I'm glad they went with an unknown actress.

Ted/Robin have always been a theme since the very first episode so I don't mind that he's still questioning things.

I agree with this:

It's been SIX bleepin' years since they broke up. They've been "friends", they've been fuckbuddies, they've been "not friends" since. Thematically, we deal with this every time Ted gets close to someone. I understand lingering feelings---I'm a Carjacker after all. But there's nothing that's convinced me in eight years that Robin was ever as emotionally invested in Ted as he is in her. And that imbalance drives me insane. I don't want Ted wasting his time on that 'ho, and it's frustrating to be going over and over and over this same territory when it's been perfectly clear since episode one Robin was not the mother.

I don't care for Robin and Barney either, but that's another thing all together. And rumors that TPTB are going to spend a huge chunk of time next season (I've read the phrase "longest weekend wedding ever" for example) still dealing with Ted/Robin just make me cringe. There's just a point when there's no milk left in a herd of cows.

Wheeeoohhheeewwww....I really needed to get that off my chest. I'd forgotten what it was like to vent. ;)

I had a feeling they were going to yank our chain with this and I think spending what sounds like a majority of the season telling what happens in the 56 hours leading up to Barney/Robin's wedding is a major mistake.

While I still think this "wedding weekend season" was a mistake, and more miss than hit episodes, I will admit, I have loved the last two episodes especially. Learning some of the mother's backstory last night was long overdue. I still wish we'd seen more of their relationship play out over the season, but ultimately, nothing was really going to satisfy me given one season of episodes.

I will really miss this show once it wraps up. I think it's one of the most unique shows I've watched. I just read an article with the creators where they credited their slow start with being able to keep the show rooted in their vision.

Arguably the worst series finale ever. Bizarrely downbeat and cold, it kind of crapped all over it's own history with Barney dropping back to his old, hollow ways and Robin becoming MIA as she globetrots the world. And Ted going back to that skunt because he's loved her all along and that's really the point of his story to his kids?

Major Bummer.

    • But she's a DUPREE and that makes her immune to any and everything!
    • About the only thing that could really get me interested in this show right now would be a "Who Killed Victor?" storyline IF he stayed dead. The writing for him is atrocious! And the lineup of possible suspects would be most of the canvas. Months worth of great story if done well.....of course...not getting done with Griffith.
    • I really hope you’re wrong. Dani Desperate Dupree being right will make her even more insufferable than she’s already been.
    • I know this board has very strong opinions about Scheffer's reign which run the gamut from brilliant to the nadir of the series.  I'm one of the fans. 2001 - 2005 are, imo, the second best years for the series. The first being Marland.  As The World Turns won Daytime Emmy Awards for Best Drama Series in '87 and '91. However, it wasn't until Scheffer came along that it won again...in '01 and '03. Plus it won for Best Writing Team in '01, '02, '04, and '05, an award it had never managed to win before and didn't again. When Scheffer left and Passanante was the main head writer (along with various other co-head writers) the show began to seriously tank. However, it wasn't just the writing. The budget was gone. The sets were made to be smaller or destroyed. There was all that weird hand held camera directing for a while. Scenes that were obviously shot in the hallway where the series was filmed. I think '06 - '10 is a roller coaster. There are some storylines I really enjoyed and some that were eye-rolling. Looking in the rearview mirror though, I can see that the actors, writers, directors, and crew were working their best with what money they had.
    • They are idiots! It seems crazy that Leslie is inserting herself so much into this investigation but everybody is falling into her traps. I find it to be an interesting back and forth and I'm still not completely sure who will win. I have a theory but I'm going to wait for more to develop before I say more. I feel like Haley has been more on the sidelines so I'm enjoying this new desperate streak she appears to be developing. I'm curious how it'll manifest overtime. I also agree with Dani that I am not convinced she's pregnant. I think she's trying to get pregnant but really just see's herself fading into the background and wants attention and validation from Dani and her family.
    • Thanks for sharing; the set, wow. Ten times better than the "penthouse" she lives in now (is that a surprise, though?).
    • I'd be happy to!

I just read the intro and first chapter and I'm already hooked. I know she had a co-author, but I can tell Kim is a firecracker and I'd love to have wine with her and talk sh!t haha. It makes reading the book pretty easy and entertaining. Intro - I had no idea she got a DUI! She shared 3 bottles of wine with a friend at dinner one night in LA, got in her car, was pulled over and thrown in jail overnight.  She admitted it wasn't her first time drinking and driving, but learned a valuable lesson that night. Out of the gate, she's not holding back or hiding anything. Chapter 1 - the announcement that GL was being cancelled. She was driving to Peapack and got a call from Bradley Cole who told her the news. First, that's BS that as one of the faces of GL, you hear the big news from a fellow co-star on your way to work. Granted, the "suits" were traveling to Peapack that day to tell the cast and crew, but still, seems icky. Ironically the news came on April Fools Day. Apparently that was the last day the network could decide whether to cancel or renew, but to Kim's point, couldn't they just pick the day before to avoid the callousness of the 'holiday'. Obviously a sad day in GL history. I thought it was funny, she said the one thing she thought of is "what would Susan Lucci do" in this situation, post-cancellation. And of course she said she'd "find something to hawk on the Home Shopping Network"  You all would know better than me, but part of the title of her book is "seven husbands" and in her intro, she uses Reva's full name: Reva Shayne-Lewis-Lewis-Spaulding-Lewis-Winslow-Cooper-Lewis-Lewis-O'Neill.  However, in the first chapter, she said Bradley Cole was "her 8th (or was it 9th?) husband". Well, Kim, that already contradicts the title of your book and your character's name you touted.
