Members All My Shadows
I know it's a plot point and that we only saw MJ for a very brief time, but still...I got the impression that Juanita is much more mature than the average four and a half year old. And it goes beyond her appearance...I'm talking about the way she spoke and all that too...she really did seem like maybe a 7 or 8 year old. Members David_Vickers
I agree with you on both counts. I got sick of Tom's poor parenting skills last season with that bitch Kayla. I also grew tired of Mike last season. Love the changes this season. The 5 year jump is a great plot device and I think it's revived the show a lot. Me too. Administrator Toups Posted September 29, 2008 Author Administrator Share Posted September 29, 2008 I thought it was a great episode too. Gabi making her daugther chase the car. All that cheese on the veggies....gross!! Gabi commenting on Carlos' family photo, "....it was like seals on a beach." Tom/Lynette were great! Lynette letting the boys take Tom's car. Tom kicking mirror because he already ordered a new one. I love their relationship when they're like this. Neal McDonough is creepy! Great casting though, I've always liked him. Members YRBB
I really loved the episode. The flashbacks were awesome, I'm glad they decided to go that way. Marcia Cross was fantastic when she was begging Danielle not to take the baby. I really do feel for Susan and Mike and what happened with the accident. I am very happy that Cherry chose to make that tragic event the reason they broke up, and not death, which would be obvious. Loved the Susan/Mike flashback as well. And, from the moment Dave showed up, I was incredibly intrigued. He is very sinister and seems kinda psycho. I loved how they had the doctor's tape play over the scenes were Dave goes outside and picks up the newspaper. It was very nicely directed, and that ending shot with Dave looking at The Lane? Wow, who is he really after? Awesome to see that now Edie might finally get the screen-time that she deserves. Btw, nice touch as they made sure Bree wasn't drinking during the party and, on a shallower note, Teri Hatcher just looks fantastic this season! Members sonyab1974
Susan and Mike: Okay Susan has sex with that guy who is her painter! This is how I felt. I was not happy!! I don't like him! Where is Mike?!!? Mike better be dead because I don't want Susan and Mike to be divorced. So later she tells him about a car accident. I say out loud no and start to cry. They showed a flashback of the car accident and I started to cry again. Oh but wait! There is Mike!! He is alive!!! Wait! Does that mean they are divorced?!!?! So let me get this straight. They had a car accident and a mother and her daughter died. They argued over it so now they are divorced?!!?! I am not happy with this at all!!!! Bree: Huh?!! Why did Danielle take little Ben?!!?! She is married to a lawyer? What the hell happend that would make Danielle take him?!! Gabby: Juanetta is 4 and a half?!! Damn!!! She does not look it! Is Gabby pregnant? I can't believe Gabby let her daughter run while she drove the car. Horrible! Oh but then Juanetta got a smirk and went on the bus ROFL ROFL. Hmm that smirk looks familiar. Oh wait I know! That's Gabby's smirk! ROFL. Like mother like daughter. ROFL and what's with all the cheese Carlos? ROFL ROFL. Lynette and her family: Wow!!!! They found perfect twins to look like the sons!! I'm impressed! Edie: Oh my! She is married to a man who has anger problems. Woah! Great episode!!!!
Members EricMontreal22
You're right though that wasn't until this past season--it was almsot always songs before I'm pretty sure though often cut out of town songs etc (and he did call one ep Smiles of a Summer Night which is a bit of a stretch, being the Bergman film that Sondheim's A Little Night Music is base don but a term never used in a Sondheim show)
Members EricMontreal22
I thought the episode was alright. The Gabby stuff was kinda ridiculous because she didn't even look slightly chubby and you could tell if she just dresse dup and put on some makeup she'd look exactly the same as last year--still I kinda liked the fight between her and Carlos--the overweight daughter thing is a touchy subject and they ahndled it alright--even showing some of the old mean Gabby with the car chase game I agree that she talked way more maturely than a 4 year old (a tleast most tv 4 year olds). Queer as Folk guy had the most ridiculously "done" hair for a house painter--especially one on the job. Sorry--found that a bit much. Also Tom LOVES his restaurant--it was his baby--but now he doesn't care that he might lose the liquor license? It's "cool" that they're havign a casino with booze? Wha?? Still I nejoyed it for what it was -- looks like a decent start--and I like the new married Eddie. (I did also find it weird that we saw so much of the twins but not a peep of the other kids--anyone with a family knows that kids that age don't just disappear in the house for whole "episodes" ). So Orson came back? I can't even remember why he left in the end--was it over the running over thing?>
Members Cheap21
Oh I loved the premiere! I didnt like the idea of jumping into the future at first but it worked out wonderfully. It feels rejuvenated and fresh and thats a good thing as it grew a bit stale Oh has Gaby let herself go! Im surprised she had children considering they already said she couldnt after her miscarriage, but miracles can happen. The biggest surprise is how she let herself go. I felt bad for her when Edie saw her and insulted her looks. She doesnt look quite so glamorous anymore. I had to laugh when she tried to make her daughter run home bc that was so messed up. That girl is huge for her age and is too mature for a 4 1/2 yr old. They kept the focus on her but the younger one isnt much better Bree (almost called her Kimberly) has definetly changed as well. Im glad they explained why. She threw herself into work after she lost Orson and her son. I felt bad for her the way Danielle just took him and it appears she hasnt even kept contact over the years. Ungrateful little bitch. She made it out as if Bree forced her to give the baby up. She wanted to bc she was too immature and spoiled to raise him and Bree made sure it was her decision to not do so. Edie! She looks amazing for her age. When she pulled up in the car, I thought finally she can be the villainess she was meant to be. She's such a bitch and I love it. Im not liking teh casting on her husband. He's supposed to be a psychopath but he looks too pretty. I wish he looked more manly. I wonder who he's after. Probably Bree since all the psychos seem to be drawn to her. Hope its someone unexpected like Lynette. She has to have some demons in her past. I was surprised that Mrs. McClusky was still alive and not dead and I laughed when Edie noticed the same thing. I noticed though that if the show doesnt continue in the future next year that this will be Edie's last season since she doesnt come back till now Im glad that Susan and Mike are over bc I never liked them. Interesting twist to why they arent together bc I was expecting him to be dead. She and her new guy are hot together. They have more chemistry than she had with Mike. LOL at him painting her house for 4 months. She has to know that that lie cant go on forever Overall best premiere yet. Im really intriguied by whats to come
Members EricMontreal22
I think Edie husband is perfect casting--he is kinda "pretty" but damn spooky and creepy looking (as the producer said in that interview).

Members detroitpiston
Mike and Susan break-up again??? Come one Cherry, just when my couple is finally happy you go and break them up? Why, so we can watch her sex it up with some lame painter guy? And I can't say I like any of the women right now other then Lynette. Bree is way to ice queen for me, Susan is just meh, Kathrine doesn't seem to have much of a purpose, Gabby is annoying, and Edie just looks pathetic. Members BadZoe
I think Edie's husband is.... I was disappointed that none of the characters seemed to change at all in the last 5 years. Especially Lynnette who is still whining that Tom is letting her do all the work. I saw on a show the Doctors the other day that overweight girls go into puberty really early and can hit menopause around 20. Carlos is killing his daughter and Gabby should put her foot down. Members Cheap21
Im more disappointed as this seems like a reboot of season 3 for them. Susan dating another guy while fighting her feelings for Mike. They are teh show's leading couple and I doubt they will stay apart ofr too long. I didnt like that they cast a blonde kid as their son. He should have had darker hair
Members YRBB
Prepare to be shocked: I was actually a bit bored by today's episode! The Bree/Orson name thing didn't really interest me, as well as Gabrielle and Carlos' decent into being the help. I think it is an interesting concept, but it was played for laughs and I just seem to be loosing patience for that. However, I did like that Bree and Gabrielle's stories seemed to mingle, which is something that the show doesn't do often. I also wasn't very interested in the Lynette/One Of The Twins thing, even though that twin is hot. The Susan/Mike/Jackson thing was I guess interesting at the beginning, with how Jackson ran into Mike but I soon lost interest in that plotline too. Always nice to see Richard Burgi back and I think I'm beginning to see it: Hatcher has more chemistry with him than she ever had with Denton and QAF guy. However, I absolutely loved the scene were Bree comes back and Orson psychologically blackmails her into making him dinner at 12 o'clock at night. That was the darkest and most dramatic thing they've done since maybe Season 3. I hope they continue with this. But the best, and most riveting stuff, of the whole episode came from the Dave Williams Mystery and Neil McDonough. I am happy that Edie was pissed at McC's comment, it showed a sensitive side to her. The talk about Dave wanting to be the perfect neighbor continues, and I loved how he tried to do to McC what he did to the man that was living in Edie's house. Of course he kidnapped the cat, but I'm glad they didn't show it and credited the viewers with putting two and two together. It was amazing to see McCluskey start putting two and two together, to see her doubts start to arise. It seems as if the writers are giving us a reason to think that maybe the grudge he has is against her. Or it could be just smoke (most likely). It's also very interesting to see the dynamic that exists between Edie and McCluskey, which rings very true because things were like this between them at least since the beginning of Season 3. The scene were McCluskey apologizes to Edie speaks volumes about many things. Edie realizing what it means to McCluskey to loose Ida's cat goes back to when Ida died. And McC's insistence that Dave knows she apologized says a lot about how McC has come to be scared of Dave. Wonderful cliffhanger as McCluskey involves Katherine into finding out who Dave Williams really is.
Members Cheap21
Okay, why does Porter look so young compared to Lynette's twins? He looked about the same age as them before and was no more than a year younger but now he looks 12/13 while they are
