PSNS: The Passions Challenge and a little ranting

Everyone on this board knows I always defended this show just as much as I did days but enough is enough. This show has too much potential to be like this. I want the best for it and this isn't it. When many Passions posters starting jumping ship, I stayed aboard. I am almost ready to move on unless this holiday season and beyond plays out.

Um, yeah. It was so infuriating.

Goodness, I didn't mean to open a big can of worms. I was just trying to figure out where all the disappointment for the show comes from. Like I said the show's not perfect, but I trust that JER will give us payoffs someday, he ALWAYS does. And IMO it's worth watching everything play out to get to the big climax of the story.

I did not invest 6 years or so in a story only to have the impact happen mostly over the phone. Talk about insulting longtime fans. Grace could easily be in Harmony but heaven forbid Passions gives fans what they want.

six years? It was a little over two wasn't it?

Sparks only left in 2004 :)

Yeah Rick but the story began in 2001.

I never said I hated the show. It is just a mess right now and I don't plan on not expressing my view of it. I defended that show when others wondered why but no more for me. The bottom line is JER is not delivering what the majority of fans want.

Rick-I can no longer just sit back and watch the same stories over and over. Other shows got the message that there needs to be a quicker pace so it's time Passions did too. How many times can fans deal with false reveals? Last month was horrible how they got everyone excited twice for ET payoffs and nothing. The LE paternity hype was the worst as they aired a commercial saying it would happen and had a mag article only to have it be a copout. Same goes for the tabloid. They drag things out to the point no one cares anymore.

By the time we got to Ivy's secrets being outed, I was almost stoic in regards to my reaction. There was really not much enjoyment because it lasted too long. There was no buildup and they just let it out. It was an ok reveal but it could' ve been much better. I could live with David and John not being there (although I feel they should be for reactions sake) but Grace doing everything over the phone was stupid. Fans waited years to hear her confront Ivy and Eve on the phone? It makes people mad to invest years for that kind of resolution.

I am not saying it doesn't have it's moments but it's inconsistent and way too sadistic as far as the rapes and such. It does still entertain me at times but then the bad parts like Fancy's rape, Fox/Kay/Miguel, etc negate all that. Not to mention all the character destruction that upsets long time fans. I am not doing this to be harsh or for kicks-it's my opinion and I will voice it. If a Passions thread comes up and I like something, I will say it. If I hate it, I will say it. Nobody has to like it but it's how I feel.

I know I'm probably the only one who thinks this, but 2006 is my favorite Passions year since 2002.

2003 and 2004 were boring, and 2005 had even more rapes than 2006.

I LOVED Vendetta, and I really like the show right now.

If you feel that you're at the point to jump ship, then jump ship. It's not that hard. You can most definitely find something else to watch during that hour.

No. No, he doesn't.

I watched Passions for almost 7 years and waited for some of those payoffs that never happened so I gave up watching because I wasn't going to waste any more time with a writer whose payoffs are so few and far between. Even when there seemed there was a payoff, there were times that it was a dream or that JER twisted things and took the payoff back. How many years are the fans suppose to wait and hope for payoffs for their time because to me 7 years was far too long. I won't even go into what other mess the show became because it would be far too long a post but many of us gave JER chance after chance but we came away disappointed more times than not so it was time to jump ship.
