Members King
I know. My guess he got way too comfortable/old and just kinda gave up. He fell way too hard/far/deep into the monotony of headwriting a soap. His early stuff was....sigh...amazing. Still is. Word. Story of my life from 2004-2006. Members RionPassions
I think JER suffered from the grind of writing two soaps. He hasn't been goine from Days for that long, so it's taking a bit of time to recover.
Members PhoenixRising05
Yeah King. I also think he let his fame get to his head. His success at Days and ealry success at Passions and the fact that he was brought in to save Days probably got to his head. NBC LOVED him and he probably that he could do whatever he wants, including throwing whatever he wants on screen, and get away with it. I am guessing that is why he was in a rage over being fired. It threw him off his high horse and bruised his ego. Is it in the NY Post King? I wonder if someone can link to it.

Members KLN
I thought that Passions was a mess long before he returned to Days.
Members King
Ditto, PR. Ditto. Way too big headed. I have no problem with cockiness and being an overzealous winner, but you have to back it up. I gave him that excuse for a little while, Rion, but he's been relieved from DAYS for 5 months now. No reason for any of this.
Members Mason
I totally disagree. PASSIONS was already slipping in late 2002 almost a whole year before he even came back to DAYS. Additionally, PASSIONS was BETTER in 2004-mid 2005 than it had been in years. So, I refuse to accept the "two soaps wore him out" excuse/explanation. Members Andre
So it is a done deal? I just want to know. I may have missed it in the.... commotion.
Members PhoenixRising05
Passions began to lose it's greatness in late 2001 with the Sheridan/Antonio crap. 2002-2003 was a subpar year but still better then now. Those years had great moments (and sad ones with JRE) but msot of them were lackluster. 2004-mid 2005 the show took a more traditional turn and started giving fans payoffs. The pace was good and the show was pretty good and then everything fell apart after the tsunami. The show has not been good since then. I really think JER's ego just grew and grew and he honestly thought he could throw whatever he wants on there and get results and be ok. Does anyone have a link or something about the NY Post? I may not sleep without one
