Yuck!

What in the hell are they doing with Paul on this show?

His scenes and mini-stories are so random and come out of no place. And they're making the character a total joke.

Whew, when I first read the first few lines, I thought it was going to be Pheila  he got action with....

He's still a dull character that has no purpose any longer and they make it a point in showing us that everytime they give him a storyline.

Word. I mean its nice they are giving him material but its sucky material. Doug Davidson should have been the Davidson fired from the show.... Paul's potential I think has been used up IMO. Really for years he was only involved in front burner stories because Christine was, since Lauralee Bell has left the show, Paul has been doing nothing.

Yeah. Does Paul even have a house anymore? Apartment... anything? He's like a total stranger nowadays.

Nope not that I've seen. He was with Ashley then they totally dropped that. Part of me wonders if Paul will end up being killed off at the climax of this Pheila storyline. Wouldn't surprise me because really what else is left for Paul?

Well, every show does have to have their sole private investigator. JT's a joke, so that leaves only Paul. Right?

amcfan_19, I totally agree that he'd the Davidson I'd fire, but I don't agree that his current story is sucky. I don't see Paul as being portrayed as dark as some of you. He is too good a person to kill Sheila and if he sends her to jail she escapes and kills more people. He didn't plan to lock her in a cage, it's just something that he fell into. Now he's thinking of what to do next. What is so dark about that? He's protecting Lauren, his former wife who he has lots of history with.

As for the sex with Detective Sullivan, I figured this was going to happen after the chemistry test. She seems funky to me, I'm not fond of her. I wish Christine were still around for Paul. Not screen hogging Christine, but a properly used Christine could benefit the Michael/Lauren/Paul age group.

I think it will be interesting I have always liked the character of Paul, I just love that they are finally giving him a storyline or storylines instead of making him out to be a boring character which he is not, that was the writing that did that to him for years.

I like Paul. I always have. I noticed that JT is getting involved in the Jill/Kay storyline. It should be Paul instead. I just feel JT as a useless character on Y&R. He has no ties to Genoa City. At least Paul has his mother. He has roots in GC. We were never introduced to JT family. I think a character that is dispensable is JT.

This is gross. That detective looks like a horse actually. I don't like this but him locking up Pheila like an animal is even creepier.

ETA: Where will they have sex? Its not like they actually have houses of their own.

Typical. I can see her overpowering Paul in this situation. I can just hear the grating conversation now, "So, you think you can handle me Mr. Williams?" [insert flirty ugly stare]. Spare me.

ETA: Good news is that Paul's momma may walk in? I know creepy, but I love Mary!

    • Seeing Peter Bergman (Jack) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) act opposite each other really makes me mad that their short-lived reunion in 2012 was just that... short-lived. I've always loved the Jack/Nikki pairing.
    • No.  I recall there was also a mention about how distracting it was EOB's Gwen wasn't wearing nail polish as well.  That it was someone's pet peeve. And, yes, the fact characters can have a manicure in prison is the wildest continuity issue here.
    • Can anyone remember Mary Ellen Stuart's run as Jenny? I'm trying to fill in the cracks for missing stuff that we overlooked.  Bulletpoints:  * Dated Ross * Rusty's police partner * Directly responsible for Dinah coming forward about George Stewart (Cam's father)
    • But that's not weird... nail polish is allowed in prisons via commissary. Same with general makeup, haircuts, and hair colouring products.
    • This is DAYS, the show that said you could brainwash anyone with simple kitchen appliances.  An actor's nail polish or lack thereof should be the least of our concerns, lol.
    • It was not that she wasn't wearing nail polish, it is that she managed to get a manicure in prison
    • "We're Knot Done Yet": the name of this lovely podcast AND what JVA tells her plastic surgeon at every appointment. In other news, Michele Lee is reminding me more and more of my old music teacher from elementary school, and I couldn't STAND that bitch.
    • I apologize if this has been covered already, but does anyone know whether Douglas Marland was HW'ing by that point?  If he was, then I see what he meant when he said (in so many words) that he had inherited a mess when he started at GH.  Aside from Alan and Monica, none of that material seems very promising.  The story with Mark Dante and the Corbins is the wrong kind of predictable (y'know, the kind where you know what's going to happen, but you just don't give a crap?), the stuff with Scotty and Laura is cute but toothless, I don't know WHAT the hell Gina and Steve Carlson's character are arguing about and Rick Webber has to be the dumbest man alive not to see David Hamilton twirling his invisible moustache over how to make a killing off Lamont Corbin's declining health.  (By the way, "LAMONT CORBIN"?  What is this, "The Shadow"?  And "Corbin Limited" sounds like some jive I'd hear over on Y&R.) In a way, it's kind of like watching today's GH, right down to the dialogue that's serviceable and pushes plot along but says nothing about the characters' inner lives.
    • It absolutely was; the narrative was there, and they followed it promptly. Maybe that's back when women had babies at young ages?!?!?
