I think I will just go back to not commenting at all. You can't say anything except positive about Days these days without getting jumped on. It is just not worth it.

Oh get off it! Say what you want about DAYS. That's the liberty of having a message board. People can have opinions. The only thing is, don't complain when someone has a disagrees or has an opinion of your opinon.

Well I say negative things about DAYS all the time and I don't get "blasted" or jumped on all the time. Yeah sometimes I do but I understand DAYS fans are very vocal and have their own opinions. Honestly, I don't see anything Drew or anyone in this thread to be negative. Personally I am tired of seeing some on here having to be so politically correct just so they don't "upset" anyone. I wish we could all just share our own opinions and discuss them from there. If it gets a little heated so be it.

I just cannot fathom where this "Days fans attack you" thing is coming from. We have always been a fairly ballanced group of people, even going back to the turmoil filled SSK era here when they were killing the show erm, I mean the cast.

Now, go into an All My Children thread and say something negative and see the reaction you get ...

SteveFrame, I know you're going to be coming back to read this thread, even though you "no longer post on SON about DAYS." But if you're going to PM me, don't turn your PMs off when I'm going to make a response. That's very childish.

Everyone makes such a big deal about how ALL DAYS fans are rude (an incredulous generalization with no bearing in reality), and then have the nerve to do the exact thing they accuse DAYS fans of doing. I'm so tired of this double standard against DAYS fans. If you want a scapegoat, find another group.

I guess that means that most of you have probably heard the news. I am returning to Days Of Our Lives, to play Philip. I actually started about a week and a half ago. I hope all of you are as excited about this as I am. I sat down with Ken and Hogan, and they told me what they had planned for Philip. It's almost a completely different character, which I found exciting. Hogan has some great ideas, and stories to tell, and I have no doubt that if you haven't been watching, you will. I got thrown into this huge story, and it has been a little crazy, but I'm having a blast.

All of you have always stood behind me, in whatever I do, and I want you to know that I really appreciate it. Please write me at the studio and let me know what you think. I hope everyone has a great holiday, and I will touch base after the New Year. Take care, talk to you soon.

ademption: I find it very interesting that both Hogie and Corday had a meeting with him to talk about his character. Is that typical? I wonder if it would be reading too much to think that Phillip is going to be a vital character in the coming months, given that the headwriter/exec producer decided to meet with Phil's portrayer....

I think Philip is going to be a very vital charactr in the future. I think they all (Philip, Belle, Shawn, Abby, Max, Chelsea) be. Hogan and Ken probably wanted to talk to JKJ so that he knows that Philip has matured a lot and he can't play Philip the same way he did previouly, although he was amazing the way he did portray Philip. I believe JKJ will be successful!

I hope they put Mimi and Philip in a few scenes together to ease the transition since Belle and Shawn are played by different actors now.

I agree with you Rion! It's been a shame having Farah be the only original teen left. Now, we have an original that can actually act, lol.

I agree DrewH. I like that they talked to JKJ because that means everyone knows that he can't play it the same and now JKJ will know he has to get a grasp of the way Philip is now and will be in the future. I feel confident he can pull this off and look forward to him starting.

I do think they may pair Philip and Mimi. I used to like them together but that was back when I liked Mimi's character, who is tolerable now but still. They looked cute together during the teen years but we'll see how the dynamic is now.

Back in 2001, when I still liked Mimi, and during that brief period that I liked Philip, I wanted them to hook up.

I want Mimi gone but, if she stays and we have to deal with her, I would like to see the dynamic there because it was pretty good back in 2001. One of the few bright spots of Langan's summer of island hell.
