The only network I see getting out of the soap business is NBC, I really don't think GL or ATWT are going anywhere, there ratings have pretty much stopped falling off, which is a good thing.

I hope CBSD is still around, intact. No additions, no subtractions.

I'm hoping beyond hope As The World Turns will still be alive by then.

Paul Davidson of USA TODAY announced on 2/4/07 that Jeff Zucker was promoted to the position of CEO of NBC Universal. Zucker is replacing Bob Wright, who headed the network for 21 years. This is proof enough for me that DOOL is indeed cancelled & that it will not air past 12/31/09. Zucker has commented numerous times about NBC putting an end to their daytime lineup which has been dragging them down for more than a decade. He hasn't hidden his true feelings about his network's piss poor performance in the daytime department. Do you really think that Zucker is going to hold onto a failed daytime sked when daytime as a whole continues to reach record low viewership? Look at what happened to PSN. I rest my case.

What's Ken Corday gonna do now? I have no doubt that Hogan Sheffer will find gainful employment once the show is gone. Who's truly responsible for the demise of DOOL, both creatively & commercially? K. Corday? B. Wright? J. Zucker? The top brass at Sony Pictures Television? J. E. Reilly? T. Langan?

Zucker didn't need to be promoted to cancel Days. Days is most likely history two years from now with or without Jeff Zucker's promotion.

I think in five years all 8 soaps will be on the air. As a matter of fact I think the soap genre will take an upswing and NBC will decide to stay in the soap industry keeping DOOL and creating another one so that will make 9.

Can I please have directions to whatever world you're in? Sounds like a great place to live

I think Y&R, B&B, GH, AMC and GL will the shows still being on the air in 5 years I really think GL could surive tihs show really has potential to last. along with AMC they just need some changes made.

Y&R, GH, B&B, and Days (on a new network).

ATWT and GL may stay if CBS holds to their word that they are committed to all their soaps but I have my doubts.

I would like to think all soaps will be around in 5 years.
