IN AN NBC DAYTIME FIRST, "DAYS OF OUR LIVES" FANS DECIDE WHAT OLD, NEW, BORROWED AND BLUE GIFTS SAMI BRADY WILL RECEIVE FOR HER "GREEN" WEDDING THROUGH ONLINE VOTING AT NBC.COM

BURBANK -- March 19, 2007 -- Beginning March 19 through April 14, fans of NBC's hit daytime drama "Days of our Lives" (1 p.m. in most markets) can vote online at NBC.com to help select the special gifts that Sami Brady (Allison Sweeney) will receive from her family and friends on her wedding day. 'Days' fans have the unique opportunity to be part of Sami's wedding by voting multiple times for their favorite elements that will be incorporated into her "green" wedding by logging onto NBC.com/days. Over the next few weeks, viewers will be able to choose from the following categories once a week: something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue…and in a unique twist to tie in with Sami's "green wedding" her friends and family will get her something green! The special items that are chosen by viewers will be given as gifts. Something old from Caroline (Peggy McCay), something new from Hope (Kristian Alfonso), something borrowed from Marlena (Deidre Hall), something blue from Chelsea (Rachel Melvin) and something green from Kayla (Mary Beth Evans). And, all the gifts will be eco-friendly and fans will get to see their choices on air. Sami is excited to be marrying the man she has always truly loved, Lucas Roberts (Bryan Dattilo), and to be carrying his child once again. But, there's one small problem -- the baby might be EJ's (James Scott), who is desperately trying to find out the truth, causing Sami additional stress before her wedding.

LoL, at least they're not asking us to name Sami's baby....yet.

I'm happy about Marlena, Caroline & Chelsea being involved. It's a bit lame having Kayla and Hope giving her gifts. Sami & Hope have always had a frosty relationship and Kayla...has Sami even had one scene with her?

However, it's nice to know the big guns will be at the wedding. :)

Man, if only they'd name the baby after her mother. They didn't do it with Belle, they need to do it with Sami.

At first, I thought this was sure proof that Sami finally goes through with a wedding; that is, until I remembered that these types of gifts are given BEFORE the cermony.

I can't imagine them doing all this if the wedding wasn't going to go through. None of Sami's failed weddings in the past got this much positive promotion.

Not true. Sami's Vegas storyline was very heavily promoted, more than this one. It was featured on the primetime entertainment shows and evertying, because Nancy O'Dell was guest starring as the wedding planner.

I would love to see Sami finally married for once, but do you think Hogan would end the tradition?

I wish Hogan would give us something original for Sami and Alison Sweeney to play. It's a shame when you think back. Sami's had a wedding every single year since 2002. Austin-02, Brandon-03, Lucas-04 (wasn't until the next year, but most of the planning was in 2004), Lucas-05, Austin-06 and now Lucas-07. It's starting to get stale if you ask me.

I think this is a great idea. It also assures us that the vets will be at the wedding and tells me we are building to good things. I think Kayla and Hope are involved because they are family and let's remember everyone started changing their perceptions of her when she got that award for saving Lucas so it makes sense. I like that they give her gifts. It will be like showing her how proud they are that she has matured and finally grown up.

I am with Ponz in thinking this time the wedding will go through. Between this and the other wedding news that was posted last week it just seems like too much promotion for it not to happen.

I read about this earlier, and i think this is a great idea to get fans involved in Sami's wedding, which is shaping up to be a huge may sweeps event....I'm glad that Caroline and Marlena are getting to be apart of the wedding, at least we know they will be there..

Now i'm beginning to wonder if Belle and Shawn are still going to be gone when the wedding happens...I assumed they would be back in salem for the wedding...who knows now...
