Pfft. If Passions wasn't getting the axe, they'd STILL not be coming out. JER's just having to force his hand.

Besides, there's no law saying that JER has to resolve anything. It'd be just like him to have passions go out with a big weird question mark.

Rion, I do not get you.....I mean, you claim to love Passions, but you say that you wouldn't care if Passions just had a rape fest when it ends. That would be sick and JER can say goodbye to his daytime writing career if he does do that, because I can't see anyone, even Brian Frons hiring him after that.

You know, even though I'm sure like others have said he just would let the show get cancelled without resolving anything, if he does try to resolve that big list Rion made, he wouldn't have enough time to write it all. If this was Hogan Sheffer....then mabye. But that's a mabye. But JER does not write fast....so would he really have enough time to resolve all those loose ends before the show is cancelled? It just goes to show how stupid it is to leave so many loose ends hanging and forget about them.

Damn, you are both right. I think that is the last time I fully saw Passions. Meaning a whole week of Psssions. I would watch it regulary. I would tape it of course. But after 2001 I stopped. I couldnt take it anymore. I was a big fan of Ethan and Theresa. I loved both Ethans btw..LOL.

Well, I might have to tune in again. Probably not until the last day before cancellation. That is probably when all secrets come out...LOL.

I wonder if the Baltimore and Chicago affiliates were given a heads-up on what's to come.

IF DAYS is the sole NBC soap, affiliates need to step up and put it in DIRECT competition with talk shows and things that air after soaps in the late afternoon. Affiliates need not worry that this could interfere with the SOAPnet airing, as DAYS airs at 11PM EST.

In order for DAYS to survive past the current contract cycle, IMO, it needs to air AFTER the traditional GH and GL timeslot. That is the only way NBC will get their some of their coveted 18-49's back that they lost after OJ and Langan + Higley + Reilly II. DAYS can and WILL soar. It just needs to be out of the way of its competitors and not in the early morning.

Even if affiliates choose to keep DAYS as the sole NBC soap(and unless NBC 100% Pressures them to do it, I seriously doubt it), the ratings will stay at 2.6.

The time has come for the networks and the affiliates to do something different and frankly, downright drastic to get the numbers up.

DAYS can nab #1 Households and Total Viewers from Y&R if it airs in the late afternoon. But, NBC would have to force its O&O's to air DAYS at that time. Would NBC willing to do that to a property they don't own? THAT is the big question.

Correct me if I am wrong, but do most Eastern Time Zone affiliates have an hour-long gap of time between news and primetime television? I notice on many charts, WHEEL and JEOPARDY! air back-to-back before primetime. Imagine if those affiliates aired DAYS before the primetime lineup. Do you know how HUGE the ratings would be? Especially considering Hogan Sheffer is in there, writing(from what I can see) character-driven drama?!

But NBC/Universal would have to PROVE they care about DAYS, or more importantly, anything other than TODAY and its syndicated properties. And I don't see that happening anytime soon.
