PSNS: The Passions Challenge and a little ranting

Rion and skiman-read our posts. We care about the show and want it to be better. Period.

Do you think any of us are saying this for kicks? I have been an avid Passions supporter for years and I am mad. I don't like what the show is and I' m not going to have people say to stop watching when I am loyal to the actors I care about. I don't like what is going on and I am near quitting but why should I quit? Because you all don't like some of us being critical? You can disagree but don't expect us all to stop commenting and watching just because us judging the show is bringing you all down. If you like what is going on, fine. Enjoy. These threads are open for people to discuss and if you don't like the comments then ignore them. The bashing is well-deserved. It is still entertaining at times but the show is a mess and all of you justifying what is currently on the air should want what is best for the show.

You can't possibly be happy with the pace, all the rape, countless copouts and fake reveals, lack of payoffs, etc. If you are, then I have no idea what you are looking for because this show has lost it's identity and is so far from where it should be.

Some of us our loyal to our shows, and don't just go "Oh! I don't like that! Goodbye!" Like I said that is one of the main reasons I watch Passions.

And be considerate of others people feelings? First of all, being negative about the show should not hurt people's feelings and second, this is a message board. I'm not going to hold back saying my opinion because someone might not like it.

Exactly. It's not like some of us are starting threads to bash it. Some start threads to discuss the episodes or spoilers and we give our opinions. That is it. Everyone knowsc I defended this show until last month and that was the final straw. I am a loyal viewer and I' m not happy.

Actually, Phoe, that's an inaccurate statement, because using understood "you" suggests that any given person couldn't be happy with the show's current stories. Again, Fancy's rape, Fake Charguel, Jared's past, Chad's blackmail...it all intrigues me right now. I AM happy with it. So yes, a person "can" be happy with the show's current stories. I'll agree, however, that the show has strayed from what it once was. Again, as a comedy, the show's brilliant. As a soap is its weak point. The stories go in circles. Still love it though. And I'm happy. No expectations is the way to go, I believe.

Yep. If you have little to no expectations, you'll enjoy the payoff that much more when it finally ever happens. That's how I felt when Ivy's scheme was finally revealed.

But the great part about the payoff was only for like a day or two when it was revealed. I'll admit JER did good with revealing it all, but the aftermath was terrible with Grace and everyone else involved. She did it over the phone for goodness sake! She should have done it in person, AND we never even got to see a Grace and David confrontation, I mean, did she just leave for Harmony without even telling David or John at all?!

Oh yes Passions is a barrel of laughs with a women getting raped every like 3 months, especially one getting raped a week before Christmas. That isn't comedy.

Everyone that watches a show has expectations. I want to be entertained not appalled. If you all like what they are giving, fine. It ain't going to cut it with most people and the show won't be around much longer like this either. That's a fact.

Everyone on this board knows I always defended this show just as much as I did days but enough is enough. This show has too much potential to be like this. I want the best for it and this isn't it. When many Passions posters starting jumping ship, I stayed aboard. I am almost ready to move on unless this holiday season and beyond plays out.

I am not going to debate this anymore because if you all like seeing all the rape, character destruction, false payoffs, and so on then you enjoy it because I won't.

Exactly. The intial reveal was fine but I did not invest 6 years or so in a story only to have the impact happen mostly over the phone. Talk about insulting longtime fans. Grace could easily be in Harmony but heaven forbid Passions gives fans what they want.

At this point in the game, David and John are unnecessary characters. This secret is about Grace and Sam's marriage. David didn't need to be seen. If anything, he fled the country after Grace told him the truth so he wouldn't be arrested for fraud. Goodbye and good riddance! Who cares what his secret was...unless John is the Evian child, it doesn't much matter...

I'm all for people expressing their opinions and being that this is a forum to do so, I'm aware that everyone is not going to agree. However, when every post from the same individuals are almost ALWAYS negative about Passions, those that like the show may not take those responses kindly. I have said that Passions most certainly has its faults and is not perfect, but the show is entertaining. And Phoenix like you have so eloquently stated, while you are entitled to your opinion so am I.

Again, Phoenix, I agree that the show missed a few beats (well, SEVERAL) and things are too repetitious and/or drag on FOREVER (seemingly); but the question the original subject posed was whether or not this show entertained me, and guess what? Tabby/Endora hijinks, Edna/Norma hijinks, JT/Rebecca bed romps, Mean Sheridan, Whore Jessica, Fake Charguel, Jaresa, Lucy and everything in between DOES entertain me. Could it be better? Yes. Would I prefer it differently? Yes. But does it entertain me? Always. Without question. Never ceasing. It IS my "Passion" for life.

Oh, I agree that they are unnecessary at this point but I would want to see the final confrontation between Grace and David, and then John learn about his father's fraud and lies. I mean, just acting like they don't exist is ignoring an important piece of the storyline. I would want to see closure for David and John, David could like you said run off and John could go live his life on his own.

If mentioning how it happened isn't bad enough, forgetting them completely is terrible.

Well, frankly, if my opinions and (constructive) criticisms of PASSIONS bothers someone else who is enamored with the show's current state, I really couldn't care less. So, I'm gonna keep giving them, whether they're good or bad.

You're free to say what you want, but don't expect us to take it lying down.

I don't, but don't expect ME to stop giving MY opinion on PSNS just because you don't like it.

I agree. Everyone on this board is entitled to an opinion, so we are not gonna just back down if someone hates it. This isn't like those other boards where they say in this certain thread "Bashers stay out!" If you don't like our opinion, then deal with it.
