Members R!ck
mediaweek.com Desire: 1.1/2 Fashion House: 1.3/2 Comparatively, that was a loss of 42 percent in the overnights and one share point from the lead-in average, and a more significant 56 percent in the overnights and two share points from the year-ago time period average. Take a look: Sept. 2005 time period* 2.5/4 Sept. 2005 time period* 2.3/3 (*UPN, WB) Also keep in mind, of course, that both Desire and Fashion House aired opposite predominantly repeat programming last night. No, this is not positive by any means
Members KMan101
I'm not surprised. I think people had too high expectations of them. Give them time, but they'll never be bringing in the huge ratings so ...
Members bellcurve
Rome wasn't built in a day either, Rick. It is gonna take time for these to find an audience. I give it at least until the end of the season before MyNetworkTV decides what they plan on doing. I'm still excited about a channel that is devoted to this type of programming in primetime! Members Ryan
It's gonna take time to build an audience. No one is going to instantly get a 4.0 rating or higher. As the daily episodes air in primetime (and the reruns during daytime) an audience will grow and their ratings will increase. I believe that they grow stronger. Members leevo64
Well I read somewhere that Fox was going to go ahead with them even if not initially successful. They're essentially stuck with them. I really like Desire.

Members DaysnPassionsFan
Yeah, I'm not sure exactly the number, but MyNetwork does not have anywhere near the coverage either WB or UPN had. And relatedly, I was shocked to see Veronica Mars's numbers last night to be 0.3 But then realized most UPN affiliates made the switch to MyNetwork
Members R!ck
Wikipedia: As of August 28, 2006 167 stations are affiliated with the new network, reaching approximately 106 million households and covering 96% of the US. MyNetworkTV now has broadcast or cable affiliation in all of the top 100 markets; ironically, The CW is still missing four markets in the top 100 Due to the availability of "instant duopoly" digital sub-channels that will likely be easily available on cable and satellite, and the overall lack of a need to settle for a secondary affiliation with shows aired in problematic time-slots, both the CW and MNTV will be launching with far greater national coverage than that enjoyed by UPN and the WB when they started in 1995. UPN for several years had gaps in the top 30 markets, and by 2005 managed to reach only 85% of the population. Here in WV, Suddenlink originally debuted MNTV as a pay channel, but starting September 21st it will be available on Channel 3 pushing TV Guide to Channel 2, and I can't wait to start watching. I hope you guys are right and the ratings improve, but it looks bleak especially when it's been promoted so much and has 96% clearance. Members dc11786
"Desire" finished filming in late May. "Fashion House" finished in late July. "Watch Over Me" and "Art of Betrayal" are the novelas currently in production. "A Dangerous Love" and "Rule of Deception" are tentatively set to start production in late October. Members AbFabGL4ever7
We have to look at the fact this is a new network and the telenovela concept is new to the american audience. It's gonna take time to build an audience. Fashion House with a 1.3 can only go up in the ratings. Desire I can't say how it's going to fair, but I think both will slowly inch up. Especially people's who shows on the other networks get yanked off the air in the coming months. They will see these novelas and know they don't have to worry it won't be there the next time they turn on the tv. I only see them getting better. That's the official launce of CW and all of the old UPN/WB stations will now be MNTV and CW
