AMC: Greenlee is Returning

I just hope to God that the rumored actresses that were listed awhile back are not them. They were all way too young for Greenlee. I did read on another board that some of those actresses are being considered for Babe recasts if Alexa Havins does decide to leave the show later this year. That board is reporting that Erin Hershey Presley is being highly considered to replace Havins as Babe if Havins does leave.

I won't name the board because I do not know if they are reliable or not.

Melissa Claire Egan should have been a Greenlee recast but the ship has sailed on that one. I really dont see much of a purpose for Greenlee at this point bc everyone has moved on from her and she isnt needed. Ryan has a worthy love interest in Annie and they seem to be better received than him with Greens and I dont want to see yet another triangle. Kendall has new rivals in Annie and Babe. Jack has his hands full with Sean, Lily, Bianca and Kendall. Greenlee's return would seem a bit forced adn she shouldnt return unless there was really a good story. I always thought a good one for that would be if it were revealed that she were Spike's real biological mother. That would provide some juicy material for all the characters involved with him.

As far as Budig as GH's Brenda, that has been rumored ever since she left AMC, actually before. Its been about a year and a half now and still nothing

If having Greelee back would cut down on some of the airtime given to Kendall & Babe I would be all for it. I would hate it being a new face getting alot of airtime but I am so tired of those 2 being the center of the show. It doesn't help that I don't like either character either.

I really hate that it is Greelee too. It seems like since around 2001 the show has been nothing but about 3 ladies for the most part: Greenlee, Kendall or Babe with a little bit of Bianca throwed in with all 3.

Even Dixie's return for most of the time she was there was having her in Kendall/Zach's orbit and not where she should have been. I know that evidently Cady wanted to work with Thorsten and of course they couldn't tell her no. I guess she was smart enough to know that if you wanted to work that was where to be, because look what happened when she got out of Zach/Kendall's orbit too - she got fired.

I am looking forward to Greenlee's return. It is hard to imagine who they are testing. I would love to see it be a vet instead of a new face. I just hope is not any of the actresses that have been rumored for awhile unless it was Araine Zuker. I could see her in the role.

Some others I wouldn't mind and I think might pull it off and are in the right age group:

Tamara Braun

Kerry Butler (I hated her character on OLTL but the actress was good)

Christie Clark (might be a stretch but it was for Rebecca too when she took the role)

Gina Tognoni (would be perfect and some say she is leaving GL this year although I hope not)

Ariane Zuker (already listed above but will put her here)

Liza Huber (would she work on AMC with her Mom now that Passions is being cancelled)

Heather Tom (but might be too confusing since she appeared as Kelly during the baby switch storyline but she would be great as Greenlee)

I will state again those rumors of Lauren Woodland & Maitland Ward and some others being in consideration for the role are just making the role way too young. I would beleive the other rumor that they were in consideration to replace Alexa Havins if she left.

God, Greenlee is SO not needed on AMC. AMC needs to focus on the characters they have NOW instead of botching another return.

And as for Rebecca Budig as a Brenda recast on GH, I think she's way too young and she just doesn't have that Brenda thing. Can't they wait one more year for LAS VEGAS to be cancelled to offer Vanessa Marcil whatever she wants to return?!

Brenda is such an important character on GH...Not just ANY soap vet can take over her role. And Budig can't.

Maybe it's just me, but I think the actress who plays Annie is terrible and way too bland to be Greenlee. Still, I'm with Bellcurve in that she isn't needed at all right now.

I agree 100% about Melissa. She could have pulled off Greenlee, or at least I think. It's possible that the only reason I've liked her so much is because she's played a new character. I personally tend to be muchar harder to win over by anyone assuming the role of one of my favorites. I think that if Rebecca can't be brought back, Greenlee should be left in the past. I can see the storyline options in bringing her back, but without Rebecca, will she really be Greenlee?

I don't think Lauren Woodland will be a Greenlee recast especially if her pilot is picked up.

Greenlee is so not needed right now. I am just beginning to like Ryan and Annie together (probably b/c she does look like Greenlee, lol). There are plenty of other characters who they can and should focus on before bringing back fan favorite characters. If they do bring back Greenlee, it'll basically be another newbie (as in actor) being forced down our throats. Sorry, no thank you. The only recast I'll except as Greenlee is the great Gina Tognoni (who wants to return to OLTL btw).

As far as Alexa goes, Erin Hershey Presley is a STRONG front runner to be her replacement should Alexa leave the show. Erin was originally considered for the role, but they went with Alexa at the last minute. Brian Frons is determined to place EHP on one of the ABC shows, it'll happen sooner than later. Either Erin Hershey Presley or Lauren Woodland will probably be the Babe recasts.

Anyway...yeah Greenlee is not needed and I hope that this isn't from Megan's last doings before she was fired! They don't need to bring on anymore characters until a new writer has been in there four-six months and work with what he/she has. I would allow the Babe recast though because she is a character already on the canvas et'al!

Heather Tom would be a kick A$$ Greenlee but I don't she would return to NYC she said she wanted to go back to LA!! And yes I could see Christie Clark doing the role!!! Hmm...but if and when they do bring Greens back I'm sure it will be a newbie who is like 18. lol.

Ryan I totally agree with you about it being another newbie forced down our throats. The writers do seem to want to write for Greenlee and something has got to be done about the show writing for only 2 actresses with bones throwed here and there to others every once in awhile. For years the show has centered around either Greenlee, Kendall or Babe and since Greenlee left only Kendall and Babe.

Even if another story is given to an actress one of those 3 seemed to have gotten into it. And that was even before Megan McTavish came aboard that it has been the case.

It is a shame that AMC has so many talented actresses and none of them hardly ever do anything. And none of them are really in exciting couples at all.

I am liking Ryan & Annie together too, but the Zendall fanbase hates them so much that I don't see anything ever coming of it. I don't like Ryan that much anymore but am starting to like him again. He has done some bad things, but I can't see all the hate for Annie that I read about.

All I know right now is I am so freaking tired of Babe & Kendall and it seeming that all the men of the show rotate around those two in one way or another. And all the women play second fiddle to at least one or the both of them. And for that reason alone I would like to see Greenlee brought back to at least stir the pot some. The writers do like to write for her whereas they don't the other women for some reason.

Unless this new writer is totally different than the writers before McTavish and McTavish, I just don't see things changing.

Since this is in the spoiler section I will say this, I am sort of excited about the dual role story coming up for Lily and it's rumored involvement with the Aidan & Di story. Kelli Giddish is a great actress and should right up there in air time with Kendall & Babe.

The reason why a majority of Zendall fans hate Ryannie is because they continue to make it seem like Ryan wants Kendall and will try to come between them if Annie doesn't work out. Ryan wants to have his cake and eat it too (that's the way he is coming off) and it's making the Zendall fans feel threatened. Now that McTavish is gone, we can breathe a sigh of relief. Unless the new writers have a hard-on for Ryan, Zendall should be safe.

And I agree with you about the Kendall/Babe/Greenlee stuff. The other women do play second fiddle, but this is the new generation. Kendall is the new Erica and Babe is the new Brooke (or Dixie). I would love to see more balance, to see my veteran women do something on the show, but in all reality, Erica is the only veteran woman on the show (Barbara doesn't count). McHack drove Eva LaRue away, got rid of Julia Barr, Cady McClain, Jill Larson and others.....

Though we will be seeing a LOT more of Tonya Lee Pinkins soon.....

They need to bring the focus back on families and core veterans, while also not completely eliminating the Kendall's and Babe's and Greenlee's. We need to have the families re-established because so many are fractured right now.

I don’t think the actress currently playing Annie could have pulled off playing Greenlee. Despite looking slightly (and I mean very slightly) like RB, that just isn’t enough.

"Slightly?" Um, wow, I think she's a deadringer for Budig! Others have said so too. It's because you just can't find women with that special dar complexion/light hair combo. It's EXTREMELY hard, as a matter of fact.
