been far too lax in the norm as of late. OK off my soapbox. Honestly, the only reason I weighed in is because of some idea that because I am politically liberal, I excuse bad manners. I feel like it's like a small majority of conservatives who believe I will go to hell because I don't vote Republican. LOL.

On to Trevor's remarks. I think TPTB are brilliant for not liking Todd and Evangeline. I think they are a bomb not da bomb. I must agree strongly with the previous post, however. I think Blair is great and really she is so much better than Not Todd. I also think that TSJ did call em idiots. I guess TPTB aren't totally caving into his contract demands as of yet.

It really is the character who is the star and not necessarily the actors who play him, IMO>

LOL, Jess, talk about different strokes for different folks. I really enjoy watching Todd & Evangeline AND I like TSJ's portrayal of SortaNuTodd! Even if it's not how Roger Howarth would have played it. RH was very much opposed to Todd becoming in a viable romantic lead. TPTB and TSJ don't seem to have a problem with that.

On the other hand, Todd is treating Blair badly -- and, in fact, has done all these years -- and she really does deserve better. I'd like to see her stop begging and start rejecting him.

My ideal would be to have both TSJ and RH on OLTL, but that's just me.

As for what TSJ may (or may not) have said. Well, if he did say that, he's absolutely right. TIIC are idiots. IMO it sounds like he's covering his a$$ in the midst of contract negotiations.

I agree.

Todd will never be a viable romantic lead. The character has raped multiple women, and attempted to rape too many times for his rapist tendencies to be glossed over ala a Luke. The violent sociopath part of the character is also the defining part of the character. That IMO is what TSJ and Dena both don't get.

I agree.

I'll go one further, the show could stand just as much a break from Todd as it can from John.

I agree there Cat. It is different strokes for different folks. It's interesting that Todd, Podd or Not!Todd does seem to generate such polarizing opinions. RH didn't want to play the character as romantic lead and considering Todd's past, there is good reason, IMO.

I will be curious to see what happens.

    • Eeek. I didn't know this either! I will say, though, even though they skimmed over a lot of Roger's past, I will give them props for not trying to turn him into a hero. Yeah, I was hoping we would get more 1986 episodes than were available on YT before, but now I'm wondering if I really want to see that.
    • That's what Julie Hanan Carruthers is doing for BTG at the new studio in Atlanta, but JHC is credited. And @errol said JHC is working in a nonproduction capacity at Y&R.
    • I remember when the whole Missy Reeves controversy started in 2012.  She tweeted support of a business that had made homophobic statements. Greg Rikaart (who was on Y&R back then) publicly called her out on it, but was willing to reach out and speak with her. Article here: https://greginhollywood.com/greg-rikaart-talks-about-his-twitter-war-with-fellow-soap-star-melissa-reeves-over-anti-gay-chick-fil-a-73139 That being said, ten years later, on DAYS, in 2022, when they had they double wedding of Leo/CraigWesley and Gwen/Xander, Jack and Jennifer came to the wedding.  At that time, Missy Reeves was only intermittently available for DAYS. Jennifer was living "in Boston" and Cady McClain and Missy were each intermittently appearing as Jennifer, on the specific occasions when the show required a Jennifer to appear. Missy wasn't on contract and she could have said no. But she chose to appear as Jennifer for the gay wedding of Greg Rikaart's character.   So... I mean... I would assume they reached a détente behind-the-scenes. Missy still has her belief system but there's that.
    • That was one of the best grandslam finals.  Alcaraz comes all the way back down 2 sets to 0, and three match points in the 3rd set, to win it in a 5th set tie-break.  And the quality of play was excellent - so many great shots.  What a battle!
    • Indeed. I may try to watch it in full sometime, but not anytime soon... Mark played Sean Baxter for a few episodes when Courtney married Andy. Burke was either on Broadway or at OLTL at that time, I suppose.
    • Well, Josh was a horndog. LOL Yep. It was one of the first really weird things Reva did with her PPD. She became obsessed with the idea that Dylan and Sam should get married. Sam was only 17, and needed her parent's permission. Reva helped them leave town so they could go to a neighboring state where Sam was old enough. Ross, Billy and Josh stopped them, then Sam went to India to try and persaude Justin. Reva followed her and didn't tell Josh she was going. While Reva was gone, Josh advertised for nannies, and Harley applied. He ended up hiring someone else. But when Reva returned, she hired Harley because (in her weird mental state) she wanted someone she could trust with the kids (because she feared Josh was trying to get rid of her and that Vanessa wanted the children.). After Reva starts treatment, she asks Harley to stay until she's stronger because she's good with the kids. At the party, Reva starts going off the rails, insulting Justin and Josh hauls her to a private dining room to ask WTF. Reva starts confronting him about the "affair" with Vanessa, and he realizes she is weird. He locks her in the dining room and frees Mindy and Van from the ladies room (where Reva has locked them in). Van starts telling him that Reva attacked her and needs help.  Reva escapes out the window of the dining room and goes back to the party, climbs onto a table and starts a striptease. Josh gets her to stop, takes her home and after filling Ed in, decides to go to the doctor the next day. Reva then takes off and spends days running around town, coming on to a guy she thinks is Billy, Billy, Hamp, Frank and Roger.  Roger takes her to his apartment and takes nude pictures of her, which he tries to blackmail Billy with. He wants the deed to the land the Towers is on in exchange for them. (Billy had been left the deed by a sweet old lady who lost her home in the 5th street fire. Roger had stolen the deed from her before she died. After Roger took those pics of Reva, she saw him hide them, and took an envelope from the hiding place. She didn't realize she'd taken the deed and not the pictures.)  Anyway, Billy and Vanessa trick Roger into burning the pictures, claim the deed and at the Towers opening reveal that Billy owns the land and therefore the Towers. That's what led to Roger and Alex's breakup and Roger and Mindy's affair. Mark Lewis was on ATWT? 1986 is not a good year, storywise. No bueno. Muy no bueno.
    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.

    • Cat herself will be a stumbling block all her own as she vowed to Chad to stay away from him, thus redeeming her of her crime morally. Classic DAYS would have them gazing longingly at each other at Doug's Place or Blondie's, while Liz is serenading the room with a song aptly chosen to represent their feelings of emotional turmoil.
