JER wrote the jungle storyline, but not the circus. JER last aired through the last week of November sweeps of 1997, and the circus was like Feb. Sweeps of 1998. Jack was on the verge of escaping prison when JER left.

I don't want Days on ABC! Christ almighty, I don't want Frons in control of my show!

This just sucks all around. God.

Goodbye, Salem. It was nice knowin' ya! Because as far as I'm concerned, Days (as we know it) is done for.

Don't worry, Kenny. NBC will get theirs.

The second that cancellation press release is wired, I'm going to whip out my rosary beads and pray for the network's demise.

If it's one thing I've learned from "Passions," it's the power of prayer. Pilar prayed for Antonio and Martin's return and got both of them. Theresa prayed for Ethan and has had him several times. Luis prayed for Sheridan after she was buried alive and taken off life support, and he got his Christmas miracle.

I think this show has taught us one thing: if God is by your side, ANYTHING can happen.

And mark my words, NBC: if this cancellation rumor is true, you. are. going. DOWN.

If prayer worked so foolproof, as you say it does, I would be seeing some of the payoffs by now.

How many world events have happened now where billions and billions of people around the world were all praying strongly for the same thing, only for the outcome to suck (planes hit the towers... please, I pray don't let them fall... CRASH). It's all luck. And I'm just not feeling lucky right now.

Plus, like I said, I can't really be angry with NBC for their decision. James Reilly has had a longer time than any other writer in his shoes would've been given to prove the show a ratings success, and he simply hasn't done it. Most other writers would get a year, maybe two... then it's buh-bye. JER has been given eight, though. Eight years. And he's brought it to THIS. As frustrating as it is, I can't fault NBC. I can only fault Reilly.

Sorry, Kenny, but I disagree.

Studies show that prayer is not enough; in that respect, you're right. But prayer IS shown to work if you have the faith to back it up. And I do have the faith to back it up. And call me crazy, but "Passions" brought more religion to television than any other daytime soap opera, and I'm sure that must count for something. Heck, maybe that's why it miraculously became the cult hit that it did and beat the odds to score the 2's as it once had. I'm sure there was some divine intervention there. Unfortunately, however, JER went satanic or something because the show has lost its innocence and become rape-happy and in many ways depraved.

But that's beside the point.

Getting back to topic, I DO have faith. So if someone who has faith prays for a network's misfortune, that's different than the millions of people you mentioned who pray, when many o them don't have the faith to back it up. Many people do pay lip service to God.

Like I said, NBC WILL get theirs if there isn't a last minute reprieve like we all know there was with "Days" just before JER took over the second time.

I can fault NBC for not strong-arming Reilly to become the PHENOMONAL soap (and ratings success) that is could have. This show has RIDICULOUS potential that any network should be clamoring over others to exploit. I mean, Lindsay Korman Hartley, Juliet Mills, Ben Masters and Kim Johnston Ulrich -- that ensemble and the flexibility of "Passions" with its camp/serious dynamic -- are reasons enough for networks to fight over the show. It's incredibly marketable and, with the RIGHT WRITER, would be the best soap opera on television, bar none.
